  1. Good luck with the HT! Looking forward to hearing your experience of it.
  2. I had obviously hoped for more density after 4 months. Of course I am happy to have more hair than I did before the op. Still, getting more density would be great. I still wear a cap at most times when I go outside. Some of you who read this would know what can be realistically expected after about 4 and half months of where I am. Can more density be expected by the 6th month? Or would it be same as 4th month? I haven't had a hair cut since the OP. Will get a hair cut later this week and will post images.
  3. Go away! You are making me jealous This is fantastic! Congratulations!
  4. Sorry for late response. Have you had your HT yet? I don't know to be honest who is the best doctor in India for a HT. This forum has been around for a while and there have been folks who got HT in India that were a success. I reckon the recommended doctors on this forum would be good ones.
  5. This is my pre op pic here for comparison. Your honest feedback would be appreciated.
  6. Sorry for being quiet last couple of months. Had met with an accident and then got busy with work. I injured my left hand in accident but nothing else much. It's all well now. Today is 4 months and 10 days since the HT. Still shedding some hair. Transplanted hair grew very fast along with my other hair. The density part worries me a little bit. I don't know if I can expect more hair to show up in next few months. Here's some pics I took a few minutes ago.
  7. Wow! This is very impressive for 7 months. I'd be happy even if this was the final result. I hope mine is as good in 7 months or at least close to it. The difference between your latest pics and the ones before your HT is huge! Congratulations buddy! Hope you get even more density in months to come.
  8. First of all, congratulations on going ahead with the HT. I hope you don't feel guilty over spending money on this. Did I have this same feeling about HT? Well, I didn't really bother much over my look for years. Even when I started noticing that I was balding. And that was a mistake actually. I should have tried to do something about it seriously when it had just started. But, I didn't. Fast forward 6-7 years later, I look at myself in the mirror and see how much it has gotten worse. I felt like I would lose almost all my hair sooner than I was preparing for. That's when I decided to go ahead with it. I also have relatives who probably can't afford this. I don't earn that much myself. I didn't tell anyone but my family about my decision to get a HT. They were all supportive of it. Most likely because they know I used to have a much better social life when I had full hair. I got my HT done about 24 days ago. Have met some relatives since. They figured I got a HT done, and they all seem happy for me. If you can afford it and it's what you want to do, don't feel bad at all about it. It could have been, God forbid, a kidney or liver, you know. If you can fix it and would like to, you should. I live and work in Delhi. If you're around and feel like talking to a fellow HT patient, I'd be happy to. By the way, you can also follow my HT progress for which I created a thread. And let us know how your HT goes/is going. All the best!
  9. Day 24 today. I have started shedding hair last couple of days. Although I have read how it is normal to be shedding hair at some point after the HT, I can't help wondering if I am shedding them too early. No bleeding or any such thing but I think I'm shedding about 15-25 hair each time I shower.
  10. Hi Dmitri, I have mentioned the name of the clinic and the doctor who performed the HT on the thread title. It's Dermaclinix and the doctor was Dr Jyoti Gupta. I live and work in New Delhi, India for now. So, I had looked for a HT clinic in the city itself. After several online research including this forum, I decided to go ahead with Dermaclinix as their top 2 doctors, Dr Kavish Chouhan and Dr Armendra Kumar are both from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), India's premium medical institute. I don't know if their price varies from patient to patient. I was quoted around INR 45-50 ($00.65 - $00.75) per graft for either Dr Kavish Chouhan or Dr Armendra Kumar. In the end I decided to go ahead with Dr Jyoti from the same clinic who charges less than them, most likely because she's an MD from Safdarjung, another great medical institute but not as prestigious as AIIMS. Her price at the time was INR 30-40 per graft. That's almost like $00.50 or $00.60 per graft. I trusted the Clinic manager Reshma's words that Dr Jyoti was as good as any other in this field. So I went with Dr Jyoti. I personally found her and her team to be good extremely good. Although I still have to see how I progress with my HT going forward, I am happy with it so far. I don't know where you are based or if New Delhi is too far for you. If you're considering any doctor or clinic, try to also look for the negative reviews. That's how I decided to go ahead with Dr Jyoti of Dermaclinix as I couldn't find any negative review about her or the clinic.
  11. Day 20 since op. I haven't experienced shedding of hair as of yet. Maybe 3-5, I don't know for sure. The transplanted hair are growing along with the rest of my hair instead. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing. I see that my recipient area is looking red/pink. It's a normal thing after HT, right? Why does it get red after a HT? I don't know how long it's gonna stay that way. Not very long, I hope.
  12. Thanks Dolph for your response and feedback. I am almost scab free by now. And yes, the hairline is acrually fine. I had to compare it with my pic from ten years ago and found the current hairline is same as my original hairline. So, I take back my word about feeling disappointed with it. It's day 16 since the OP. Here's some pics in natural light (couldn't take pic of the donor area as I was taking the pics myself):
  13. Day 12 pics (not natural light). Will post week 2 pics in natural light. It's been 12 days since the OP. I have been very careful not to let the grafts fall. Been sleeping the same position since the OP and still not confident in sleeping on the recipient area. Although I was instructed to wash the transplanted hair with shampoo twice a day since day 3, I have been very cautious as I don't want to risk losing the grafts. It was only yesterday that I started gently touching the transplanted grafts with my finger tips while shampooing. Some crusts or scabs came off with some hair but like only 4 or 5. Now when I look at the picture of the recipient area, it looks like less grafts to me. I don't know if it's a normal day 12 look or if I lost some grafts. Therefore I appreciate any feedback to understand how I am progressing.
  14. Hi Ajeet, that's very impressive result. 7500 grafts is a lot though. I have been reading good reviews of Dr Arika Bansal on this forum from the patients. I tried to get my HT done with them too but decided to go with Dermaclinix instead who I think and hope are equally good. Although 7500 grafts could cost a lot, if you're happy with the results, it's all worth it, isn't it? This looks very good already but it may not even be the final result yet as I'm told the complete process can take up to 12 months.
  15. Very impressive for just 5 months. Happy for you, JustJax. Hope you get more density in coming months.
  16. Day 4 pics. The swelling has gone down. Only a little dissatisfaction I feel right now is that the hairline could've been lower than what it is. I had mentioned this at the time of the surgery and they said it was good and looked only like that because of the swelling. Would appreciate your feedback.
  17. Dmitri, have you decided on any surgeon/doctor in India yet? I got my FUE HT done with Dr Jyoti Gupta of Dermaclinix. I found her and her team quite good. I also paid quite less compared to what others have quoted in this forum. That being said, I myself need to see how successful my HT is in coming months. Until then, I would have to wait before I recommend any clinic or doctor for others. I think someone mentioned Dr Arika Bansal of Eugenix on another thread on the forum. She's also a good option based on experiences of her patients on this forum. I personally don't have any experience with her though. I would however add that those MDs from AIIMS are usually the best ones in India. All the best.
  18. Thanks for your response and encouragement. It's way too early to be excited but I kind of am thinking about having hair over my forehead again. My baldness made me come across as anti social to some of my friends. I am an introvert by nature but not really an anti social person. I don't know why I let my baldness stop me from leading active social life like I used to. I hope this HT thing goes well. I want to be as confident and cheerful in social events as I used to.
  19. Thanks for sharing your experience. After reading your response, I decided I am not wearing a cap for next 10 days or so. I came to work today and wore the loose hat the clinic had given me. It was a little uncomfortable explaining to my colleagues what I had gone through and why I am wearing this clinic hat. Fortunately for me almost everyone was understanding and that made things easy for me.
  20. Nice to read your HT experience. I got mine done 2 days ago. So I am about 3 months behind you and would be keenly following your progress. You mentioned in one of your posts that you wore a cap at all time after your HT. How early did you wear it after your HT?
  21. Thanks for your response and advice, Dolph. I have a loose fitting cap I can wear. It'll still touch the implanted grafts though. Is that something I should be worried about? Good to know the swelling is normal and would go away in a few days. I got my first implanted hair wash today at the clinic.
  22. Here's some pics from day 2. I had taken two days leave from work following my HT. I will get back to office tomorrow. I am told that I can wear a hat or cap to work. I don't know if there would be a risk to that. As you may notice, the swelling hasn't gone yet. Hoping it does by tomorrow or next 2 days.
  23. I'll share day 2 pics later in the day after getting my dressing removed. To be honest, I don't know how it is going to be. I never had unrealistic expectation and hope it goes well.
  24. I am 32 years old. I started losing hair at age 25. It wasn't very noticeable at the time. It started looking worse 2 years later in 2012. I started wearing a cap at all time to hide my baldness. It pretty much killed my confidence especially with the opposite sex. I have never been the type to be after women all the time but I did enjoy occasional attention. Needless to say, that stopped happening. Then by 2016 when I looked in the mirror I noticed how much worse it had gotten. I knew I had to do something soon. By late 2016 I decided I was going to have a hair transplant. I live and work in Delhi, so it had to be done here for me. I went for a consultation at a clinic (iGraft) wherein I was informed I would need about 6000 follicles. They apparently do not work by grafts. I decided to try out other clinics too. I had no idea who was going to be the surgeon had I decided to go ahead with iGraft. Also, their call centre kept calling me giving me the impression that they were more interested in getting the money. Then I came across this forum while looking for more options. I read about other HT patients and came to a conclusion that it was important to get my HT with a good doctor/surgeon. I tried to go with Eugenix clinic in Gurgaon but decided to go with Dermaclinix instead. Dermaclinix is run by two well reputed doctors from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science). I got my consultation done with Dr Kavish Chouhan (MD, AIIMS) who informed me that I needed 3500 grafts for my HT. He didn't give me any impression whatsoever that he wanted me to go ahead with their clinic. I was impressed with this and immediately decided I would go with them. While checking their price with the clinic manager Reshma, who is excellent by the way, I opted for Dr Jyoti Gupta (MD, Safdarjung Hospital) as her price was cheaper than that of Dr Kavish Chouhan and Dr Armendra (MD, AIIMS). Reshma assured me that Dr Gupta was as good as any she knows of. My reason for choosing for choosing Dr Jyoti was because I knew she had worked with the doctors from AIIMS and herself has very good reviews about her on the Internet. So, on 4 March 2017, I got my day 1 of HT done with them at their Janak Puri clinic which is smaller than their clinic at Defense Colony. Day 2 of HT was done at Defense Colony. I did go through some pain but I decided it was all gonna be worth it. Dr Jyoti Gupta and team found me very cooperative and mentioned that it helped them work even better. Of course, I was ready to go through hell for this, so a little pain here and there wasn't going to bother me too much. It's day 2 of my HT today. In an hour I am going to their Defense Colony clinic to get my dressing removed. I have been taking the medicines they gave me regularly and spraying my implanted grafts with some liquid spray they gave me, every 2 hour or so. I did overhear them say I was going to have thick hair during the OP. I hope they are right. I'll share some pics of me before my HT.
  25. Keep updating us with your progress. I just got my HT done in 2 days of 3500 grafts. Day 2 of OP. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
