  1. I think at this time you still seem to have quite a bit unknowns and questions/doubts. Besides looking at your past few posts looks like the expectation might be little too much!. I suggest take ur time think over it carefully and then only venture into the HT after all your questions have been answered satisfactorily. Good luck.
  2. it will at least be another 3-4 months before u even see some growth, it takes timefortransplanted hairs to grow, so relax, as E39 said soak ur head in water for few minutes and rub off those scabs.
  3. Very nice results at 1 year David, it has come out nice and natural. Dr. Bhatti did really work his magic on you.
  4. Rashid 1. Looking at your pictures - my hair loss was definitely more than yours!. 2. You definitely seem to have more donor hairs than I did. If it makes u feel any better I felt the same way like u did before. Good luck with our decision.
  5. Thanks Bro..(Htsoon) appreciate all the kind words. here is the link to my initial thread!, Exactly as HTsoon said..I do understand why people advise caution...but sometimes it can be very discouraging.......please browse thru all the posts in my starter thread (link below) - Rashid and others see what you will get when U ask question on this forum...some were encouraging but some were very discouraging...guess based on their own experiences. Not saying anyone is right or wrong..but it goes to show that opinions on each case could be very polarized. But having said that I really appreciate being a part of this forum, both via forum posts and via PM's I received good suggestions and support, i am ever thankful. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178561-2000-grafts-enough-norwood-class-6-a.html
  6. Htsoon - In fact I did, and most people said ''No Hope''!!!. If I find it I will post that thread link here. In fact many doctors including Turkish ones said I am not a candidate. Several US surgeons were initially enthusiastic and when I mentioned I am a physician they somehow stopped responding!. Some offered FUT as well but I had decided that I would not have a smiley faced scar if the FUT failed and then face a situation with no hairs and bad scar....in short there were lots of things to consider...but eventually I took the plunge...after researching around and finding someone who has done plenty of Norwood 6/7's successfully with BHT experience. Before I plunged in -I decided to myself that even if it does not turn out to be a good transplant - I would at least live with the satisfaction of having tried and failed!.
  7. Absolutely Dutchie - I am so glad I did, feeling of having never tried would have forever remained in my mind if I didn't. And I am glad so far it has worked out well!. And thankfully the hairline and beyond the HT has turned out well!, even at this stage no one can tell these are transplanted hairs. And from shiny head which could have been used as a reflection mirror to this..... its been a great transformation!!. That's why I said if I were in Rashid's shoes, I would have definetly given it a go. Again its an individual decision after having weighed pros and cons.
  8. I was in similar situation and got my hair and confidence restored. Now.... regarding what my hair is gonna look long term?, I don't know, probably not much different than at say 6 months from now. Just to show what can be done with limited donor hairs like mine using combo scalp and beard hair I attach my before and approximately few days less than 4 months picture. Crown has almost similar density as in mid scalp. I am happy even if growth stops here. I can see existing hairs thickening and more finer hairs still growing. Rashid35's donor is definetly not worse than mine!.....think about it!. picture 1 = back donor picture 2 = top picture 3= front and top at nearly 4 months after HT under Dr. Arika Bansal.
  9. Vinay - I think looking at some early growth you will have nice result. I have noticed your doctor uses something called as PERFECT - i which seems similar to DHT/Direct Hair Transplant. Either way the time from extraction to implantation of the grafts is minimized. Happy growing, praying for the success of your HT.
  10. I personally think u graft is a advertisement gimmick. Again this is my personal opinion given tissue ''disruption'' by blunt instruments tends to be more than with sharp.
  11. tried to reply to your message this is what it said!.
  12. Typically face/scalp heals well and fast and inmost instances without any scar or pigmentation. Previously there was discussion regarding Ugraft and people well known in HT were of opinion that the punch is only advertizing gimmick. Having been a physician for more than 20 years it is my personal belief that blunt tipped pulling instruments produce more tissue disruption. I am unsure what is the logical physiology behind those punches causing less scars. Again it is my personal opinion.
  13. That's exactly what u should be avoiding at this time, again its my personal opinion.
  14. Ha, ha. I went for FUE so that I could avoid a huge smiley face on the back of my head>>>hum..
  15. Rashid35 -its an unregulated industry, therefore it is filled with all sorts of good and bad people. Sometimes it is also bad planning for future hairloss both by the patient and the doctor. This is where the experience of people who have had HT before comes in, they have done the research and have had results so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel. but again this could go wrong too!, as you may have heard in the case of a doctor from Turkey who is/was recommended on this forum who had multiple cases of no or low yield growth and other issues. When a patient comes to a doctor trusting him/her with his/her illness or suffering it is important and ethically binding to treat that patient to the best of your ability and not think about fleecing them of their hard earned money. But alas..not everyone is ethical in this business just like in any other.
  16. I guess they mean for framing the face with thin coverage elsewhere it will only require 3500 - 4000 grafts. But full coverage would require 6-7k grafts. DHT = Direct Hair Transplant. Means the recipient cite incisions/holes are made first and then the grafts are extracted from occipital area and re-implanted immediately into the reciepient holes/slits,except for the hairlines where they wait till they can have some single grafts before planting the hairline. This way the time grafts spend outside the body is limited and this reduces the chances of grafts not growing. the price works out to 1.02 US Dollar per graft, generally for a good surgeon price in US ranges between 7-10$ per grafts and more for Beard or body hair Txp. The grafts quoted appears to be consistent with the difference of the grafts quoted by Dr. Umar and Dr.Arika when I consulted!, don't know the reason but Dr. Arika did quote less number of grafts than Dr.Umar and ended up implanting the quoted number of grafts pluss 300 odd more. Little more than 9000 grafts wereimplanted, since we had agree to around 8750-8800 I was not charged for 300 odd grafts which exceeded the estimate by 300/400. I would still say go by what HTsoon said, go to a local clinic after growing the hair for 4-6 weeks and get urself evaluated, and also send the pictures back to the surgeons who have previously agreed to do your HT,lets see what they say. Nothing better than in-person consult. Though I personally still think that u will be a candidate for HT given everything. You can always choose a different surgeon to do your HT, you dont have to go with the one who evaluated you personally.
  17. No harm in trying out branded prescription version for few months, if ur still loosing and receding then that will be a different story. I do see some temple recession compared to last year. But I would advise you against HT at this time. small or large session. You are telling us that your father is still receding both in his crown and frontally at age 50!. I would say no HT now because someone in trying to create aggressive hairline for you might just use up enough grafts at this time to leave you with thinned out donor when u actually start balding in crown and behind your transplanted hairline in future.
  18. I cannot agree more with above Rashid35. As I mentioned many HT specialists diagnosed me with retrograde alopecia just by looking at the shaved down/trimmed down hair. In person consultation and testing proved the diagnosis wrong. I think overall as HTsoon said, use cap or hat or whatever - grow your hair for 4-6 weeks and take pictures as instructed and then we will know!, though nothing can beat in person consultation. (after growing your hair). look at my pre-op pictures, if you think you have same amount or better hair than mine (pre-op) then in my ''personal'' opinion you could be a HT candidate.
  19. I Agree, INR pricing would be more economical. Why don't u call the clinic and talk to them?. I am sure they would give you their exact price which would be competetive. More than pricing its extremely important to go for quality, but as you said when one can get quality at affordable price then that's great!!!. Also check your PM, I sent you one. Also I agree with vinaymeiux.......make sure you meet 1/2 patients if possible of any HT doctor and review all their results. It is important that you research well, One cannot emphasize that part enough.
  20. @HTsoon - I agree with ur opinion, I also think he is doable with some combo BHT. But has to really plan well and dig in deep (research) before he lets anyone touch his precious grafts!.
  21. @Rashid35 - my HT surgeon was NOT Dr. Bhatti, I did consult with Dr. Bhatti initially who told me not to have the HT. (I think I was little unrealistic in my expectation when I mailed him which may have skewed him in rejecting my case). Again Dr. Bhatti also thought I had retrograde alopecia. This analysis proved wrong when I went for in-person consultation after growing my hair for 6weeks. (again goes to say that pics by themselves can be deceptive to even an expert's eye!) Please check your PM, I do not think posting links here is allowed so I sent you the details of Dr. Arika Bansal M.D who did my surgery to your inbox. Good luck.
  22. With 3600 grafts you can probably cover frontal 1/2 with decent density. for the crown you will need more. As you mentioned personal face to face consult is the best way to go.
  23. @Thisguy1 - #1 So far I have seen beard hairs grow little faster than scalp grafts, however so far (keeping my fingers crossed) I have not seen any significant change in texture and appearance of beard hairs compared to scalp ones. (again this depends on your beard hair quality). #2 Beard hairs grow long as well and relatively DHT resistant, It is important to use both beard and scalp hairs together especially if your beard hairs are coarse so that the transplanted hairs donot appear coarse. As many surgeons - so many opinions onto how the beard hairs should be used. Most clinics that I contacted told me that they DO NOT use it in frontal 1/3 rd at all and use it mainly for middle portion and some in crown. Again this is what most clinics said. I have seem some hair transplants where hairlines have received beard grafts looking like ''Broom Bristles'', in my humble opinion planting too many beard grafts causes the hairline to look coarse and unnatural. For example look at these threads of patients' of Dr. Umar. I will let you draw your own conclusions. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/181433-nw-7-baldness-transformed-using-ugraft-body-hair-transplant-dr-u.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/179012-patient%92s-hair-transplant-repair-results-dr-umar-before-after-11-000-grafts.html
  24. There are plenty of surgeons recommended on the forum. Do thorough research before u plunge in. You seem to have good donor area density. Careful planning could give you excellent results. I got it done by Dr. Arika Bansal, M.D, at Eugenix Hair Clinic India and went with an surgeon who is not yet recommended on this forum, but in my belief has excellent results in taking up NW6/7 cases. I am very happy so far. 4 months out >9,000 grafts, link to my thread is in my signature below. I did research doctors, clinics, their patients etc.. for quite sometime before making up my mind as to what procedure and which doctor. One cannot emphasize enough about the importance of doing diligent research with regards to the above. This forum is is always here to help you out. Goodluck.
