Looks like you came here not for advise but to convince others of a decision that you have already made. Good luck with that.

I wouldn't take such a risk. Do more research. If you want to have your HT in that region, the nearest place I would recommend is Bangkok, Thailand with Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich
-
Never heard of someone dying or having a heart attack during a HT. But nothing is 100% risk free! Walking on the road has risks too! It depends mostly on your current health status. If you have heart disease or if you are a high risk patient, it may be a good idea to see a cardiologist and get cardiac clearance before surgery. The adrenaline thats injected with local anaesthesia can pump up your heart. Good luck!

FUE Extractions Outside of Safe Zone
JohnGage replied to Cant decide's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
"FUE extractions are often taken WAY out of the safe zone" <------ When you say "often", this becomes untrue. -

Number of grafts needed for NW 6
JohnGage replied to Birdness's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
It depends on your donor + doctors skills. For example, can you afford to have your hair transplant with Dr. Lorenzo? Have a look at these two patients: 3939 grafts Dr. Lorenzo 6202 grafts Dr. Lorenzo -
Is this normal ? Pls advice me
JohnGage replied to WARD's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Grafts will bleed when dislodged. If not, you need not worry too much. But only your doctor can review and provide an accurate answer to your question. Have a look here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/174026-loosing-grafts-2-months-after-hair-transplant.html And here: http://www.bernsteinmedical.com/publications/graft-anchoring-in-hair-transplantation/ -
If the outcome is less important than having a hair transplant with Dr. Maral, you have found your reason to be happy. Congrats! Nothing else should matter now.

A question for the experts: FUE extraction
JohnGage replied to FUE2014's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
The doctor performing the procedure is much more important than the tools he uses. -
I was told that for 4000 grafts he charges Euro 1800 inclusive of transfers from and to the airport and transfers betweeen the hotel and the clinic, and 3 nights of hotel stay.
-
Looks like no more than 50% grew? This is not the first time a Dr. Maral patient has posted this kind of poor result in this forum. But I understand his fees are very cheap and patients who cannot afford to pay more will still be attracted to surgeons like Dr. Maral. Good luck!

Donor area pain after FUE
JohnGage replied to eternaldenied's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Dr. DeYarman, I believe this type of pain is usually in the donor area only. -
Patriot34, Not true at all...! Please do some more research..! It's not about FUE or Strip... either can be a disaster at the hands of the wrong surgeon!

1 year post FUE results - need input/advice
JohnGage replied to asiandude's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Dr. Deip, Seriously, "contraction and expansion of the underlying scar" suddenly changed his recipient hair direction/angle downwards? Wow!!! Can you show me any other case where this has happened in the recipient area? So why was donor hair removed from just his back/left side but not his right side? No question about the quality of work you have done (on most patients). Evidence/pictures of other patients doesn't change anything about this case! Something terribly went wrong here! That was not a very convincing explanation Dr. Sorry, just my opinion. -

Looks like a NW3 to me. Strange that you decided to ask questions here when you have thousand answers for every question you ask? -
FUE with Dr Erkan Demirsoy - 2500 grafts - 11th February 2014
JohnGage replied to ThinJim's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
ThinJim, I thought Dr. Demirsoy transplants 4000+ grafts in a day. Any idea why your 2694 grafts took so much time (8:15am to 7pm)? -
Finally my HT with Dr. Erdogan on 28th/29th January
JohnGage replied to Denny's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Denny, Looks awesome! Any before pics? Happy growing! -
darkmanhyk, From the pictures it looks like you have good density in your donor area. Did you send your pictures to any doctor? I guess you are a NW6. Everything depends on your expectation. Are you expecting full coverage from front to back? If you are looking for affordable surgeons Turkey may be the answer! Dr. Bhatti from India is a good/affordable option too. He can transplant from body hair too. Good luck!

It's a step toward curing baldness with stem cells made from a person's own skin. Bald? A team of stem cell scientists has made an advance that's a step toward being able to regrow your own natural hair, using samples of your skin. The scientists took adult human skin cells and transformed them into a particular type of cell that people lose when they lose their hair, called epithelial stem cells. This is the first time scientists have been able to make epithelial stem cells from adult cells. After creating the epithelial stem cells, the scientists transferred them onto the skin of mice, which then grew human skin, human hair follicles, and the beginnings of human hairs. The whole journey from skin cell to epithelial stem cell takes, broadly, two steps. First, the scientists, a team from the University of Pennsylvania and the New Jersey Institute of Technology, transformed adult skin cells into pluripotent stem cells. Pluripotent stem cells are those powerful, early-stage stem cells that are found in developing embryos. Scientists figured out how to make them from adult cells in 2004 and have been refining their techniques since. From there, the Pennsylvania-New Jersey team guided the pluripotent stem cells into becoming epithelial stem cells by controlling when they fed the cells certain chemicals called growth factors. What's next? The research team's leading scientist, dermatology researcher Xiaowei Xu, told HealthDay there's a second type of skin cell that people lose when they lose their hair… and no one has yet discovered how to make that.

Evaluation of androgens in the scalp hair and plasma of patients with male-pattern baldness before and after finasteride administration. BACKGROUND: Finasteride, a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme 5alpha-reductase II, is widely used as a medical treatment for patients with male-pattern baldness (MPB), which is affected by the distribution of androgenic steroids. It is also notable that the androgenic effect in MPB is different for each region of the head. OBJECTIVES: To study the effect of the drug finasteride, we quantified androgenic steroids in the vertex and occipital scalp hair and in the plasma of patients with MPB. METHODS: The patients with MPB, aged 23-52 years, were treated with finasteride 1 mg daily for 5 months. The hair and plasma samples were hydrolysed, extracted with n-pentane, and derivatized with MSTFA:NH4I:DTE (1000:4:5, v/w/w). We analysed the concentrations of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and testosterone (T) in the hair and plasma using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). RESULTS: In the hair, the ratio of DHT/T was decreased in the vertex scalp hair after the individual received finasteride (P < 0.005). However, we found no significant difference in the ratio of DHT/T in the occipital scalp hair before and after individuals received finasteride. Like the results in the vertex scalp hair, the ratio of DHT/T in the plasma was remarkably decreased after finasteride administration (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: This study supports the effect of finasteride in patients with MPB by examining the decreased level of DHT/T in scalp hair and in plasma. Thus, in view of the androgenic effect in the different hair regions, the vertex scalp hair plays a more important role for patients with MPB treated with finasteride than does the occipital hair. FUE with Dr Erkan Demirsoy - 2500 grafts - 11th February 2014

I agree, Dr. Demirsoy's work looks refined and his results I have seen so far are excellent. Good choice! All the best and good luck to you.
