11 months on 8/18/16. So just 2-days shy. Happy with my results. I do notice a little bit of thinning behind the transplanted areas. I still am taking .25mg Finasteride daily and Kirkland Minoxidil foam 1x or 2x/day. I believe my crown area has improved. Attached are my before pics (from 2012) prior to any hair transplants and now. Comments welcomed! -
Gel to enhance illusion of density
hairlosscpa replied to BaldPatient2's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I would go with pomade over gel that gives a matte finish. Check out the Redken or Aveda line. With pomade, it takes away the frizz but gives a clean/dry look which would in a way create an illusion of density. I know you're sick of concealers and so am I, but what I do is apply pomade to my dry hair and then use Caboki. Add a little more pomade after and it usually turns out pretty well. -
Dried wounds on HT place

Who was your surgeon? Work does not look refined and your first pic may be folliculitis. Maybe check with your HT doctor? -
Hair transplantation to the young patients
hairlosscpa replied to ALEXD's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Is that really the same guy 8 years later at 33 years old? I've noticed with people who get HT, white hair tends to pop up faster. I have no real evidence but just something I feel like I notice. -

Thank you all for the feedback! I'll update this thread again around 9/10 months. -
Great natural looking result. However, should this really be called a "scarless" closure? "Closure Technique : "Trichophytic" scarless FUT Procedure"

Attached are my 8 month* post op pics. Hair still maturing and overall can't really complain. I'll try to get pics of my donor area soon. I do notice minor gaps in my hairline that I didn't really notice before but this could just be me over analyzing. If you scroll a few posts back you can see my pre op pics. Please let me know your thoughts! *Header says 7 months, my mistake. These are my 8 month post-op pics. -

Thank you all for your comments. Appreciate it! ontop, here is my graft breakdown: Final Count- 2510 grafts 1's. 840 2's. 1395 3's. 220 4's. 55 I've still been taking .25mg Propecia every other day along with 5% Rogaine foam 1x/day. Unfortunately, I feel like my crown has lost a tiny bit of ground but I have also noticed increased in shedding which hopefully means regrowth soon. I have probably been continuing this regimen for 5 months. -

Attached are pre-op and immediate post-op pics sent by Dr. Vories and my 6 month post op pics taken in my bathroom. Growth is getting better. Hopefully more maturation and thickness to come. Light definitely makes a huge difference with the "illusion of density" factor. -
I would continue. Shedding is normal. In simple terms it's pushing out the old hair to bring in new, thicker hair. Propecia has the same effect so it's probably a combination of both. General consensus on here is to tough it out for at least 6 months before assessing. Good luck!

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I'll be 5 months post-op next week and I'm also noticing uneven growth in the temples. My hairloss was somewhat minimal, mostly receded hairline and like you said, hairline looks very defined when out of the shower but my left temple is lagging in growth/density. Good luck with the growth, I still believe 6 months is relatively early. Another half a year for some growth and much maturation to come.

Timing for hair transplant growth
hairlosscpa replied to win200's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I'm about 4.5 months post-op and experiencing the same. Density is adequate but still hoping for much more density/maturation. I'm also not really seeing any new hair sprout. Wishing the best for you guys. -

My Experience w/Dr. Vories - 2,500 grafts
hairlosscpa replied to hairlosscpa's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Attached is my 4.5 month progress. I feel that my hairline is looking thicker and starting to fill in nicely in the area where it has grown. I do feel like there are a few gaps that are noticeable to me but maybe not to the untrained eye. Specifically my right temple area that you will see boxed off in pic #7. I hope this eventually fills in. Still some noticeable thinness in donor area, I'm hoping that resolves soon. Overall I am happy with my progress so far. I have also been using rogaine (minoxidil 5%) 1x/day for about 2 months. I feel that might have made a slight improvement in my crown. My comparison pics are comparing month 4.5 to month 3. I received my first haircut 2 weeks ago. Comments welcomed! -

I don't understand how this is a good/acceptable result with 2700 grafts. As long as the patient is happy I guess? -

Freaking out after hair transplant
hairlosscpa replied to mosd's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Very well said and I completely agree with this. -
Should this affect their recommendation on HTN? I believe Dr. Bloxham is probably an excellent surgeon and we will see that as results are posted. However, until then I don't know if we can just simply take Dr. Feller's word for it, even if everything he said is completely true. Just not how this works in my opinion.

Calling All My Dermmatch And Couvre Experts
hairlosscpa replied to esrec's topic in Shampoos, sprays, and concealers
Based on your pic, which isn't the clearest, I would go with light application of light brown Couvre and then a light application of light brown Toppik/Caboki fibers (you could always order the trial size of the fibers if you need to experiment with colors)
