Awesome detailed account of your experience. Never knew you needed so much in your crown area. Looks like they did impecable work. Lucky. I'm surprised how quick your beard recovered. Still looks good. I'm going for another HT end of the month with Dr Mwamba ... And I'll be taking out from my beard for the first time. We are planning 500, but after seeing your pics... I think I'll be upping the number to 1000 beard grafts. In all honestly... How do you see your beard coming in after the surgery?

Crown looking like it filled it nice. I think I can spot some of the beard grafts used in the crown area. I heard those get softer and straighter over time. And your beard area is still looking good. Considering you took out over 2k grafts. WOW. Looking forward to those pics when tus clean shaven to see how, if any, scarrijg looks.

Looking good. Dr Nader is great. The whole process is smooth, considering it's in Mexico. I went to him 3 times for FUE. Zero complaints. -
would oral minoxidil work better than topical minox for beard growth
Etownone replied to mmokin's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
So there isn't any data or studies to confirm oral is more effective then topical. That's all I needed to know. Thought I was going to have to switch to oral. Thx. -
would oral minoxidil work better than topical minox for beard growth
Etownone replied to mmokin's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
I'm just trying to get some clarification here bud.. Because u said: "but they are using topical minox which has been shown to be less effective than oral for scalp hair." If this is true, which this is the first time I heard this, then I'm switching to oral. -

Topical Minoxidil is less effective then oral? I thought that was still up for debate. -
I got my 6th HT coming up end of the month... This time with Dr Mwamba. Its more of a repair job to fill in for more density in some areas. 1000 from depleted donar area... & For first time, I'll be using beard grafts, 500. I've looked up just about every beard fue post with pics/videos I could find on the internet. Vast majority are positive results. Here's the thing.. How come some Drs take from the bottom area neck area, and some take throughout the whole beard. I've even heard one dr say in a youtube video that the neck area beard follicles are not very good. I was planning on telling Dr Mwamba to just take from the bottom neck area... But now, I don't know.

Painful decade long journey. 34 yo | 3x HT
Etownone replied to track_rat's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Definitely looking forward to reading your new thread on your latest procedure, as I know you used scalp and beard this time. Curious if you got beard extracted from your whole face or stuck with what you wanted, and used neck area only. -

Wow. What a journey. I think the front Hairline is going to start coming in real good within a couple months. And they really repaired your sides. But your beard.. You really don't seem happy with the results. I got a procedure coming up end of this month with Dr MWamba... I was super excited.... (1000 scalp + 500 beard) But now I'm nervous about the beard fue. -
Good info... I got my 1st surgery with Dr Mwamba coming up next month.

I didnt know either... I set up an online consultation, and durung our talk he saw I was in nj and told me he was actually in nj too, and if I wanted to come down for an in person consult. I saw him the next day late afternoon, he was just finished doing another surgery. He told me he was coming back to Jersey the first week of Feb. So I booked my surgery for that week.

I thought you depleted your beard... So you do grow out your beard. Care to post a recent pic of how the beard is looking now. I feel Beard grafts is on the rise, more and more people are going to use them. My upcoming surgery with Dr Mwamba is 1000 scalp and 500 beard... He told me we can easily do 1000 beard.

I actually went to your shop in Fort Lee a couple years ago, and had my consultation to get smp for density. But when I followed up to schedule my appt.... I was denied, and told smp for density isn't done anymore due to mixed results. Are you back to doing smp for density?

Amazing final result.

Would 1000 be enough?
Etownone replied to Etownone's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
To update... I was extremely lucky to get an in person consultation with Dr Mwamba in NJ. What a difference .... He really took the time to inspect the hair on my head, use his pen camera to take pics of different areas and then count hairs on screen to see which areas he could extract from. He pointed out all my weak spots... And to my surprise, he said he could extract 800-1200 grafts from my scalp, and another 1000 from my beard. His prices were more then fair, and I got a discount if I allowed my pics to be used on his website. (pics are to be taken above eyebrows to remain anonymous) Needless to say, I left the office feeling hopeful and excited. I booked my surgery with him for Jan 31, Feb1. -
Toppik DermMatch Prothik which is best?
Etownone replied to Melvin- Admin's topic in Shampoos, sprays, and concealers
Tried them all, but I'm been using Dermmatch for years... Hands down the best. It definitely does more then just tint the scalp. It does bind to your hair like hair fibers. It's great for the summer beaches, pool and workouts cause it's waterproof. The main con is that it does take a longer then the others to apply.... I apply it to dry hair, then I use a little hair spray. And then blow dry it on low. -
But the size of the needle? Do you use different sizes when going for density or shaved look? I know one artist that said he used a 0.03 needle and the results look great on a skin tight fade.
-
What size needle did you use for this? Im noticing some artists use bigger dots when going for density cover up, and other artists using smaller dots for shaved look or skin tight fades.
