  2. With a good doctor, FUE can do wonders. Have a look here http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171121-dr-jose-lorenzo-9999-fug.html
  3. I don't think this will give you "a head full of hair". It is very important to have realistic expectations. What did your doctor tell you?
  4. The problem with Dr. Maral is you never know who will be doing your HT. It may even be a new technician with little experience. I haven't heard the names of the other two. From what I have seen, the best FUE surgeons in Turkey are: (1) Dr. Koray Erdogan (2) Dr. Hakan Doganay (3) Dr. Erkan Demirsoy.

  6. Thanks for the reply. I haven't decided on a date yet. This will be my second procedure. I have done my first FUE HT 3 years back. Happy growing.
  7. Thanks for the updates. Are you still on pain killers? How about antibiotics? How long do you have to take it?
  8. You may not be able to get your teenage hair back. But I am sure you will be able improve your condition a LOT with FUE. Why do I say this? Here are a few reasons: Reason 1: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/172287-my-progress-dr-maral.html Reason 2: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170774-4200-fue-dr-villnow-800-body-hair.html Reason 3: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171807-dr-hakan-doganay-8384-grafts-6554-1830-fue.html ... and the list goes on and on...! Dr. Tejinder Bhatti is the best FUE doctor in India. Good luck!
  9. As long as you don't touch the scalp/transplanted area it should be fine. Usually HT patients are given Prednisone (a corticosteroid) to control swelling. I read that doctors in Turkey; Dr. Demirsoy or even Dr. Koray does not! Some say icing your forehead (to constrict/reduce swelling on the forehead BEFORE it happens) helps. Another technique involves using a head band with a channel of least resistance provided on the sides by inserting some rolled up gauze beneath the head band near your temples so that the fluid can easily migrate down from the sides rather than on to your forehead/eyes/nose.
  10. Thanks for the updates. Swelling is actually due to the saline injected during the transplant. Apply a hot compress then massage your face from the inner forehead out towards the edges of your face and down to help get the fluid to migrate down the sides of the face and into the neck. Massage once an hour for 5 minutes while awake. Since this swelling is due to the injected saline, icing can actually make the swelling last longer by constriction. Heat does the opposite, causes dilation. All the best!
  11. The best surgeons in Turkey are: 1. Dr. Koray Erdogan: Euro 2.5/graft 2. Dr. Hakan Doganay: Euro 2/graft 3. Dr. Erkan Demirsoy: Euro 1/graft
  12. Please do some more research. Have you seen these threads? http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169747-bosley-experience.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170580-bosley-vs-other-surgeons.html Good luck!
  13. Thanks for the update/pictures. Dr. Demirsoy is an amazing surgeon. His work always looks so refined. I am sure you will get great results! Are you on Finasteride? If not what is the plan for the future? After few years you will need a second procedure to fill in those "eyes" and "mouth", right? Any swelling so far? Are you using a head band? Did they give you steroids? All the best.
  14. kal121, That's not the best scar, I agree. I am sure you did research on how strip scars may turn out, right? The good news is, it can be repaired! Other than your scar, I don't think you have any other issue to worry at this stage. Even that scar may fade out a bit in few more months. As others have said, 6 months is NOT enough time! You need at least 12 months to see the results. Some times up to 18 months! "not even a SINGLE TRANSPLANTED HAIR has grown" How do you know that? "I am bald even after a Ht" No, you are NOT bald pre or post! This is how bald men looks -----> Bald man Having said that, I do not think you needed 4000 grafts in the first place! You are just 22 years old and NOT bald...! Please find new friends! All the best.
  15. Thanks for the write up. Are you on pain killers? How bad is the pain? Do you have any more pics? pre/post... donor.. front? Wish you good luck with healing/growing.
  16. I have travelled to India several times. When you say India, you are talking about 1.2 billion people (17% of the world's population), living in 28 states (world’s 7th largest country). Yes parts of India are unclean, disorganised and poor compared to the west. But did you visit Dr. Bhatti’s clinic at Chandigarh? Or have you seen any of the famous hair transplant clinics in India? Doesn’t it sound a bit unfair to generalize like that based on a single trip or a visit to some hospital? Yes, some times there are protests going on in Turkey. But again, that doesn’t mean they are protesting in every part of Turkey 24/7 throughout the year! And you don’t go to Taksim Square for hair transplants anyway! The last time I went to New York, someone was shot in front of the Empire State Building, just a block away from me! NYPD fired back and injured nine bystanders! Would it sound fair if I say that America is unsafe for hair transplants because they shoot at bystanders? This forum recommends doctors from both Turkey and India. I guess there must be a reason or two! There are thousands of happy patients coming out from clinics at both these countries. Isn't it more important to focus on the doctors, their clinics and the results they produce?
  17. Good luck. Looking forward to updates. The driver/car was from your hotel? How much time did it take from the airport to your hotel? Thanks & all the best.
  18. Blake (Future_HT_Doc), Thanks for the reply. Can I pls ask you; do you personally believe that this kind of result (just focusing on the issue of direction/angle alone) is acceptable from a recommended doctor? What does it take for a recommended doctor to be removed from your list? Has this ever happened? Thanks.
  19. asiandude, So sorry about this. But I don't think you can fix the direction or angle issue without another procedure to remove those grafts. A trip to Belgium or Turkey can fix you! I totally agree with the views expressed in this thread. But I know the moderators here doesn't like members talking too much against their 'recommended' doctors. So I will have stop here!
  20. Yeah, I will show you my FUE scars. You please show me your strip scar in 2 years and we will compare which one is less visible, ok? I don't want to hijack someone else's thread. So I am not going to post any more FUE vs Strip arguments here. But I will say this; just search google images for hair transplant scars, or search this forum, and compare how many strips gone wrong vs FUE's gone wrong.
  21. From my experience, surgeons who do mainly Strip will try and talk you into strip. I do not need a smily face on the back of my head for the rest of my life! Even with the best doctors it may not be possible for you to have a short buzz cut if you go for Strip. Additionally there is always the risk of scar stretching. (See here) With a good FUE surgeon the yield is comparable to that of strip. I will never do strip. But good luck and all the best to you.
  22. jonlove, Sorry to hear about this. I believe you should share the doctor/clinic name here. Other HIV+ patients can avoid all the trouble.
  23. I would not go for FUT. I do not want to live the rest of my life with a visible scar (with the possibility of the scar stretching) on the back of my head. You will never be able to cut your hair short! If I were you I would do FUE with Dr. Bhatti at Chandigarh. He is capable of giving you good results!. His results are all over the internet and on this forum too. He does body hair transplant as well! I believe you need the combination for best results. All the best.
  24. layal, I did not mean that I would choose a surgeon purely based on his communication speed. There are so many brilliant FUE surgeons who also communicate faster! Dr. Hakan is one of them. If you want to try Belgium: Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Devroye, Dr. Feriduni, Dr. Mwamba. There's always a possibility that you may have an infection, or end up with nerve pain, or even worse, necrosis. You need to have good communication channels open with your surgeon! That's just my view.
