  1. Honestly, propecia is only gonna help maintain the hair you have, typically the guys who see regrowth are guys who get on propecia early on, at this point you're pretty much full blown Norwood 6 I wouldn't even bother spending money on propecia if your using it in hopes to get your hair back, hair restoration surgery is your best bet, and body hair will more than likely need to be used.
  2. Whatever it is good for you, in about 4 more months it's going to look really good, happy for you man:D
  3. I still don't understand how the transplanted hair fell out, if it was taken from a zone that was bound to bald, then why isn't your crown bald? something is not computing, this is a very strange case, I wouldn't go back to a doctor if I wasn't happy even if they paid me, when dealing with a finite donor supply you need to use the grafts wisely, I would suggest going to another hair restoration surgeon and have him examine you, could it be DUPA diffused unpatterned alopecia? it just seems very strange that your crown doesn't look like its balding so why would transplanted hair from the crown fall out if the hairs on your crown haven't.
  4. Wow growth is coming in like crazy, you must be very happy to see how much has changed in two months, im at 2.5 months myself and I also have some redness, but I know it'll subside.
  5. Looking good so far, im 2/12 months post op myself with Dr. Diep, minoxidil like finasteride works on the whole scalp, there's no scientific evidence that suggest it only works on the crown, how will the medication differentiate between hair in the crown or the hairline, you should try Nizoral shampoo and also incorporate a dermaroller once a week to your minoxidil routine.
  6. You have an awesome hairline and a ton of hair, as others have said your problem is you don't know what to do with your hair, if I had your hair, id grow it out and go to a good salon spare no expense and have them style and trim my hair, it may run you a couple hundred bucks, but it'll save you the thousands you'd spend on a HT and the pain and downtime. You kinda look like Keylor Navas and your hair is very similar to his, why don't you consider this hairstyle, it hides the recession in the corners very well and looks really good
  7. I'm glad you were able to get a good result, and I am sorry your first procedure didn't turn out like you expected, but one bad result does not define a procedure whether it be FUE or FUT.
  8. I agree that mega session are not a good idea for FUE, and can lead to hairs being extracted out of the safe zone, what seems peculiar though, is that from the pictures posted the crown doesn't seem to be thinning, which would somewhat debunk the hairs taken out of the safe zone theory, it's not mentioned whether or not Mickey is on meds, but even if he's not, it doesn't appear that he's lost hair from his crown. I always say if your going to get FUE be prepared to do multiple procedures, in my opinion that's really the only true benefit of FUT is the ability to harvest more grafts at once, like you said, the yield was good it appeared to be good.
  9. Fantastic result David,a lot of things have been said about Dr. Bhatti's extractions, but this result right here says it all. I'm happy for you????
  10. Wow my bad man, I didn't notice those pics you posted were at 4 months, it's confusing when you post 4 month pics as your first post but my apologies no need to get defensive, I don't work for Dr. Doganay, but I'd like to see what he has to say, the only logical explanation is the transplanted hairs were taken from outside the safe zone.
  11. What I think happened is that you lost non-transplanted hair, and now the transplanted hair is left sparse, you still had a lot of hair pre-op, looks like your hair loss had progressed, it's unfortunate and I hope you can get your desired result, it's important to plan your hair transplants for future hairloss to avoid these types of situations.
  12. It's easier to be certain of something after you've had the procedure, most of us are speaking out of firsthand experience, i cut my hair every week at a #1 guard, I haven't had one person notice or ask about my scars. I know not everyone will scar the same, but I think the majority of individuals on here haven't experienced any issues in regards to scarring that's why they're sharing their experiences.
  13. I think there's a lot of variables that contribute to "astounding" to not so "astounding" results, skin to hair contrast, hair characteristics, level of baldness, I think the important thing to remember is that hair restoration is not a miracle procedure, unfortunately those of Norwood 6 will never have the same results as let's say a Norwood 3 who basically transforms in to a Norwood 1 given the right circumstances. But it's important to remember that we are looking for improvements, I don't get caught up in what the next guys result is cause I'm a different person with different characteristics, I just focus on is my own situation inproving, do I look better from what I looked like before if I do than its a success in my eyes, I could care less what anyone else thinks.
  14. I looked at your picture,it looks like ingrown hairs, not folliculitis, nothing to be really concerned about, in the next months things should be improving.
  15. These numbers pulled out of thin air where did you get 50% growth 20% of the time? You're assuming visibly less means 50% I don't think Dr. Shapiro said that, so again Blake these numbers are based on your perception. Furthermore, from what you're saying based on "visibility" 83% is not visibly thinner than 95% because visibly thinner= 50% thanks for sharing.
  16. Never fails to see Blake comment on these threads claiming 80% yield for FUE, where are these numbers coming from ask yourself? when renowned physicians like Shapiro themselves have stated that most of the time i.e 80% of the time yield is comparable, im fairly certain comparable is more like 90-95%. He also fails to even recognize the picture that was originally posted shows 98%.
  17. Wow happy for you, guess you're just a late grower, that's why I think it's important to allow the full 12 months before making judgements, eager to see updated pics.
  18. Sam can you post pics? Pimples are actually common, they could be ingrown hairs, or folliculitis, if it's just a pimple or two it's probably just and ingrown hair, I have them too I'm also two months post op, it'll go away, if you're worried about it talk to your physician he can prescribe you something to make it go away sooner, you're freaking yourself out, it sounds like you're growing very fast which is a good thing.
  19. Unfortunately, this gentlemen does not scar well, if he would've gotten strip it would've been worse, nevertheless, I would pick those scars 7 days out of the week and twice on Sunday over the strip scars previously shown. SMP would make these scars nearly undetectable.
  20. It's a ridiculous notion to get "stripped out" then get FUE to thin your donor area and reveal those ugly scars, I feel bad for the guy in the photo, I hope he can get those scars fixed, maybe fue body hair in to the scars, I'd hate to see scalp grafts be wasted on a scar.
  21. I agree, the FUE guy is an example of bad scarring from FUE, he probably would've ended up with a grotesque scar if he got the strip, comparing a bad FUE case and a normal strip case, there is still no comparison.
  22. There aren't any studies on growth for FUE vs FUT so we can only go based off of physicians popular opinion, that is that yield from FUE is lower. However, the elephant in the room that no one discusses is visibility. Allow me to explain, we know hair loss does not become visible until roughly 50% hair has been lost, that's a huge margin, now let's say you get FUE by a top physician, let's say your yield is 5% lower than it would be if you got FUT, do you think that 5% is going to make a visible impact all? I don't think it would, the difference is so minuscule that it does not make a difference really in the overall outcome of the result, this is my opinion, just using logical common sense. Dr. Feller and other FUT physicians will say the difference is more like 20-30%, this is based off of their own experience with the procedures. Surgeons are not created equal, there are surgeons who are simply better at performing FUE, so they close the gap between FUE and FUT the most important thing is choosing the right physician.
  23. Numbness is normal, it should subside with in 2-3 months, I had FUE months ago I had some numbness that is resolving itself now almost completely gone, nothing to worry about.
  24. I'd recommend 1,200-1,500, you're almost 40 with minimal hairloss, the chances of you balding to a Norwood 6 is low, most men with aggressive hairloss would be significantly bald at your age, with all due respect you're not that young, being that conservative is for guys in their early 20's not for guys nearly 40 that's my opinion.
  25. I like to look at it this way Blake 1) Approximately 2/3rd of the time you're going to have VISIBLY the SAME yield 2) 80% of the time you're going to get the same growth. 3) FUT growth is still the most reliable but comes with a big scar from ear to ear for life, and poor growth can still occur
