  1. I was in a similar position. I was honestly terrified of trying Xyon’s finasteride because some reported sides. But I was fairly confident with their dutasteride given previous reports of other topicals. I’m glad I took the leap. Indeed, hopefully many more share their experiences here, whether good or bad, we need the data.
  2. So far, me, you @TorontoMan are the only ones I know using dutasteride. @arthurSam took Farmacia Parati topical dut, which is similar. But he only took one dose from what I understand.
  3. I have to say, I don’t believe there’s any benefit from switching from oral to topical unless its due to side effects. Sounds like you’re experiencing mild sides. I doubt you’d experience any sides on the topical version. You could try topical dutasteride for a month. The benefit I see is that topical dutasteride is 2% which is equivalent to 2mg. That’s a high dose, so it would be a lot more than your current .5mg. I’m still unsure whether it would be more effective, but you probably wouldn’t experience any sides. My morning wood, libido is all good using it 3-4x a week. I got very bad sides from the oral version.
  4. Topical dutasteride has a large molecular weight. Combine that with silicone based liposomal vehicles. It doesn’t penetrate quickly. Thus, a more controlled release. That said, many don’t report sides from topical fin either, which on average reduces 30% systemic DHT, as opposed to 60-70% from oral version.
  5. You could be experiencing depression from life events. Technically, hair loss itself could make you depressed. If you’re concerned stop using it that’s my advice.
  6. I take 2.5mg 3x a week and 5mg 4x a week. Only reason I don’t take 5mg daily is to conserve my supply. I have a 90-day supply for 2.5mg.
  7. This is very impressive growth for 4 months. Even in harsh lighting the difference is astounding given the time frame.
  8. Great, I’ve been worried about using pomade. I think oral dut at this point would be overkill. Unless you’re using it to stretch out the topical.
  9. Do you use any pomades or waxes when you go out? I’m currently using it 3-4x per week. No sides. The only thing keeping me from using it daily is that I use pomades and toppik on the weekend when I go out. I’m wondering if it would interfere with the absorption.
  10. I think he’s a good option. I believe he has some examples. Send him a dm @DrTBarghouthi
  11. Theres nothing he would tell you, that you can’t learn here for free.
  12. It’s been 2 years since his last post. I doubt he will come back.
  13. @Nisa88 We're here to help. Can you give us some background? How many grafts did they extract? We have some excellent surgeons that specialize in Afro hair. There are plenty of options, do not beat yourself up. Believe me. You are in the right place. Have you consulted with any surgeons for a possible repair?
  14. I was looking back at old photo albums from 2014. I stumbled on this picture. I replaced my closet mirrors with closet doors, but this picture was taken in the exact same place 9 years apart. I’m so grateful to have found this community. It truly changed my life. Thank you all who have participated, shared, commented and posted. I really appreciate you all. Sometimes we have to remember how far we’ve come. Never did I ever imagine being able to achieve what I achieved. I can’t wait to see what another 10 years has in store.
