  1. Second result now that I've seen from him with rather large scarring. I want to beleive the whole "it depends on the patient" thing, but at the same time it seems extremely rare to see noticeable FUE scars, at least on these forums.
  2. I once tried to setup a consultation with this great doctor. This was earlier this year. The woman I spoke to said the fee was $400 for a consult. I had to respond asking if that was a typo. She then confirmed it was not. I'm not going to go into further thoughts about how I feel about that other than it's probably the most insane price I've ever been quoted for anything, in my life.
  3. He must have had his front temples reconstructed at some point bc although he wears a piece, you can see in this pic here (from around 10 years ago) that he had hair missing in that area.
  4. It's just known, and well documented. Those two stand alone IMO. There are still a few good others (Bicer, Demirsoy, maybe Turan) but overall if you want the best bet I would choose HLC or Pekiner.
  5. A very narrow area indeed. I know your hair is grown out a bit so it's more pronounced, but it's as if the alopecia is literally attacking your donor in some of those pics. That being said I do think your "pattern" is pretty much set at this stage. Looks like a future NW5/6 as you alluded to. As far as a transplant goes it could work, but the donor makes me nervous. At the end of the day even though you still have a decent amount of (albeit thin) hair at almost 37 you still have a lot of life left to live. By 57 and without meds things certainly aren't going to get BETTER for your back and sides and what could eventually be a transplanted hairline. I'm sorry Fin didn't work out for you. Same here. If only scientists cared enough about hair loss research/drugs maybe we would have had something better in the last 25 years.
  6. He said he got 5,000 grafts in his other thread. This was a complete botch/overharvest job. First of all no more than 2500-3000 grafts should ever really be done in one day. I'm also willing to bet this guys donor beforehand wasn't very strong. Sure maybe the patient wasn't as knowlegable about what to look out for and what questions to ask, but at the end of the day the doctor to an oath to be a doctor. Which means he should have known better. To the OP, did the trasplant turn out alright at least? For the donor I would look into SMP or use dermatch.
  7. This really should be something that is considered more. Looks amazing, and without the worry and maintenance of the hairline, it saves so much time and worry imo. @DrTBarghouthi Is the system applied with tape or glue?
  8. No way you can safely take more than 5000 from him IMO, and yes the humps are crucial. Any ethical surgeon who looks at his advanced hair loss should always leave some room for the possibility that the humps drop later in life.
  9. 4000-4500 just for the hairline!??? No way. They must have meant frontal third and some midscalp. Your donor capacity is prob no more than 5000 as it is.
  10. Am I the only one who thinks Finasteride isn't completely necessary for this guy? He has virtually no hair left on his head to begin with. I get how some docs (i.e. Pekiner) are just super conservative and want to try all they can to save whatever they can, but to me, going on Finasteride isn't exactly a small thing imo. It's medication basically forever. If this were 10 years ago and the guy was still NW3 or so, entirely different situation. P.S. to the OP, I can almost guarantee you that anything more than 5000 grafts in that donor will be too much. Be careful and cautious with how many grafts you give up.
  11. Herjavec definitely had a transplant done up front to fill in that bald spot a couple of years ago. I remember seeing a photo of him with wet hair and you could tell work was done. Then like all celebrities he has a great crew that gets his hair TV ready everytime.
  12. Not sure how many multi hair grafts were in the final count, but generally speaking, given the fineness of your hair, this was too large of an area to cover for just 2999 grafts. Really poor planning. Never seen a post op like that where grafts are so far spaced apart. Reciple for disaster.
  13. What was the final price for the 3300 grafts? Also I'm always curious about the beard grafts - so you will basically have to have a keep a beard for the rest of your life to cover up the scars?
  14. When I first discovered Dr. Ferreira to me he became one of those rare doctors that gave me hope about a future transplant for myself. Caring, concerned and passionate about what he does. I also never saw a doctor who was as much of a hair transplant/hair nerd as myself which I also loved to see. He is currently at the top of my list. As far as the OP goes, you are in great hands and you should take a minute to appreciate that even if you are currently upset with your situation. This all being said, the bottom line is this thread should not have been created bc 6 months is simply TOO early. No real panic mode should set in until the 8-9 month mark IMO. I will say though that the frontal post-op does not look too densily packed in anyway, so for 3500 grafts I'm wondering just how much was implanted into your crown area. There was no post-op photo of that.
  15. That's called a maturing hairline. No need whatsoever to jump on a medication like Finasteride for the remainder of your life.... (yet)
  16. BUMP Over three weeks since discontinuing use and still not sure if I am seeing any regrowth from the damage this Regenepure shampoo caused.
  17. Can anyone else chime in and help please? It has now been a week since stopping Regenepure and my hair has shown no signs of coming back from the terrible shed it caused. I have to put in Dermmatch just to go to work. I went to the dermatologist who had absolutely no clue and says he doesn't know anything about a hair loss treatment that's not FDA approved. He said it should be "fine" and that no ingredients in the shampoo look harmful but I'm very nervous right now that this shampoo damaged my hair somehow. We all have heard those Rogaine horror stories about how it damaged people's hairlines
  18. Thanks Jon. Definitely stopping it for now. Maybe down the road I'll try it one more time at 2x a week but right now if I lose anymore hair I'll need a wig
  19. At 31 after nearly 8 years of hair loss I finally decided to try a concealer. No product looked more amazing and well-reviewed than what seems like the front runner of hair fibers - TOPPIK. I ordered some online and finally the other night I had time to play around and practice with it for a good 20 minutes. I was pretty amazed with the results, yet sad of course, knowing that it has come to the point of having to pay to spray fake hair into my head while every other friend of mine doesn't have a shred of loss. ANYWAY... onto the more serious and who knows, maybe a life threatening situation... With the great results, came a huge problem with this Toppik. Turns out that after the 20 minutes of doing up my hair that night, I began noticing a slight burning sensation in my upper chest. Coughing was happening too. Yep, you guessed it, even though I tried not to, I clearly inhaled some of this stuff, and it affected me, big time. The keratin fibers or whatever you want to call them, whether because of an allergy or just being bad to inhale, made me feel extremely unwell. I even woke up in the middle of the night for 10 minutes all congested and sniffling a bit. I went to work the next day and felt very unwell all day. I did not start feeling completely better until 48 hours later. My main questions are simply... What does everyone think this was? I can't be the only one this has ever happened to Maybe this was some sort of allergy to the wool (fibers)? How does everyone else deal with spraying on Toppik or any hair fibers for that matter? Do you hold your breath? I am also thinking another popular concealer called Dermatch might be a better option as this is a completely different kind of product. I know there is another popular hair fiber product called CABOKI but wouldn't this be very similar? If it was the wool i'm allergic to, then keratin fibers are out for me. Sad. Can't even spray fake hair into my head to get a confidence boost Please help.
  20. @Jon86, did you regrow the hair that Regenepure caused you to shed? I have a big issue with this shampoo right now as well as after only just 10 days it has caused me to shed a tremendous amount in the front. Very noticeable. I know this might be a normal thing as with many hair loss products but I don't have the patience to deal with months of this. I stopped using it immediately and just want my old hair back now. Very worried.
