  1. Don't worry it will all feel better!, every day the bad feelings will wane. You will get used to your new look even before you realize it yourself.
  2. For me it was never about weather I had chosen the best surgeon or not. I knew I had chosen the best!. What put me into a bit of depressive mood was that somehow in a remote corner of my mind I had a feeling that I was kind of ''cheating'' on how I look. (may sound little wierd, but that's how I felt). Part of it was anxiety of how things would turn out and what if the procedure was a failure, what if only some hairs grew and other did not making me look wierd!!!. That is when my angel wife helped me out, just as Dr. Feller pointed out traveling with your dear one would ease the anxiety.
  3. Yes bro, coming along decent so far, after initial shock loss now having new sprout, just used No 2 to buzz cut the unruly ones. But will grow it long from now on. Thought I would post the update towards 4th or 5 th month. Its been 3 months and 4 days since the HT. here is just one pic of the current hair growth. (by the side is my head before HT!!!, its been a nice change since!!, I am very happy so for. Actually site has been so slow.....its pain to even upload one picture!. And travel to India is not too bad, try avoid traveling in peak summer or peak winter. Choose Delta,JET,Qatar or Emirates - Don't fly AA or United (I have had bad experience). There are direct flights from Chicago, Newark and NY to New Delhi. Good luck.... and RU considering any European guys for crown work?.
  4. Ah!, how did I miss your recent results?. Looks fabulous!, very happy for you. I think it will get even better with time. Have you zeroed in on a surgeon for your #2? or should I say#3?.
  5. The growth % seems to be around 50% so far, yes I agree that frontal hairline is see through in harsh lighting. But it does not look unnatural at all. My advice is still the same. Wait for 12-18 months re-assess and if you still want to go for 2 nd HT then consider FUE with a reputed surgeon. All the best bro, it does look better than at 7 months IMO.
  6. Good. Finally. That was not hard/painful to explain was it?. Thanks for clarifying things to the forum members.
  7. Questions have not been answered yet!!!.
  8. Most people are questioning ''switching the doctor/proceduralist'' not the talent of the doctor. Honestly none of the questions have been answered so far by the doctors. I myself have defended the doctor saying Feller cannot possibly hire someone unless they have stellar credentials and skills. So please lets focus on the main issues here, not everybody is trying to crucify the doctor, nor is there a conspiracy angle here ---forum wants answers to some legitimate questions. I personally respect Dr. Bloxam's opinions on this forum and he is always thoughtful and usually comprehensive in his posts and responses...silence to these questions is perplexing.
  9. David didgive explanation as to why the thread was LOCKED not DELETED (my bad) ...and apparently there were behind th scene communication about this patient and the doctor. At that time I was happy with the explnation..but having seen multiple other threads about the malpractice by some doctors I suppose may be that person was right in claiming that he was cheated for number of grafts?. When I saw this thread it reminded me of the other thread immediately. Again thread was LOCKED not deleted here is the link: - reason given was posting under duplicate/second account or name. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/179083-horrible-hair-transplant-experience-i-feel-cheated.html
  10. Previously there was a similar thread posted with the poster actually using HD pictures to count number of incisions!,....the post/thread was evetually deleted!!!.
  11. I suspect this is a not so uncommon practice in this business, very unfortunate, I was lucky that my doctor not only gave me correct graft counts but also when she exceeded the graft counts/placements by 300 odd graft she did not charge for those extra grafts.....I even saw her discouraging a patient from getting HT and advising other one to go for less number of grafts than the patient thought he needed. People should avoid such unethical practices .... but how would a patient know unless we have threads like this one exposing such practices?.....so naming the surgeon becomes important. also any documentation to show that he quoted the number of grafts or the credit card bill (with blacked out names and numbers) would help I suppose!.
  12. Agree with you Mick50, but Bill i suppose is basing it on few facts like he has been chosen by Dr. feller to be a partner and he wouldn't choose ''ANY'' partner...that too when he already has a successful practice. Also Bill has worked with Dr. Blake as a co-moderator. But I agree the practice has to be transparent and has to respond to this thread in detail about their procedures...whilst it is also important that all prospective clients also make doubly sure before they undergo the HT as to who will do the work!, preferably in written format.
  13. @leeda, I had similar hair situation - went for HT and so far happy with my results. Even though these are early days the doc was able to harvest close to 4K scalp hair and for mixed in with beard hairs was able to cover the whole area. Though final result is yet to be realized I think I will have decent hair density and growth. As some have mentioned........getting HT in US would be very pricey for the amount of grafts required. You can try other countries like Turkey, India or even Pakistan which might work out cheaper. Given the limited donor if I were you I would not go for FUT. Just my 2 cents.
  14. Would you please rotate these pics upright please?. might get better feedback with more people being able to see and compare.
  15. For people with hair loss, a promising option | Zee News n experiments with mouse and human hair follicles, Angela M. Christiano and colleagues found that drugs that inhibit the Janus kinase (JAK) family of enzymes promote rapid and robust hair growth when directly applied to the skin. The study raises the possibility that drugs known as JAK inhibitors could be used to restore hair growth in multiple forms of hair loss such as that induced by male pattern baldness, and additional types that occur when hair follicles are trapped in a resting state. Two JAK inhibitors have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. One is approved for treatment of blood diseases (ruxolitinib) and the other for rheumatoid arthritis (tofacitinib). Both are being tested in clinical trials for the treatment of plaque psoriasis and alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. "What we've found is promising, though we haven't yet shown it is effective for male pattern baldness," said Dr. Christiano. "More work needs to be done to test formulations of JAK inhibitors specially made for the scalp to determine whether they can induce hair growth in humans." The research is published in the online edition of Science Advances.
  16. Agree Dr. Bhatti and Dr.Radha have had plenty of good results, but you are visiting Bengaluru in south south-west of India, there are no HT docs in Blore who are recommended there. But interacted with quite a few and really liked Dr. Madhukumar and Dr. Venkat, (bear in mind both of them are not yet recommended on HTN, doesn't mean they are not good). I finally went ahead with Eugenix Dr. Arika Bansal. I am very happy, I do have advanced NW6/7 baldness which was addressed well by Dr. Arika in my opinion. You can check them out, they are located in New Delhi. (again not yet recommended by HTN, but their work is of top notch quality from my personal experience) All the best with your decision, and you are right,it is possible to get HT at much cheaper price than in USA, especially keeping an eye on the quality of the work, I personally feel that given the number of patients some Indian doctors see and treat their clinical skills are always going to be superior. (again this is my personal opinion).
  17. agree redness lasts 3-4 weeks, but there is a subtle difference in color of the recipient areas which you can notice if you examine your scalp carefully and this slight discoloration lasted 6-8 weeks for me.
  18. all of them don't have to fall, it is variable. some people loose 100% some minority loose only 5%.
  19. @HTsoon - thanks brother - that's what my doctor said. High resolution pictures are posted in my album on HT Network here: Hair Restoration Social Network - Hair Loss and Transplant Photos Texturally I don't feel any difference between scalp and beard hairs, yes you are right almost 70% of those white hairs are beard hairs.
