  1. Thanks !! No ACell was used. I had used the polytopic that was given to me by his team the first couple days. When I returned home I used Polysporin Heal Fast Formula (Black and Gold tube) as I had a cut on my head 5 years or so back, and my doctor at the time told me to apply that constantly and there'd be no scare, and there wasn't back then. Did the same for my donor area and worked perfectly.
  2. New Thread below! http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184836-fue-w-rahal-2691-grafts.html
  3. Hi Everyone, I had a FUE with Rahal one year ago and wanted to report on my results and hopefully help others considering a procedure. 2691 Total Grafts (612 Single, 1412 Double, 644 Triple, 23 Quad for Approx 5462 Hairs) I could not be happier with the result, and its honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. You are in great hands with Dr Rahal, along with Mike and his team - to me he has proved why he is one of the best out there. I was about a Norwood 5A. I wanted to recreate my hair line which was totally gone to frame my face again. Losing hair on the crown doesnt bother me nor will it in the future so we didnt touch the crown. I chose to focus on the frontal 1/3. I chose FUE because I wanted the option of buzzing my head in the future as well. My donor hair is thick and dark brown which is always a plus. My frontal 1/3 is flawless, and my midscap is thin but better then it was before the procedure. I do have enough for a second FUE if I wanted one in the future he mentioned, but in all honesty for me its perfect just the way it is now, and I think will be for awhile. I use rogaine just before bed and only on the crown to maintain whats left. The most important advice i can give to people considering a procedure - You need to be realistic in what you want to achieve. Given the amount of loss i had, I just wanted to frame my face, thicken up the front 1/3 and top. The crown is not an issue for me, since many men have a thin-bald crown as they age. But of course it may bother others. You need to ask yourself what works for you. Lastly, I frequently shave down to a #1 attachment on the back and sides and there is no visible scarring at all. That in itself was worth all the money for FUE (for me anyways) Pictures are attached. They were taking with a very bright bathroom mirror light. 0 months, 6 months, and 12 months. Picture of donor area is 11 months after haircut with #1 attachment. Im here to help anyone with any questions about FUE and Rahal in particular. If you are considering it, talk with the Dr and go for it once your expectations are established - you are in world class hands.
  4. Hi Guys! I haven't forgot about you and the forum Its been exactly 1 year since my FUE procedure with Rahal and I couldnt be happier with my result. I will be creating a new thread and will provide the link below. I chose not to report on my progress throughout the last 12 months for two reasons: 1. I didn't want to dwell on things or create unnecessary worry on myself. I wanted time to take its course and not constantly think about progress or where i think I should be. I did it, and resumed normal life. Only thing I did do was take monthly photos. Otherwise i didn't dwell on it. 2. Before I did my own procedure, I myself would always be so anxious to see everyone elses progress and wish i could fast forward and see the final result right away. So i saved everyone a year of suspenseful forum posts and emotions running high and low, by providing you all with a before and after in one shot I will create the new post now and provide a link. Looking forward to helping answer questions from others who are thinking about doing FUE with Rahal. I am here to help!
  5. One of the main reasons why I don't want to try propecia is the possibility of this. I Plan on having kids and rather have a not so thick head of hair then the possibility of having children with such risk I do plan on using minoxidil. Have any birth defects been found with men who take it and have children ?
  6. Thanks for the great feedback thus far! Yes I have travelled enough to know they will toss any liquids big enough if tried to carry on. So I will be checking my spray bottles of saline, etc at baggage check so one less thing to worry about!
  7. Hi Guys! Question is simple - How long should one wait before flying in an airplane after a hair transplant? Just curious, as all surgeons seem to give different post-op instructions when it comes to flying (based on what i have found online) Reason asking is I plan on flying from Ottawa back to Toronto (literally 45-50 minutes in the air). Planning on staying in Ottawa atleast for 36 hours post op. I can understand the need to wait a couple days for those going on transatlantic flights as its generally a longer flight. Anyone fly after a transplant? and if so how long did you wait? On a side note - what did you wear through the airport!! haha Thanks !
  8. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. FUE guy your procedure looks amazing! Cant wait to see more growth on you as you update us in the future
  9. Looks like its going to turn out amazing!
  10. Thanks for the replies thus far it is super helpful when taking into consideration all the facts! I feel like (and have been told) my donor area is pretty good and hair type is very thick (as you could see in the pictures) I also attached a picture from yesterday so you can see the coverage and thickness i have.in the back What is the true definition of a framed face?? i may be mistaken but not asking for the hair of a teenager again, Just looking to follow my receding hairline (not lower it at all) with moderate thickness on the first 1/3 of my head (again not my entire head). Would consider minox foam to halt further loss in the back as well!
  11. With the Minox - it sure seemed that way on the hairline. Regardless once I stopped it everything sped up a bit to the point where it may have been if i didn't use it at all. I have to say though, the foam seemed to work better then the liquid during my time on it - i think i gave each a shot for 6 months a piece - the foam kind of worked at the back (at least kept it thicker - anyone have the same experience?? SMP is def a good option later on the crown. But I like mentioned, I dont plan on trying to completely fill my head back with hair by the time im 40 anyways. Balding at the back I can live happy with - but little to no hairline and frontal coverage just sucks on me !
  12. I stopped Minox because it made me pretty bloated in the face, and I also notices i had a decrease in my libido. Not to mention it i thought it ate away at my hairline. Maybe because i was using it all over my head (including my hairline) was too much? I guess i could try using it JUST on the crown when I get an FUE? Adamo ended proscar in 2011 as he didnt want to take it forever by the sounds of it (from what i read on his blog) I cant find it anywhere that he continued to use after his transplant Im headed to Rahal for his great results in hairlines and first 1/3 of the scalp. Thats all i really want for now Based on what i have seen im pretty confident he can do that. Definitely wouldnt be going to him if it was still done robotically. Seems like his manual work is the way to go.
  13. Not at all guys, I'm thankful for the feedback so far!! Nope never took any steroid. Like i said, once i stopped the rogaine, all the hairs that were probably gonna fall out eventually did so, and only the strong survived ! haha Truth be told and now that I think of it, the time between my before and current pics shown is about 3 years. The picture is Winter 2012 so coming on about 3 years. I should mention that even in the pic with my full hairline, i was thinning BIG TIME in the front, you just cant tell because the sun isnt shining dead on it! So its been a gradual loss since 25 y.o. No doubt Erdogan is a great doc but I cant make the trip to Turkey for sure. And Rahal is the King of hairlines (so i think) and what i want most is a nice frame face and top. I was hoping to similar results to adamo (adamo) We have similar (if not exact) hair traits and loss. I think he turned out fantastic! Its foolish to think that I (or anyone) will get the entire density of my natural hair back all across my scalp - and its definitely not my expectation. My expectation is a restored hairline, more desnity on the top...and I can live with some baldness in the back And again, with a nice framed face and hairline, paired with FUE, i can buzz it in the future and it wont look all that bad. Is that not possible?? Propecia I will think about but like i said, the side effects scare the shit out of me, dont want to have kids (one day) while im on it, and lastly Ive lost most my hair in the front anyways which is what I want replaced....the back not so much! Thoughts?
  14. No meds at all - I did rogaine thing 3 years back and I am Convinced that it destroyed my hairline and sped up the loss everywhere else. I've been off everything for two years. Don't want to do propecia due to side effects Sethticles - I don't want to go back right away for a couple reasons. One being the crown doesn't bother me much and 2 that I probably couldn't afford another surgery in a year ! Lol but that's why I'm hoping to get 3000 grafts now as i think that will give me the best result for the next 3-5 years or so !
  15. The first pic is from two years ago and the ideal framing and density (or illusion of !) that I would like
