  2. Louise, This is a fantastic example of why patients (especially young ones) should begin taking hair loss medications as soon as they notice thinning. I wish that these options had been around when I began losing my own hair. When they did become available, they were much too expensive to suit my meager salary at the time. Balding men and women today really do have some viable options for taking control of their hair loss. This young man has bought himself some valuable hair time!
  3. orangehair, Thank you for posting this case. Dr. Dorin's work looks fantastic and the re-framing of the patient's face is sure to have a positive impact. All the best,
  4. Looking good! Thanks for starting such a comprehensive blog. I'm looking forward to following your progress.

    All the best,

  5. PathsPatient, Wow! You are a hair growing machine my friend! Just imagine what it'll look like three months from now. Thanks for contributing to this community by keeping your patient website up to date. I look forward to following your results over the next several months. All the best,
  6. Jacksbeard, Congratulations on this first of several milestones you have to look forward to as you progress along your hair restoration journey! I had sutures for both of my hair transplant procedures but I was no less eager to see them go. The waiting can be rough but this is also an exciting time. Please keep us informed of your progress. All the best,
  7. Dr. Simmons, Thank you for sharing this result. This is follicular unit transplantation at its best! This patient must be thrilled! Excellent density and it even looks good wet. What more can you ask for?
  8. macwifey718, Although I have no personal experience with nuLOCKZ, a brief search of their website revealed that the product contains the following ingredients, among others; Biotin, Niacin, Pro-Vitamin B5, Saw Palmetto and Rosemary. While some of these ingredients may benefit the hair to a small degree, there is nothing revolutionary in this product and certainly nothing that can't be found in any other quality shampoo. The only clinically proven, FDA-approved, non-surgical hair regrowth treatment for women is 2% Rogaine (minoxidil). I also suggest that you research our forums for more information regarding surgical hair restoration for women. Here is a recent example of surgical hair restoration on a female patient performed by recommended hair transplant physician Dr. Lindsey. If you have any further questions I'd be happy to help. All the best,

  11. Dr. Alexander, Another artistic and completely natural result! This patient has already seen major aesthetic improvement. Restoring his crown will truly be the icing on the cake. Please keep us informed of his future progress.
  12. BigBill1234, Congratulations on your decision! Dr. Charles is a quality hair restoration physician and highly active member of this forum. He is truly dedicated to his patients and I'm sure he will do everything in his power to see that you get the results you are looking for from your hair transplant. Please keep us informed of your progress. All the best,
  13. Dr. Lindsey, Fantastic news! I'm very happy to hear that Julia is getting stronger and may be on the road to a full recovery.
  14. Dr. Lindsey, Thank you for sharing the results of this FUE procedure. As a male, I often overlook hair transplant procedures on female patients but it is astonishing how restoring hair in a such a relatively small area can produce such a dramatic, aesthetic improvement for the patient. She must be very pleased indeed!
  15. norwoodsman, I don't think there is anything wrong with being creative and proactive regarding your hair loss. The important thing is that you are here and asking questions. Hair transplant results will vary depending on many factors including density of the donor area, hair characteristics, scalp quality, etc. but, with realistic expectations, it is possible for a NW 6-7 to obtain very desirable results. Bill Seemiller , the Managing Publisher of the Hair Transplant Network is a testament to that. You can view his Hair Loss Website here. You may not be a candidate for hair transplantation surgery but I recommend that you schedule two or three free, online consultations with some of our prescreened hair loss physicians in order to get a better idea of what your options are at this point. Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the best!
  16. norwoodsman, Hair loss can be a devastating occurrence (even for the beautiful people ). Unfortunately, we are one decade into the 21st century with no baldness cure in our immediate future. Since you have not posted any photos, it's difficult to assess your degree of hair loss but there are some viable, non-surgical hair loss solutions that you may want to explore. Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (finasteride) are both clinically proven to help stop or even reverse hair loss. Both of these hair loss treatments are considered to produce the greatest results in younger patients. I recommend that you consult with your doctor or arrange for a free consultation with one of the quality hair loss physicians on the Hair Transplant Network. All the best,
  17. helmania, While clinical hair loss studies showed that 5% minoxidil grew 45% more hair in male patients than the 2% formula, to my knowledge there is no research to indicate that higher concentrations of the drug will produce more hair growth. There is always the chance, however, that using a higher dosage of any drug will produce more noticeable side effects. All the best,
  18. norwoodsman,

  20. Dr. Quatela, Thanks for sharing this example of your excellent work. This patient must be thrilled with the results. All the best,
  21. sr0d, For starters, allow me welcome you to the forum! You've come to the right place for answers. As azn_guy pointed out, a quick search will yield volumes on the subject but I can tell you a few of things based on experience. How short you are able to buzz your hair after a hair transplant will depend on several factors including; how coarse/fine your hair is density in your donor area skin color scalp laxity As for me, I had a very loose scalp prior to my first hair transplant. After my scar healed, it was pencil thin and invisible when clipped to a #3. I never tried cutting it shorter than that after it had healed completely. Now I'm on HT #2 and my scalp is considerably tighter this time around. I'm hoping for similar results but I wouldn't be surprised if I experience some stretching this time. Time will tell. Best of luck!
  22. Bill, Thanks for the warm welcome and for bringing me aboard! I'm looking forward to taking on a formal role here and continuing to provide support and advice to others experiencing the negative effects of hair loss. Here's to hair!
  23. Thanks Bill! The "after" pic was taken only 6 months after my first HT but already showed a vast improvement. The one I emailed you is a much better demo pic. Can't wait for the final "after" in a few months!

  24. alex12, Bill answers your question in the following link, It is safe to use concealers after 10 days. All the best, TTP
