  1. Dr. Lorenzo may arguably be the most renowned hair surgeon in the world. Many doctors have trained under his guidance including Dr. Michael Vories. I met Dr. Lorenzo when I attended the International Hair Transplant Convention in 2012 in the Bahamas. I was there as a guest of the convention, five weeks after I had my 5,125 graft FUE procedure. The surgeons were most impressed with my donor area. I have since had another 2,000 graft procedure and my donor area still looks very good.
  2. Very interesting pictures and progress. Please keep us posted on HTN. I'm hoping you will see that hairline forming soon. Keep up the good attitude and positive thoughts.
  3. Procedure looks neat and clean. Be prepared for shock-out in the next few weeks. Totally normal and the grafts will produce new hairs after the dormant period. Mine is typically 4 months. Brave guy to have the procedure done by techs only. But...the results are all that matters in the end. Keep us posted on the HTN.
  4. I must agree with "BadBeat". I wish I had the much hair a few years ago. But....good luck with the FUE.
  5. I agree with everyone above. This does not look like 3,000 grafts, or individual hairs. Also, there is such a random nature to the implantation. Hope you can get some additional information and/or confirmation from the doctor. Hope you got what you actually paid for.
  6. Choose the procedure method and doctor you are most comfortable with. In my case, I had NO interest in having a large scar on the back of my head. I've had two FUE surgeries and over 7,000 grafts. I have no visible scarring and my donor area looks no different from before the first surgery.
  7. Hoping for the best for you. I saw great progress between months 4 and 6. Hang in there.
  8. I've had two surgeries and now over 7,000 grafts from donor areas. I've included a picture of my left side at 63 days post-op. Not sure why some pictures post the way they do. Can't figure out how to rotate the image. (image fixed by moderator)
  9. I've had 2 FUE surgeries and experienced a lot of "puffyness" around the eyes for several days. You're probably experiencing the same issue. It's harmless and will fade pretty quickly.
  10. I'm about 12 weeks out since my second FUE transplant and you look fine to me. I know its hard to be patient but I had 5,000 done two years ago and the results in month 4 to 5 were very obvious. Hang in there, you will be pleased.
  11. Always protect your grafts especially during the first week but by day 4 they should have begun to anchor themselves pretty well. It wouldn't be easy to rub out graphs at this point but be cautious and careful placing and removing the hat each time.
  12. Looking just fine. You have a lot to look forward to. Be patient.
  13. Looking forward to seeing your results. FUE requires a bit larger punch for African Americans but I'm sure you will not notice any issues. Congrats on the hair line. You have a lot to look forward to.
  14. Two and a half years since my first FUE surgery. Had another in January. Great results!
  15. One thing I would remind you of.... After the surgery, the doctor will give you some pain meds. Make sure you take them as directed. I thought I would be a hero and deal with the pain. I made a big mistake and by the time I took the pain meds, I was in terrible shape. Don't get me wrong, the pain is not horrible but it would have been much more comfortable if I had "stayed ahead" of the pain and not waited for it to arrive. The pain meds took about 90 minutes to work on me after the pain got extremely uncomfortable.
  16. Hi "Glycerine". I think you will be fine. After 6 full days, the grafts are pretty resilient and very difficult to rub out. I'm sure it was time for the bloody clot to fall off. Just look forward to that new hair working its way through the skin in 3 to 4 months. Just be patient.
  17. So....was the lower spot in the photos not there prior and immediate post surgery?
  18. Looks like very nice work on the transplant. Hairline looks terrific. I'm sure you're pleased.
  19. I've had a 5,000 procedure and recently a 2,000 and yours looks very typical at this point. Yes, the blue marker line will fade quickly as you carefully clean the area each day. Looks good!
  20. In response to FUE2014, I've had two complete FUE surgeries here in the states. The first was 5,125 grafts and most recently 2,000 more. Check out my initial post (on page 2) called ....FUE vs. FUT (strip surgery)? Ask yourself this question!!!
  21. You better get used to the itching sensation....but in the donor area during and after its healed. It's not that bad but you do feel the need to rub and itch the donor area weeks after surgery.
  22. Don't worry about the graft Geoff, I recently had a second surgery and my active hands at night during my sleep dislodged several. I may have lost 6-10 grafts the first night but I had 2,000 transplanted. I won't have a visual impact at all. I'll trade your 1 for my 6-10. Best of luck. You will be fine!
  23. Absolutely fine Bardlebee. That's what I experienced after I had 5,000 grafts done in 2012. Just be careful because the "crust" that comes off can actually serve as a type of gritty sandpaper on the top of your head which can irritate it a bit if you rub it too hard. I was glad to get some of the grit off and actually rubbed it on my head and caused some irritation. I really couldn't feel it initially because it was still numb from the surgery. I did feel some minor stinging when I got out of the shower. You will be just fine. Just be gentle.
  24. I started seeing new growth at 9 weeks but it was much more obvious at the 4 month mark! Hang in there and be patient! You have plenty to look forward to!
  25. Basing this strictly on my own personal experiences I would think 1,500 - 2,000 would be more than enough to accomplish your expectations at this time.
