  1. I am sorry you had a bad experience. but you say you have hair loss in your family and couldn't you really figure out on your own that you would lose more hair and additional transplants would be necessary. I have been thinning for 20 yrs and been considering a ht for the last ten yrs. I waited this long to see how the baldness plays out. This is cosmetic surgery and you made your choice. you can say the dr sucked and he's unethical and he very well maybe but in my opinion you were really dumb to do a ht at this young age without taking meds. be a man already. it does suck what happened to you and I feel your pain and I thank you for the warning on the Doc you used. I will never use him. But you are still young and you should have enough donor hair left to do another procedure. I really wish you the best but keep into account that this is ongoing battle for you. if you genetically predisposed to be bald then you will continue to lose hair for the rest of your life. so be prepared for more surgeries and using fin in your future. Best of luck and I really hope it works out for you...
  2. were you taking any kind of anabolic steroid or testosterone boosting supplement? I agree with others that you have to take something to slow down future baldness.
  3. I think less of dr. feller now after this thread. I think more of Dr. Bhatti now. If I wasn't locked into another surgeon I would fly to him for fue than stay in my hometown for a procedure with dr. feller. its just my opinion and I am entitled to it.
  4. so after reading all this I am inferring if you can get a FUT like result depending on what dr you go to. I like Dr. Feller a lot and would have done a surgery with him in a heart beat but he really wanted me to fut but I really didn't want a scar. I wear a 1 or 2 guard in the summer. I understood his reasoning but it really was just my preference. I found him to be ethical when he said that he wouldn't do an FUE on me because he thinks its for smaller jobs and I needed about 1200 which he thought that would be too much trauma. Dr. F is literally 15m from my house. I also think highly of blake from the forums so it would have been ideal. but as of right now I have a deposit to have my surgery done. I also just developed alopecia areata so my surgery has been postponed indefinitely to see how the AA responds to therapy. Part of me thinks I am just not meant to have a HT. maybe the good lord thinks I am handsome enough and I would have an unfair advantage over mortal men if I were to have my beautiful head of hair back.
  5. Hi Doc, I understood everything you said. I believe you when you say I will get a better yield with FUT and I don't doubt that I might get a better result. All I am saying is that it's cosmetic surgery and I like to wear my hair short so I would get an FUE procedure for that reason. If I can get a FUE good result with no linear scar I will go for that option every time. Honestly its a no brainer to me. BUT if you are telling me in a year or two my FUE hairs will fall out for some reason or I will have major problems then I might change my mind. As of right now though it looks like a very good option and I think I will be happy with the procedure. Information is power and I do value your opinion so please post up your videos about the detriments of FUE.
  6. all this talk doesn't matter.... Its all about preference... if you can get a good looking result with FUE and not have a linear scar. why wouldn't you? that is the bottom line. I have had two consultations with dr feller and he is a likable fellow. But I prefer FUE for me. Just like I prefer coke and he wouldn't be able to sell me pepsi no matter how much better he thinks it is... this is cosmetic surgery so if you get a good cosmetic result from FUE why not go ahead and do it. I don't care about torsion compression velocity transection rates or where the sun sets. I only need about 1200 grafts so I am not a big job and I would want fue so I could wear any style of haircut I choose.
  7. believe it or not. 21 years ago when I was 23 I saw some pics of me in direct sunlight and I felt like my hair was thinning. everyone told me I was nuts but I was right. I slowly thinned out for the next 20 years and now I am going for a hair transplant. my point is only you know your hair. You don't look like you have hair loss but only you know how your hair was 6-12 months ago. If you feel like you might be thinning just keep an eye on it and take pics like this every six months and post them up and get opinions from others.
  8. at this point I have two deposits down. one with dr rahal and one with dr. k. I am pretty much locked into them now. thanks though I have seen some good work coming out of vories lately and that is one heck of a price!
  9. thanks matt for posting up in my thread. appreciate this response
  10. at this point I am going with rahal or konior or both. my date with konior is in july and I have a date with rahal in sept. at this point I am sure either one will do a great job. Like matt said Dr. K wouldn't do FUE unless he could get a top notch result. Dr. K did turn me down 2 years ago because he felt I had a weak donor. he was the only Dr to turn me down. I took propecia like he advised and my donor has gotten a lot better and he said that I am now a candidate. I am confident in either doc. I am only getting 1000 grafts in my hairline which is a lot smaller than I normally see posted up on here. I guess I could have one dr. do the front of my head the another do the back. I could use maybe 500 grafts in the back . Like I said I have no reservations about using either dr. Both of them are of the highest quality and I know I am in good hands.
  11. I told my gf and she has been supportive. don't overthink this but I would just tell her if you have been with her a while and think you are going to stay with her. if you don't tell her and then have a bad result you will be answering a lot of questions about why you didn't trust her enough to tell her. you know how girls are.
  12. you can try topical spiro and a progesterone cream before trying fin. I use them both and really feel like the progesterone cream really helps. I also use a topical fin and my hair loss has stabilized over the last two years based on the doctors I have talked to. the one good thing about oral fin is there is no mess or hassle putting on creams. try the nizoral 2% shampoo. it should help your dandruff.
  13. I'm guessing by the fact that matt hasn't been back to post any complaints about his ht that he may be happy and his results are still great. usually when a ht goes bad or has to be repaired or a 2nd procedure the patient usually comes back on here to get opinions and/or vent.
  14. thinning hair is disgusting. it just looks stupid. a shaved bald head looks better imo, doesn't matter if you work out or not
  15. if you going to do a strip surgery I'd go to feller. nice guy and will do a great job
  16. why don't you try some spiro/ nizoral or a progesterone cream. try one or all of them combined. it should help slow down your hair loss
  17. is it a good or bad idea to topical spiro or propecia/ rogaine on your donor area as well the crown and vertex?
  18. He didn't indicate if it was or not. Every dr I consulted said it was a one day procedure except for dr Koran. He said 2 days and 3500 grafts.
  19. Neither rahal nor konior saw me in person. Feller saw me in person twice in the three years and both times said I needed 1200-1500 grafts in the hairline.
  20. He said my donor area had miniaturized and I should use propecia and rogaine.
  21. have you tried some of the topical remedies available. topical spiro, rogaine and maybe even topical propecia?
  22. So after about 3 years of research and consults I am getting a ht with dr. rahal in sept. I consulted with Feller (twice) and was going to go with him but I really wanted FUE and he's against it. I consulted with the great Dr's in turkey and I liked what I saw but my gf didn't really want to go to turkey. I consulted with a dr in georgia and almost pulled the trigger but decided against it at the last minute. I consulted with dr. konior who said I wasn't a good candidate for a ht I consulted with dr. rahal who said I could use 1500 grafts in my hairline, pretty much consistent with the amount of grafts everyone else said. I went with rahal cause I really liked his hairline work. if there is any advice or insight anyone can offer I would appreciate it. I'd like to post some pics of my head now but don't know how to blot out my face
