    Thank you so much for the advice. I will definitely talk to my doctor about finasteride and continue to use minoxidil on a daily basis.

    Hi everyone. I just discovered this awesome website and wanted some much needed advice on my balding problem. I am 25 yrs old and noticed balding late in high school. I was one of those trendy kids that bleached their hair a lot and after bleaching it about 8 times, I could literally pull hair out with ease when I washed off the bleach. However after the wash, it was difficult to do so. I am not sure exactly what is causing my baldness but my dad, and both my grandfathers are bald. I have attached a picture of my main balding region but I also wanted to point out that I have a receding hairline in my forehead area. So what should I do? My family doctor prescribed me rogaine so I will begin using that but it seems like everyone tells me it doesn't work. I am not sure if I'm willing to take fin/propecia because of the side effects (especially the erectile dysfunction side effect), so I am seriously considering hair transplant surgery. I will be a medical student this august so I am sure the extra stress from grad school will not help my condition right now. Any advice/tips/recommendations will be greatly appreciated
