  1. For someone with your level of hair loss, I'd be hesitant to go to Turkey and do 5-6K grafts. The reason being is doing so will more then likely cripple your future donor supply. Judging by your post and pics, you are going to need to max out your donor supply. That said, you should take a hard look at FUT. I also don't think 3K upfront will give you the results you want. I suggest doing something like 3500 grafts via FUT, with about 500 going toward crown to hold you over. You would then have to schedule another procedure, which I also recommend as FUT, or a combo of FUT+FUE to reinforce the front a little more; the majority of grafts for your second session would go toward the crown. A mature hairline, which is not bad at all imo, should also be in order. You will continue to lose more hair so if you go this route, assuming your donor is average, you should have about 2500 or so grafts left via FUE for a third procedure in the future. I would also encourage you to hop on fin + rogaine. That stuff really works. Which doctors are you speaking with, btw?
  2. Hey man thanks for sharing your story. Dr. K and his team are an amazing group. I don't believe you need another surgery, though I'd be lying if I wouldn't do the same if I was in your shoes. A minor touch up is going to go a long way for you. Aside, you should also talk to the docs about filling in your scar. About 300 grafts, perhaps from beard, will do wonders. Anyway. Good luck. And thanks again.
  3. This is why I'm not posting results until later — I don't want to field all these questions. Good luck. Signing off this place for a bit.
  4. Yes, that is what I'm saying. Meds work. idk what stage I'm at or was at. I had extensive hair loss.
  5. Meds work, but they lose efficacy over time. In my case, 7 years. The native hairs you do have make a much bigger impact then most people think. I was at an advanced stage eight years ago, so I know going into my first procedure that I would need more work down the line. Even with this second procedure, I'm aware that I'll eventually need a third, which* is why I opted for FUT on my second run. Edit: And to clarify, Dr. K didn't work on my crown in my first run; he had a lot of ground to cover in the front. The results you saw from my first procedure in the crown area show how effective things like Minoxidil and fin are. Eventually, though, the meds lose efficacy.
  6. I'm not posting results until they are final, but here is 12 days post op.
  7. Experiencing a round two of accelerate hairloss in vertex, crown after seven years on fin.
  8. I'm unsure what a loading phase is. I personally weaned off fin while adding dut before transitioning to dut full time. Something like 2-3 weeks. Took fin in morning and dut at night. No sides. And tbh, I'm unsure a transition is even needed, but that's what I did.
  9. It is very difficult to find accurate information on dut. I was on fin for about 7ish years. Zero sides. Switched to dut nearly a year ago. Only side I think I have is facial hair grows somewhat slower, but I don't mind that at all. Generally speaking, if you can handle fin you can handle dut, which leading doctors have described to me as "more potent." A lot of people have "sides" because it's in their head, which is why I recommend taking it at night before bed versus first thing in the morning — it's out of your head that way (plus, if you pitch a tent ... you have no sides lol). While both of these drugs will slow down hair loss, the vast majority of people taking either drug will see a decrease in efficacy over time. In terms of improvement, I'm unsure. I began taking dut after experiencing my second round of accelerated hair loss; first round was about 8 years ago, which is when I hopped on fin. The second round began attacking my vertex and crown; I had made significant gains in both these areas when I started taking fin + rogaine 8 years ago. I believe things have stabilized since now after being on dut for a year. I imagine there will be a round 3 of accelerated hair loss a few years from now. Hopefully not.
  10. Some people will tell you that yes, it will. Personally, I believe that if it did make a difference, that the difference would be negligible. But I sincerely do not believe this impacts hair loss. Taking meds like fin are significantly more important, imo. I've been lifting consistently for about 4 years now. I recently had my second FUT surgery and began lifting and taking creatine + my whey protein powder about 3.5 weeks after surgery. I do suggest easing into your lifting routine and not going balls to the wall if you got a FUT; you don't want to stretch the scar. I imagine this will be a non issue at the 6 week mark. I also recommend taking a shower and washing your scalp immediately after you get back from gym. Personally, I recommend using only conditioner, something like Panteen with extra hydration. Aside, I believe lifting improves healing, growth. I have no scientific evidence to suggest that, but I healed quick (and much faster than my first HT, where I wasn't lifting or nearly as active). I sincerely believe this forum should start talking about diet, exercise as part of the overall HT journey, but that's just my personal two bits and it's ok if anyone here disagrees with anything I said.
  11. I sincerely regret trying to give you very sound advice. I wish you luck. Moving on now.
  12. It seems you're misinformed. Going FUT first will max your donor supply. If someone told you otherwise, such as a doc in Turkey, I can assure you they are lying. Good luck.
  13. It's all the same shit. Same ingredients, everything. You're basically paying for marketing w/ Rogaine. A lot of white label brands are made by the leading companies ... wouldn't be surprised if Rogaine made Costco Rogaine, just as Grey Goose makes Costco Vodka ...
  14. Because given your current hair loss, you are going to want to max out your donor supply.
  15. I'm not familiar with the docs, but if I were in your shoes, I would certainly go with FUT, with about 80%-85% going in front and using the rest to soften the lack of coverage w/ crown. You can then bolster your crown's appearance with some light use of concealer. I have an idea of what you want to achieve, so I'd also be prepared to book a second procedure as soon as your body/head is able to handle it to address the crown, as well as add some additional coverage to the front (my gut tells me you'll want that, too). Get on fin and start using rogaine (costco version is fine, just buy direct from them and not eBay) as soon as possible and stick with it. You're clearly going to lose all your hair, so stabilize it. Take the fin at night when you go to bed so you don't psyche yourself out about its overstated sides. Good luck.
  16. Looks like you're in a great spot man! Expecting to see some awesome results.
  17. I think the first wave of elective surgery lockdowns was a knee jerk reaction. I believe we've learned enough that these can proceed under future lockdown conditions. Unless you're traveling overseas, I wouldn't fret about it.
  18. I had already been thinking of getting a 2nd one, but everything else you described is spot on for me. Sometimes I would wake up out of bed after a night out and look in the mirror and be like, "Dude, your hair looks good. What's wrong with you?" Those concealers play mind games. Edit: I recall reading somewhere, i don't remember where, that lockdown has led to surge in HTs and products like Hims which ship fin etc.
  19. Nearly 2500. About 1500 went to crown. About 1K went to front half. Fin and Rogaine worked wonders for me, and the native hairs I did have made a big difference. I experienced an accelerated* loss of those native hairs + crown from the gains I captured from meds about 1.5 years ago. Dr. K addressed those. I knew going in 8+ years ago that I would eventually need a 2nd procedure. I don't want to hijack this thread so more soon.
  20. Bro. Once you go there you'll "get it." You're like the most perfect candidate for a HT and you're going to the best. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Just post an after picture here when you're done at the very least. Congrats. Edit: Just to put your mind at ease, this is what 12 days post op looks like w/ someone like Konior (3rd pic). Pic taken a few days ago. I had my sutures removed. I buzzed it down after. The pic was taken immediately after; if you zoom in you can see freshly cut hairs scattered throughout my face. I won't be posting until my results are final, but in the meantime, just to give you an idea. Second one is immediately after the Nov. 2020 surgery. First is me in 2012. You're going to the best in the world. Nov 2020 surgery. Bald pic 2012.
  21. I have what some would re: as polarizing opinions on sides and fin w/ this forum. My belief is it has more to do with a balding man's psyche. Also, what does diet, exercise look like (not you specifically, but those who mention sides). I've been on it for 8 years now. Def no sides. I'm a very healthy guy. I told a friend to take it at night versus the morning because he was worried about sides. It's out of your head that way. Plus, if you pitched a tent in the middle of the night .... well, it seems like there aren't any sides (lol). IDK the exact numbers, but there was a study and something like 7% reported sides and 2% of them were on a placebo (Melvin has the study and objective insight on it somewhere on this site). Just my two bits. And it's ok for anyone reading this to disagree with me. Anyway, it's great you're on something because that stuff does work. And you will ultimately lose some more of that awesome hair you have. So that's why I suggest it. Keep what you got. It worked very well for me. Good luck.
  22. I'm a 2x Konior patient. Just had second procedure. I also sent a friend to him, where Dr Nadimi performed the surgery and his results looked amazing. There's a reason why there's a backlog for consultations ... Konior and Nadimi are that good. I've gotten to know Konior well over almost a decade. Based on what I know about the guy ... he wouldn't associate his name with anyone unless they were legit a prodigy. If you're looking for savings, you can certainly find other docs. If you're looking for best-in-class results, then you go to Konior. Waiting sucks. All Konior patients have waited. But the long term payoff is beyond worth it. In terms of cost, too many people here focus on the # of grafts they get. There's so much more that goes into cost that goes past total graft count. Not to mention, Dr. K can make 1400 grafts look like 2500. Aside, you're in an amazing spot for a HT. If you're not on Propecia + Rogaine, I suggest jumping on that now. From my first procedure w/ Dr. K... You don't shop around after a result like that. Good luck.
  23. I do not know. There is a section on this sub and some active members on it. Perhaps start there. The reccomendation I hear most is FUE + SMP. But do your DD on upkeep.
