  1. The level of baldness you posses at 23 does mean there is a very high possibility you'll be Norwood 7, at this point I'd hold off on surgery, I'd try and stabilize the hairloss by minoxidil, once you're in your late 20's if your destined for Norwood 7 you'll more than likely be at that stage by then. However, all is not lost, you can still get surgery, to frame a hairline and connect the lateral humps, the crown will have to stay bald, but check out Dr. Umar, he's literally the only physician I've seen operate on Norwood 7's with success through a combo of FUE+BHT and you can even add smp if you wish to wear your hair short, I never believe that you have to just live with it, that's heart breaking to hear and frankly it's not true, you may never have a full head of hair, but you can most certainly improve your situation;) Check this thread out http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/159098-dr-umar-7500-grafts-fue-norwood-7-a.html
  2. I wonder what would happen if this guy actually had bad hairloss, he's got a natural part in his hair which he says is a definite thinning, he's been losing his hair since he was 16 but thinks he'll go full blown Norwood 6 in 10 years, even though his hairloss has been slow for over 20 years.
  3. Shedding is a good sign, the miniaturized hairs are shed and they grow back healthier and thicker, when I was 22 got on minoxidil I noticed shedding like crazy, I stopped it, then when I was 26 I got back on but this time I didn't notice shedding, I think the miniaturization process was too advanced and could not be reversed. So in summation, if you notice a lot of shedding stick with it, that's a good sign it's working.
  4. Well for one I wouldn't say you don't pull the look off, but in my opinion that look is very plain and boring even on Theo Walcott, I don't think anyone ever looks at Theo and says great hairstyle, if I had a lot of hair I would be rocking something like this Notice it's just a regular guy hairlines like yours he's not a model but the hairstyle makes a big difference, he'd probably look less attractive with a plain short haircut.
  5. Currently you don't need 4,000 grafts, getting that many grafts at this point will only accelerate the chance of shock loss, I know you may be eager to get it all over with at once. Unfortunately, that's not the case in most situations, I think the best plan for you would be 2,000-2,500 grafts. In the future if your hairloss progresses you'll have grafts in the bank to address future hair loss. Your hair looks pretty thick, aside from the receded temples, you have what appears to be a relatively strong frontal forelock, I think reinforcing the forelock slightly and conservatively bringing the temples down would do wonders for your overall appearence. Me personally, I wouldn't go FUT for the amount of grafts you need, you can still get a good result with FUE, and if you check out romperstompers recent thread, you can even leave a strip of untouched hair should you wish to go FUT in the future.
  6. That's true the hair you transplant should never fall out, however the non-transplanted hair you have on your head will eventually fall out, this will make the hair that was transplanted look thin on its own. Therefore, in order to maintain your results you'll have to get subsequent transplants, rarely does one get a full restoration with one procedure, almost every one including guys on finasteride end up getting several procedures, whether it's to maintain their hair or just out of pure hair greed. It's important you realize this prior to submitting yourself to surgery.
  7. Congrats romper, I've never seen the extraction pattern like that in FUE before it's fascinating , it actually makes a lot of sense it follows the same pattern as a strip, which would ensure the grafts are taken from the permanent zone, also the strip he left was that on purpose? Just in case you wanna go FUT in the future. Physicians on here have stated its always best to strip first then FUE, however, I think with the extraction pattern he followed leaving that strip essentially virgin would be perfect to then go FUT. Very interesting to say the least, I'm sure your results are going to be great. Make sure you keep us posted on your monthly progress.
  8. I'm 30 also I don't take fin, although my balding pattern is established and my hairloss has been stabilized for the past 2 years, you're going to get guys telling you that you will inevitably fail (there's a lot of finasteride pushers on here). That all depends on your current hairloss and goals, you will for sure need to get more than one HT, as hair loss is progressive and in order to maintain your HT results you'll need to follow up procedures, as long as you're conservative with your hairline and you have a good plan on where to place your grafts you should be fine so long as youre ok with needing more HT's down the road.
  9. Haha you got the reference it went over some heads. Yea I love new wave 80's even though I was just a baby in those times. Here's another game of guess that movie "Would you___me, I'd ____me" Goodbye horses I'm flying over you Goodbye horses I'm flying over you
  10. If you leave, don't leave now Please don't take my heart away Promise me just one more night Then we'll go our separate ways With hours left time on our sides Now it's fading fast Every second every moment We've got to--we've gotta make it last http://youtu.be/Z-HQVJbogOo This ones dedicated to those follicles that got away.
  11. So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world
  12. My mistake I did misunderstand you, it will help you maintain the hair you have, but to be honest it's not that much, you can try it, but just realize that you may not see a change at all, studies show that the majority of men don't see any regrowth, technically the medication works if you don't get any worse, but at the advanced level of baldness you have I just don't think it's worth it in my opinion, I'd use the money you'd be spending monthly on finasteride and put it towards a hair transplant. By that's just me others may disagree but that's just my opinion.
  13. I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy Because I'm easy come, easy go A little high, little low Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me Ahh this is so much more fun than discussing this dead issue.
  14. I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes, I saw the sign Life is demanding without understanding I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes, I saw the sign No one's gonna drag you up to get into the light where you belong But where do you belong. http://youtu.be/ejre44FR2oo
  15. Hasson and Wong did recently, the guy had to change the title of the thread and I believe he signed some disclaimer, he then basically recanted his result as a misunderstanding. Mind you H&W are a North American surgeons office, I highly doubt physicians in turkey or other developing countries would do that.
  16. Yes the growth rate is different, typically the beard grows faster than the scalp, the telogen (rest) and anagen (growth) phase is different, I've heard some doctors say the characteristics change once transplanted to the scalp, but I don't believe that to be true.
  17. Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
  18. I would be very surprised if you got any regrowth, and even if you did get regrowth, it wouldn't be enough to make a difference cosmetically, your option at this point is hair restoration surgery, your beyond the point of salvaging your hair sorry to say. Medication is best used early on in hair loss, the medication is able to reverse the minitaurization of the follicles, at this point though most of the follicles have died, there's not many follicles to reverse miniaturization so I'm afraid the meds will not be enough to give you a good cosmetic result even in the best case scenario.
  19. I'm not talking about a salon older women go to, I'm talking about a legit salon where most of the people working there are hair stylist and the majority are gay men, I'm not sure where you live, but you may have to do some research, go to a couple of salons show them pictures of the hairstyle you're looking for, look at the clientele, if it's a place filled with older women, than its probably not the salon for you, you're looking for a young trendy salon, I'd go on Yelp if I were you and start looking.
  20. This thread has become a joke, I agree with stig, LondonHT when you say things like "to think of Ive been withholding my opinion from this thread" this makes you seem disingenuous, like your only motive to post was to get a hand out, now that you've been denied said hand out, your back to this thread to question the doctors sincerity. This makes you look bad, I think it was more than nice to even offer the procedure for free and do a free consult, mind you I disagree with a lot of things Dr. Feller does and says, but what is right is right, if you're so desperate why don't you be proactive? Instead of banking on a free hand out. This thread needs to be closed its become a pathetic place where grown man bicker and whine about not being given something for free.
  21. Norwood II how old are you? if you're young I would hold off on getting a hair transplant, also never a good idea to schedule a surgery with the first doctor you consult with, in my honest opinion there's alot of better doctors out there that perform FUT, if I were you id consult with A LOT of doctors see what they say browse their before and afters, also look for doctors who have videos, a lot of the times pictures can be deceiving but a video is different.
  22. Yea your hair needs to be longer,it seems you want the undercut look which is very popular, something like Fernando Torres, to do this style you'll have to grow your hair out, go to a salon they'll trim it and line up the sides, you have the hair to do it, like I said the problem is you don't know what to do with all that hair, if I had your hair id be having the sickest hairstyle right now, consider yourself blessed. Undercut style
  23. Honestly, propecia is only gonna help maintain the hair you have, typically the guys who see regrowth are guys who get on propecia early on, at this point you're pretty much full blown Norwood 6 I wouldn't even bother spending money on propecia if your using it in hopes to get your hair back, hair restoration surgery is your best bet, and body hair will more than likely need to be used.
