The "safe zone" term in hair transplant surgery is a fallacy. The term is deceptive. The hair follicles on the scalp decrease in diameter with age. We have raw data on that in non-AGA subjects. Many people furthermore do experience a loss of density in the safe zone. Then again, we are just buying "time", right .

HT doctors don't really have the knowledge to research and develop a cure. The overwhelming majority of HT doctors don't even have basic hair follicle biology knowledge. Dr. Bessam Farjo has recently started something called HairClone, HairClone | Working to make hair loss history Although it's nothing concrete, they are mostly talking about what "might be possible". Keep your eyes out on Kyocera & Riken & Organ Technologies. Way more exciting. They are aiming for human clinical trials very soon. Here is a interview with them which is primarily about the scientific aspect of their endeavor but also covers commercial aspects; If they manage to culture these cells properly without losing their signature expression they will most likely succeed. Observations heavily support their approach. Think of Jahoda his experiment with DS cells and the unique properties of the hair follicle in terms of regeneration & plasticity. So hair cloning is realistically possible in the near future. My prediction is that it will also eventually translate to (full) automatization. Meaning that human hands will simply be replaced. They also talk about that in the interview. That will be a huge threat to doctors, not the hair cloning per se.

I have tried it for a pretty long period of time. Worked well at maintaining my hair and thickening. It's not approved though so use at your own risk. Finasteride should be the first treatment everyone should look at.

Come on.. Comparing Intercytex to this lol. Intercytex couldn't even retain gene expression. If Dr. Tsuji is able to culture these cells he is probably going to be able to make hair follicles. The science is extremely sound and legit. This is shown too in vivo (humans) as evidenced by regeneration above the mesenchymal or underneath the epithelial part in human hair follicles. I have got a great hair transplant but it's about damn time the HT industry gets crushed. This may be it. I believe it will. Will still take several years though. Hope for NW6 baldites is right here. If I were a HT doctor I would shit bricks now, their position is being threatened now. I don't think most realize how much potential this has .

I don't unfortunately. I agree to remain somewhat skeptical but this is really exciting. I mean the hair follicle is unique as an organ in these sense that it has regenerative capacities. Like you I agree that they will probably grow a hair follicle but that doing this on a mass scale will be tricky. That being said I assume most of it will be automated in some high cutting edge fashion. Besides the method which seems sound (making use of stem cells to mimic the fetal period), the partnership behind this is no joke either..

I can say I haven't been excited in a long time.. But this is a very good development. And yeah 20K.. It surely ain't going to be cheap .

Japan offers expedited trials for regenerative therapy like this. Trials can be done at a much faster and quicker pace in Japan. This is being done in Japan for now. You would have to travel to Japan. A small specimen of hair follicles would get taken out from your donor area. That would get shipped to a cell processing factory. They would dissect your hair follicles there and take two type of (stem) cells and culture them and add them together. Out of that hair follicle primordiums would arise which could then be injected into your scalp giving rise to fully developed hair follicles. Control of hair density is a big advantage of this contrary to the current HT practices that can't match native hair density. Aside from that the other advantage obviously is that you don't have the problems of limited hair follicles anymore. We'll have to see obviously, but these guys are not joking around. This is advanced next-era regenerative therapy with the use of stem cells.

20+ years is unrealistic imo. Dr. Tsuji is beasting forward with the highly renowned Riken Institution while also teaming up with a billionaire company. Top of the crop in terms of organ regeneration. Statistically this has much chance of working out imo. Observations tell us much in science. The era of regenerative therapy is upon us. And I believe the hair follicle will be one of the first to pluck the fruits of that. High plasticity and regenerative capacity.

I'm personally not really a man of hope.This isn't false hope like with all other treatments though, but real hope. Something that really has big chances of working out. I personally wouldn't be surprised if they are actually going to be able to grow hair. I even find it likely.

Didn't post a while on this site because my mission was done here but felt this was pretty important. For people that don't know who Dr. Tsuji is. He is pretty much the most accomplished researcher in terms of hair follicle regeneration. The research institution where he works Riken, is extremely cutting-edge that have some very intelligent people walking around. I think this is pretty much the point where the hair transplant industry will start to get threatened. Changes are most likely coming. If anyone will be able to get something marvelous done, it's this guy with his team. This is real hope imo.

It's funny how everything is still heavily driving towards FUE. Even with people marketing FUT as barbaric today. Beautiful lol! I also see a more directed marketing towards robotic surgery and advancements towards there. Sites like BTH and Spencer are a example of this. I can see the direction they are driving towards. FUT will be a niche nitpick or is already one. FUE is rising and like the data already clearly says it's obvious; FUE > FUT popularity. Simply said both demand and supply are driving towards FUE. I'm curious to next census results but my guess is easily a 60+% edge from FUE towards FUT.

What I find amazing is that the grafts on your temples are not really growing well so far? However the grafts that were put into your native area have contributed to an astounding transformation. It looks like it's rather 5K grafts or something! You didn't start finasteride right or did you? I'm literally baffled with this one lol. Anyway congrats man, very happy for you!

That particular case is weird. But the donor area isn't (always) resistant to quality deterioration or miniaturization, that is a very fallacious generalization. Anyway Doganay used to be recommended here until recently. Apparently he had some issues in quality. These clinics are extremely busy so perhaps it can get a quantity over quality issue. Problems may certainly arise if clinics prioritize quantity over quality. It is of utmost importance obviously that the people involved in the operation are skilled and trained, whether that is a technician or a doctor doesn't matter imo. You don't want to have a "noobie" extracting or implanting your grafts. That being said I'm still confident in Doganay his skill. Doganay worked on my head (implantation) and one technician performed my extractions. Do your research very well and keep your options open for several clinics/doctors. Find a doctor that you think is most suitable for you. Don't look at one particular case. Start researching thoroughly :cool: , is my advice. If you have any other questions just shoot them!

Jup thanks guys. Yeah doubt anyone would know I have had a HT to be honest. Very pleased. I knew it was going to turn awesome as long as my yield would be good, and that has turned out well I guess .

How can you even say this is a nice result based on these pictures provided? I can't grasp that. Picture one he has his hair pulled backwards, picture 3 he combs his hair forward. Could be easily a mediocre or bad result.

Biggest lie? That the donor area is resistant to miniaturization or is immune to deterioration. Complete joke. Some young patients that go for these mega FUE sessions that deviate from mid-low occipital scalp are going to be very unhappy in the future. Some of them are going to have problems with their recipient, no doubt. It's not only AGA that comes into play, but simple deterioration due to aging and it is hypothesized that senescent alopecia plays a role too (indicative evidence). FUT has a clear advantage over this in comparison to FUE imo, as it takes generally the "strongest" hairs from the donor. Depends on individual cases though obviously. Just look at Erdogan for example and how much he deviates from the mid-low occipital region. But yeah the redness is a fallacy too. Mine lasted like 8 months .

Anyway will definitely update once more but that will be the final update around the 14-16 month mark!
