  1. I would keep taking the bcaa. I remember I wasn't allowed to have caffeine the day of my surgery. so maybe skip that. btw, did you know that creatine raises dht? I would stop taking creatine for like 6 months just to give me the best chance of a successful transplant.
  2. that would be a great alternative to taking fin. I read that dr. yates offers this on his website. any doctors in new York doing this?
  3. I have been on hrt before and I stopped it cause I didn't feel great on it. surprisingly with diet and exercise my testosterone has gotten back up to normal levels and I feel pretty good. As for your question, I used propecia while on trt and my hair still shed. My advice, depending on where your test levels are, is to maybe lower the dose of your test. for example if your test levels are 900 maybe you can try getting them down to 700 by cutting you test dosage and see if that lessens your hair loss. I know my hair loss during trt was dose dependent, meaning the higher my test levels were the more hair I lost. it also caused a lot of miniaturization of the donor area as well. I assume you are going to be on Wyllie protocol for life so I don't think its a bad idea to give propecia a try and see what happens. oh and also, my doc also put me on hcg during trt and that really accelerated my hair loss. I would never use that stuff again. I hope this helps.
  4. its funny that I just emailed my ht dr today with my concerns. lets see, my testicles have shrunk close to half. delayed ejaculation. I still can get a strong erection but it doesn't last as long. my flaccid length is definitely smaller but my erect length is the same. feels like my chest is always slightly bloated or I am developing some excess breast tissue. that's all that comes to mind right now. I am thinking about lower the dose for a while and see what happens I was thinking about starting a thread about "cycling" propecia like people "cycle" steroids. I was wondering If using propecia for a couple of months then taking a month off and using clomid to restart hpta would help minimize damage to the endocrine system and continue with 2 months on and 1 month off.
  5. I have been on fin for a little bit over two months and the side are just hitting me now and they are significant
  6. If you drink before surgery it can increase bleeding
  7. you know my thinking on this subject has changed. My opinion is to do a hair transplant as young as possible if you are a good candidate. might as well enjoy your youth while you can because it doesn't get any easier as you get older. my hair loss (diffuse thinning) didn't really get really bad until I hit 42 so I was able to live with it. But for the guys who are in their 20's and balding I would say consult with the top dr's and I mean the truly elite and eithical dr's and go for it.
  8. I am about 9 weeks post op with dr. diep and I healed well because I have done everything he says. Take Dr. Diep's recommendations seriously. he knows his stuff and will have you healed up very fast.. I am very active and lift weights and run and I stopped for about 6 weeks. I felt good to go after 9 days but I didn't really want to risk it If your Doctor says its ok, then its ok. Just listen to him and have a good result. Don't overthink this stuff and do not get too many opinions.. Just sit back and relax for a few weeks!!! that's an order
  9. Ask your dr for antibiotic gel. I had the same problem a few days and my dr prescribed antibiotics.
  10. I know dr. bhatti recommends fin for 6 months after the ht. did this patient take fin and is he still on it?
  11. I think bill gave good advice. I also think you should visit some dr's in person. some people have certain hair characteristics that make fue harder because of the different angles you have to go in. I was seriously considering a fut instead of fue because I would have gotten it done in one pass and been done with the whole transplant issue. but fue was awesome because about 7 or 8 days post op everything pretty much healed up and I went out with out a hat and no one could tell I had anything done. not my co workers, not my family or friends. that was pretty cool.
  12. on meds you said? I would probably go for a ht and enjoy your 20's and 30's. keep your options open when it comes to fut or fue. You can get a larger fut session and it will probably solve your current hair loss in one pass and be happy for many many years if you stay on the meds.
  13. my doc said that I should notify him if I got pimples in the donor area. I have had minor itching maybe once or twice a day but no pimples yet (knock on wood). I have been putting pain relief Neosporin or regular bacitracin on it. I think you should give your dr a call. I think there is a prescription medicine that can be prescribed to deal with pimple and itching.
  14. I find it so strange when dr's let a technician score the graft. a bad technician can mess up a fut as well as an fue procedure but I guess there is more room for error during a fue. That being said I guess it all boils down to how good the techs are. what kind of schooling do you need to become a tech in a ht clinic and how much they get paid?
  15. I might have missed this but how old are you?
  16. I'm all for patient privacy but there has to be a way to protect the client and still post results. I don't want my face plastered online but I wouldn't mind it if my face was totally blocked from sight.
  17. you do have great donor. I am 4 weeks post op with dr. diep but my transplanted hairs haven't shed yet. even though I'm glad that I still have them I kinda wish they would fall out so at least I am following the same pattern as other guys I've seen with great results. I still get tingly feelings throughout the donor but never really had any pain and very little swelling. My face or eyes never swelled up and only the left side of my head is a little swollen and that just happened this week.
  18. my opinion is that Dr's that are on this site should be mandated to put up all their results. These guys are booked months in advance and yet I only see a handful of transplant results. There should be hundreds of cases from each dr so we potential clients can better evaluate.
  19. wow this is really upsetting to me. I wish I would have read this a month ago. I am almost 30 days post op with dr. diep. fml. I kinda have the same hair texture and quality like big willy and now I am really depressed. I saw dr. Diep one day post op and he said that I was going to have a "good Result" and "its going to be a good result". I feel for all your guys pain and I hope we get the results we all want. I saw a few killer results from Diep like ht soon, MOdthis and x-chris so I thought I'd be ok. now I'm
  20. this has happened to me many times. I do shed hairs in a severe caloric deficit. I have gotten under 10% bf a few times on a diet of about 1800 cals, and if your good fats are too low you can lose hairs. You must keep your intake of healthy fats up! try like 4,000- 6,000 mgs of fish oil a day. also if you are taking out calories from your diet, do it slowly. take out 100 calories a day each week. don't shock your system too much at once.
  21. can I ask what pills the clinic gave your bro, bro?
  22. I have a lasercomb and I am 30 days post op. I think it does help with healing of the donor area. My scalp feels less tingly and not as "numb" since I started using it. I don't use it on the recipient area. just the donor. My personal opinion is to use it. You can buy refurbished ones with a warranty online and its like $300. at this point we're thousands of $$$$ into fighting hair loss, so a few hundred more isn't going to break us. After watching that dateline video that was posted on here I feel like the lasercomb and vivascal pills gave quantifiable results so I threw them into my regimen.
  23. so you didn't have the post-op shed ugly duckling stage? that's the second Dr. Diep patient that didn't go through the ugly duckling phase that I have read about on this site. I am 30 days post op and waiting for these hairs to shed already!
  24. I had a procedure with him about 30 days ago. He seemed pretty good to me. he's made himself available to me before and after my surgery. His office workers are courteous and helpful. Like I said I am only 30 days out so I can't really say how my results will be, after 7 days I looked fine and was able to go out with a hat. I haven't had any pain at all. The only thing I recommend is having a surgeon assess you in person. Online consults are ok but this is surgery and you should take the initiative and go visit a dr's office in person and get some feedback.
