  1. Isn’t that the point of asking a question on a forum? You don’t have to like the answer or agree. @HappyMan2021 This provides you with a good scientific reason why repairs should be done in sessions. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/nursing-and-health-professions/hair-transplantation
  2. Grafts require blood supply to survive. This is a fact, the article I shared discusses blood flow in scar tissue. I’m extrapolating the information. There’s nothing bro science about it.
  3. If there’s compromised blood flow, the yield will be lower. Scar tissue has lower blood flow due to potentially damaged blood vessels. This isn’t bro science. I listed a credible medical website. But regardless, OP wasn’t looking for scientific medical literature.
  4. You should keep shaving in my opinion. The donor looks to sparse to get reasonable coverage and density. Beard looks to be okay density, but I don’t think it’s enough.
  5. ISHRS is a society of doctors that meet to discuss advancements in the field of hair restoration, they also feature studies conducted by surgeons. You’re asking for studies but I don’t think you understand what it takes to finance a study. It’s common knowledge that blood flow is lower in scar tissue. https://www.mccormick.northwestern.edu/news/articles/2014/11/new-device-reduces-scarring-in-damaged-blood-vessels.html
  6. I’ve asked very nicely to stop de-railing this thread, but it stops now. Take these discussions via pm or create another thread.
  7. If you can’t afford a good surgeon don’t get surgery. The last two names are good choices.
  8. I believe there are some cases where Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Kostis both worked on patients. Let me tag @Raphael84
  9. It’s a nice subtle improvement, I’m sure the patient is happy. Thanks for sharing 🙏
  10. @asterix0 What does this thread have to do with RTC? If you have a question about that thread, please ask it there. Otherwise, this is de-railing this thread. Guys, These conversations about other surgeons have NOTHING to do with RTC. Please stop de-railing this thread.
  11. Guys, RTC has emailed Dr. Mwamba, this thread is being de-railed. Dr. Mwamba is one of the best in the business, he’s ethical, kind, and extremely meticulous almost to a fault. Let’s allow him the opportunity to respond, RTC doesn’t want me to reach out, so there’s nothing left to be said until we hear his response.
  12. That’s fine, we value everyone’s privacy. Like I said, if someone takes issue with their photos or thread being used for educational purposes, we will remove them. That said, best to not post anything you don’t want public.

  14. We do own the rights. Sometimes pictures posted here or threads may be used for educational purposes like this video. But I have no problems taking it down if the patient complains. If you’re posting something publicly, you should assume it’s being shared publicly as well. There are direct share links to Facebook, Reddit, etc. Other users may share it without you knowing. So if you don’t want it public, don’t post it.
  15. This simply isn’t true. RTC doesn’t even have 1k subs, so I wouldn’t classify him as a YouTuber, but regardless, Dr. Mwamba is the most caring and compassionate surgeons I know, he truly wants to get the best result possible. Unfortunately, hair transplants are not straightforward, and repair cases even LESS. You’re going to a surgeon with a destroyed donor, damaged and scarred recipient, you should expect that it isn’t going to look perfect. You should expect a multi-step process. I mean one-and-done are hardly a reality with the first good surgery, much less a repair. This is why doing it right the first time is important, it’s also why many surgeons refuse repairs. Patients end up forgetting about the clinics that destroyed them in the first place, and only focus on their repairs. Forgetting that they were a complete disaster before getting repaired. Repairs are extremely difficult, that’s why a few surgeons specialize in repairs. It’s like taking a totaled car to get painted, but also telling the body shop that there’s a small amount of paint they can use because the previous body shop used it all. @RTC I missed that this is 6 months, it’s still very early, looks like he placed some singles to break up the pluggy ones. I doubt you’ll be satisfied with one surgery, that’s the reality. But I think it’s fair to wait more time to cast final judgment. I will reach out to Dr. Mwamba for his response.
  16. I can see it doesn’t look that good, this is unfortunately the nature of repairs. It can be a multi-step process. The good news is the side profiles and donor look much better. One bad surgery can lead to multiple repairs. Dr. Mwamba is one of the most ethical surgeons, I’m sure he’ll suggest a further surgery at no cost. He may have been conservative removing too many pluggy grafts. But it definitely looks like more need to be removed, I’m sure that’s what he’ll propose.
  17. Merry Christmas 🎁 Adrian hope you’re spending it well, what’s the weather like in Australia? It’s summer isn’t it
  18. @Nordster34 I agree the temples can be improved. Temple points are notoriously difficult. It’s hard to say whether it was graft selection that caused the appearance. That said, the hairline in my opinion looks fantastic. I’ve reached out to @H & W Doug, but with the holidays, I wouldn’t expect a response now. I believe H&W have an exceptional reputation and track record because they’ve stood by their work. Surgeons miss the mark, as hair transplants are not an exact science, even with the best surgeons. Alluding that we should reconsider this surgeons membership over one result, and one aspect like (temple points) is ludicrous. Let’s allow the clinic time to respond to the concerns and figure out what occurred.
  19. Hard to say the donor is destroyed at this stage, though, the first guy may have issues if he went to the famous clinic targeting afro hair patients in Turkey.
