  1. have you had bloodwork to see if you are deficient? I have taken it in the past. I think it helps strengthen your hair but I wouldn't expect a major regrowth from them try 5,000iu vitamin d3, you might want to add in vitamin k. (read up on K) zinc maybe 25-50 with food. some people get nausea when consuming zinc on an empty stomach
  2. nice job, I think he picked a great time to do it. he still had hair so all he had to tell people was that he shaved his head. that's what I did and no one had a clue
  3. yeah I used Johnson's baby shampoo for months after my procedure
  4. put up some pics and then lets wait another 6 months. in the meantime try to relax
  5. after having a fue procedure, I am pro strip. I think I would have had a better result with fut. a lot of the things dr feller says are true. my result from started out great but slowly the transplanted hairs are falling out and I am going to need another procedure in the same area. I went to a well respected surgeon who has given a lot of good results. so its just my bad luck. I think there's a tendency to take hairs out of the safe zone in fue and those hairs may not survive.
  6. do not do neograft. have you consulted with other dr's besides Rahul? if not, you should go that route definitely.
  7. here's my opinion. if you think you are balding then you probably are. you are the best judge of your own head. I noticed that I was losing hair 25 years ago (at 22yo) and I slowly slowly thinned out since then. I knew I was balding and I went into denial at first then depression then accepted it and fought it. it took me 25 years from the point I noticed I was losing my hair to when I got my hair transplant. My hair loss was weird. I would lose hair for months then it would stop for very long periods (like a year or two) and I thought I wouldn't lose anymore hair but then another shed would start. I think you have time but you can make some changes now like rogaine or fin or adding healthy fats, anti inflammatory diet and slow down what is going to happen.
  8. probably rogaine 2x a day. I'd consult with drs who also do bht. maybe you can get some donor from your chest or beard. look into latanoprost. I used it before and it does work but its expensive and you must continue using just like rogaine or fin. best of luck
  9. I really hope you get the result you want and finally be done with transplants. you have really put a lot into your hair. I am really rooting for this to be a great result. best of luck ht.
  10. I used diep, hes great. my main question to ask is how many grafts he thinks you have left after this for surgery if your hair loss progresses. he's going to recommend that you go on propecia after your surgery if you aren't already on it. I think you are right to start off with a smaller procedure of 1000 grafts and then wait to see how your hair loss progresses. I don't think you are too young.
  11. nah I think if you go to a good dr it will be ok. let me see if I can find some pics of me with a buzzed head since I had my ht. it actually looked good to me and I really liked it buzzed to about a 1.5-2 guard but my gf said since I got the ht I should just grow it out
  12. although you were balding in 2012 it doesn't really look bad on you. if you get a fue you can always shave your head again later on if you don't like it. also be prepared some drs may want you to take propecia after the surgery and it may not be a bad idea.
  13. you should ask dr. gabel how many grafts you have left for future surgeries and then decide what to do. I went to diep and I specifically asked him if I had enough donor grafts to cover the top of my head if lost all my hair and he said yes. so I had my hairline done fully expecting to have more surgeries. at the current moment I am happy with my hair and don't really want another surgery. I don't think you are going to low with your hairline because you have a big forehead. I think you will be happy with the procedure. I think you can get a good hairline with 1500 and then try to strategically place the other grafts to create the illusion of a fuller head of hair but gabel is good and he will lead you the right way.
  14. if you are happy with it then that's all that matters. your donor looks a little depleted, did the dr tell you have how many grafts you left in the donor for the future if needed
  15. yes do not masturbate for the next several months and try having sex with people other than yourself.
  16. I am a diep patient and my result is pretty good. I had surgery at 45 years old, though. even at this age I will probably lose more hair but I really just wanted to fix my hairline and not be depressed when I looked in the mirror. right now I look like I have a full head of hair and I hope it lasts me til my mid 50's and that was my goal- to buy me some time. I'd probably get another ht when my hair loss progresses if hair is still important to me at that time. I understand a lot of the guys concerns about you being too young but honestly I would do it. lets face it you are 23 and balding pretty bad. do you want to spend your 20's worrying about balding? the reason I got a fue is that I figured I could always shave my head in the future if I lost the rest of the head on my hair anyway. no matter what happens the option to shave your head is always available if you choose a fue procedure so why not have hair until you get to the point where your hair loss can't be fixed anymore with surgery. with a ht and meds you maybe able to buy yourself a decade or so but you should really get more aggressive with the meds. you should ask diep about worst case scenario do you have enough grafts to cover future baldness and you should be prepared that you may need more surgeries. I would get a ht and hopefully it keeps you looking good til you're in your 30's. its all depends on how bad your desire is to have hair. along with rogaine look into some topical oils like emu or pumpkin to block dht.
  17. so I had the same thing and I went to a dermatologist who attempted to remove the cyst in his office and he was unsuccessful so now I have a bald spot in my crown from the surgery that hasn't grown back. my advice would be got to a plastic surgeon or a head and neck surgeon if you already haven't consulted with one.
  18. I had my procedure on feb 29th 2016 w diep and by march 9th you couldn't tell I had a ht. it just looked like I shaved my head. I was out with friends without a hat no one noticed. just listen to dr. diep instructions pre and post surgery and you should be fine.
  19. I am diep patient also. had my surgery feb 29th 2016. I don't want to jinx myself but I'm pretty happy with my result. best of luck to you my friend.
  20. i think if you get a good yield, you'll be very happy with your result and may not want a second ht
  21. Wow. This is a dilemma. You're obviously intent of going all the way w this. Have you looked into higher dose rogaine w azealic acid. There's a 15% rogaine out there that works well. I've used it. As for how to split up your hairs into crown or midscalp I think your right to split them to get some coverage everywhere on your scalp w no big 'bald spots'. As long as the hair line is strong and the face is framed well is the big thing
  22. I use retin a occasionally and I am about 5 months post op and have had no issues
