  1. I pay $12 for 48 pills of generic Propecia at Costco. Maybe you're better off taking a full pill (although it's 1mg vs 1.25 splitting proscar). But at least you know you're getting a full 1mg instead of splitting a generic pill where the dosage might not be spread evenly, thereby reducing effectiveness?
  2. I never see Dr. Radha's clinic posting results or her getting mentioned at all on this forum anymore. I thought clinics had to post at least one result over a certain period of time to comply with recommendation standards? Also with the lack of communication to the patients on this thread, I'm surprised she is still recommended.
  3. Hi All, Does anyone have any information on if there is a correlation between using Tretinoin. 05% (mild topical Retin-A gel) and hairloss? I plan to start using it soon but unsure if it could have any impact on accelerating loss? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the responses. Great to see a Doctor's personal viewpoint on this subject matter.
  5. Looks good man. Is there any way you can brush your hair back to cover some of the crown instead of brushing your hair to the side? That way there is some hair around the crown for the toppik to cling on to. You can also apply a light layer of couvre to the crown, brush your hair back and then add some toppik to that area for max coverage.
  6. No problem man. The steps you described would work best. But when you put the concealer on sort of re-do your hairstyle with the caboki in it to evenly distribute it and remove excess dust, then put hairspray. It'll look the most natural. I don't know of any local stores that sell this stuff but you might be able to do 1-day shipping through Amazon depending on where you are. Good luck bro.
  7. Rainforest Volumizing Shampoo by The Body Shop. Not many chemicals, paraben-free and it really does help with the volume and texture of my hair. From The Body Shop website: The shampoo is specially developed for fine hair. Our Rainforest Volume range helps boost volume without weighing hair down. •Leaves hair looking fuller and shinier •No silicones, no sulphates, no parabens and no colourants •Eco-conscious formula
  8. Spray thickeners in my opinion look very paint like and unnatural on existing hair (dull, chalky coverage). Haven't tried that specific one but I use to use "Fullmore" by Toppik which was similar. I still think a comb over and powder concealer is your best bet. You cn even use a combination of both, a little couvre on completely bald areas, do the combover and apply Caboki/Toppik. If black was "too" dark, dark brown might be similar. However, based on the pictures your posted, dark brown might be okay for you though.
  9. Comb over with a powder concealer such as Caboki/Toppik would be the easiest in my opinion. There is a learning curve when starting to use concealer since you initially apply more than needed, so less is always better. If you can somehow pull off a comb-over, over the transplant area and then use Caboki, that may be your best bet. I attached the only pics I could find. This is my using couvre. This is longer than a 1 guard, more like a 2/3. Without concealer my hair looked very thin and sparse.
  10. I recommend Couvre as its easier to maneuver and manipulate due to the "cream/lotion" consistency. I did it on a 1 guard and it worked. Damp the sponge a little with water and then add some Couvre to it and blend it lightly around your areas and into your existing hair. Good luck!
  11. I use Caboki and I find it better than Toppik and Nanogen. It's more natural and does not contain ammonia. Buying it directly through the Caboki website is cheaper, sometimes close to $10 cheaper as you can build up reward points. Especially when you do a subscription. Not sure if Caboki ships internationally through their website.
  12. I know hair cloning is moving along, but if I were a HT doctor, I simply wouldn't care for it as it threatens my business.
  13. Hi All, Just had a random thought and wanted to gain other people's perspective. I know we all want to obtain that cure for hairloss, a pill, hair cloning, a foam more powerful than Minoxidil, etc. However, do you think HT doctors are interested in helping us find that cure? I mean think about it, if a cure was to be found, it would put their job and the entire industry out of business. Similar to the analogy of a robot replacing manufacturing jobs. Why would a Manufacturing Lead be interested in increasing efficiency or contributing ideas if it means potentially sacrificing their job in the long-run? We look at HT Doctors to fix our hairloss problems through multiple hair transplants with a monetary cost. They build their career off it and it puts food on the Doctor's table. Those same Doctors have the knowledge to research and develop hairloss cures (which some do), but why would the majority of Doctors want that if it means that cure will eventually put them out of business? Once a cure is found, there is no reason to seek a HT. Why would a HT doctor want to contribute ideas to find or even fund a permanent cure or assist companies in finding that cure? I just feel like its a catch 22 for them which unfortunately hinders progress in finding a permanent hairloss solution. As you can see, there hasn't been a major breakthrough in so long as Finasteride and Minoxidil have been out for decades. No disrespect to any HT doctor, without them I would be in a bad place. Just curious to gain some insight on this random thought I had. Thanks!
  14. My opinion is that the grafts look a bit too spaced out which may not provide the density you seek. However, pics don't tell the full story so I'm probably mistaken. Either way please keep us posted!
  15. Work looks clean and refined. Looking forward to your updates!
  16. Yes sir. If I were to maintain or slow things down drastically for the next 30+ years, I would be extremely happy, haha. I'm only 29, and I know it isn't the smartest thing to have two HT before my 30's as my hair loss can progress exponentially, but overall is really has boosted my confidence which has helped me tremendously in advancing in my career. Thanks again for your comments!
  17. HTsoon, thanks for your comments. I didn't realize the extent the medication was working until I made this thread and performed a comparison. If anything, this whole time I thought I was just maintaining. After my first HT with Dr. True, I was taking 1mg propecia every day and was an amazing responder to it. I attached a pic from 6 months after my first procedure with Dr. True while on 1mg propecia daily. I was on that regimen for 5 months until I had to stop due to sides which I couldn't ignore. That's why I started taking .25mg every other day after my Vories FUE procedure and recently moved my way up to .25mg everyday.
  18. Thanks man. I'll number your questions and answer them accordingly: 1) 1700 grafts FUT 2) My first 3 pics in my initial post are before I started my journey i.e. before any hair transplants with Dr. True and Dr. Vories. I attached 2 more pics BEFORE any procedures. 3) I don't think I had any permanent shockloss, hair looked pretty good 2 years post-op and then it was downhill my third year. I just think I lost more hair as I wasn't taking any meds either. 4) Dr. Vories did lower my hairline and strengthen it. Still higher than my original hairline before I started losing any hair 5) I'm not too sure about the Propecia since I've only been taking .25 mg/day, but my rationale is that something is better than nothing. No sides either. Rogaine has definitely helped a lot. I never had any grafts transplanted to my crown.
  19. I can see what you mean with too low and too straight and the pictures do sort of give off that look. I attached side profile views, in-person it really doesn't seem that way. Haha, Perry Farrell's hair is amazing, no way I can obtain that density.
  20. Hi All, I had a 2,500 graft procedure with Dr. Vories focused on my hairline, midscalp and FUT scar concealment on September 18th, 2015. You can follow my progress in the thread linked in my signature below. I decided to create another thread specifically for my 1 year results. Since my procedure, I have been on .25/mg Propecia every other day (every day since last month) and Kirkland Minoxidil at least 1x/day. My pictures below are in the following order: 1) Pre-op, before any transplants with Dr. True and Dr. Vories (first 3) 2) Pre-op pics before Dr. Vories and 3 years after Dr. True (next 3) 3) Immediate post-op with Dr. Vories (next 3) 4) 1 year progress (last 6) I notice a little inconsistency in the density in my hairline (left side denser than right) but not too noticeable. Overall, I am happy. Please provide your feedback, thanks!
  21. Rawkerboi - I agree, there are some small visible gaps sort of noticeable under harsh lighting. I addressed the gap concern to Dr. Vories and he said he would evaluate at the 1 year mark (which is in 1 week), and any areas where he believes grafts did not take, he would fill in without charge. Not sure if I want to go through with the healing process again but I'll see. Thanks for your comments!
