  1. I commend your diligence because you are taking the absolute best approach. How may grafts are you booked to receive, London81?
  2. Whoa. At three months post-op, you're coming along just great... I also would have told the doc to transplant a maximal amount of grafts, especially with undergoing strip... Congratulations!
  3. Hi there. Would you happen to have any immediate post-op photos in your possession? I'd like to see the placement of the grafts onto the right side of the hairline.
  4. You may want to use a luke warm towel and scrub your scalp for a few minutes each day. At one month post-op, you should be noticing some significant shedding of transplanted hair shafts.
  5. You should have no issues if you have allowed your grafts to heal for a couple of weeks. Best of wishes!
  6. Hair2dayhair2moro Pursue medical therapy for a year. You have quite a few options for your choosing. Avodart, Propecia, minoxidil, saw palmetto, protein, and multi-vitamins. On the other hand, a fifty-graft test might prove to be effective in the frontal third. Therapy requires commitment either way you choose to decide.
  7. Stewiemason, having 3000 grafts transplanted into a CD-size area of baldness means that you have one hundred thirteen square centimeters of scalp to cover. This number of transplanted grafts yields a density of about 26.5 follicular unit grafts per square centimeter. Many patients could be satisfied with 40 follicular unit grafts per square centimeter in the crown, or the frontal scalp. A density of 26.5 follicular unit grafts per square centimeter could provide significant coverage in a CD-size area if there is already some amount of preexisting density in the area. Your unique physical characteristics, hair density, and follicular unit density are factors that will determine your degree of coverage in this hypothetical equation.
  8. Certainly have more than one consultation with a physician experienced with treating scars. You could also get some idea of viable treatment methods by sending us a few photos.
  9. Doutee27, your comments set a very positive tone... Most individuals are very impatient with regard to surgical hair restoration. It makes sense to wait until 30+ years of age so that the pattern is more evident. On the other hand, you might consider that there are individuals who seem to posses too much patience.
  10. Dating a woman who didn't like bald men sounds like a challenge. I would feel insufficient and incompatible with a woman who had such a preference. If time allowed me to experience noticeable hair loss, I'd plan an intervention to keep as much hair as possible. Not all women are unimpressed by men with baldness. In any case, do whatever makes her happy...
  11. You could reduce your expenses by cutting back on entertainment and committing to a more strict budget. Your eagerness to regain your hair will likely intensify as time passes. Hair restoration is one of the best ways to improve your appearance.
  12. Young 22, you are suffering from advanced hair loss that may progress to a Norwood 5A. You are only a candidate for FUE/BHT if you can manage your expectations. Not all prospective hair restoration patients are told about the progressive nature of hair loss or the limitations of surgery. More specifically, you should know the limitations of BHT. Not only do you need to understand what occurs during the process of hair loss, but you will also need to develop realistic expectations. The limitations of your donor resources will dictate the degree of restoration that is achievable by surgery. Your donor should offer you the ability to restore a significant amount of your current hair loss, but you should also expect more hair loss to occur in the future. The future is what is most important when you are attempting to find your unique treatment plan. Try not to have one single goal or entertain the idea of regaining the hair that you had many years ago. Definitely consult with more than one clinic because there are differences of opinion shared among clinics. For a professional assessment of your unique circumstance, send (customer.care@mywhtc.com) a few photos of your body hair. Thank you for sharing your case.
  13. DannyBoy785. You are probably seeing more significant miniaturization. During miniaturization, hair weakens in caliber, slows in rate of growth, and can become lighter in pigment. The miniaturization process is the sign that hair loss will eventually occur. Every hair on your head belongs to a respective phase. If you want to combat this condition, you can try products that stimulate anagen. This will allow you to keep your hair for a longer period of time. Hair loss is an uncontrollable and progressive condition. There is no guarantee that anything will stop your hair loss.
  14. The surgery photos are all good for being immediate post-ops. The density and number of grafts seems to be consistent.
  15. This isn't an unreasonable request from your doctor. A degree of trimming is always required to harvest a decent size amount of grafts in a single typical FUE session. On the other hand, shaving isn't required for FUE, depending on your clinic and the size of your session. There must be a donor area in order to hide the extraction sites so the donor hair must be adequate in length. Obviously each case is unique and should be treated as such.
  16. Nice and balanced restoration of the frontal hair line. Not too many or too few transplanted grafts... The patient's looking great at a good time.
  17. This is definitely an excellent example of proper hairline work. The results provide a great impact on the patient's appearance.
  18. Many hair loss sufferers tend to make hair restoration a priority after learning that hair transplantation offers a permanent solution to regain a more youthful appearance. This patient pursued MyWHTC clinic in hopes of increasing density in the frontal scalp and rebuilding the frontal hairline with FUE by FIT. Similar to FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), the FIT (Follicular Isolation Technique) physician is also able to harvest hair in the donor area (back of head) without use of a scalpel. FIT involves no need for stitches, sutures, or linear scarring. The FIT technique allows patients to say goodbye to the trauma associated with the more invasive surgical method (Follicular Unit Transplantation). We employ our FIT method of FUE harvesting to enable the physician to selectively harvest each and every donor follicular unit to improve the overall quality of patients’ results. During hair transplantation, a FUE physician is more apt to deliver better aesthetic results within the donor area with FUE by FIT. The advancement of FUE is what we refer to as our minimally invasive preparation method (Follicular Isolation Technique). The most commonly associated limitation with FUE by FIT is its higher initial cost per graft. The physician performing FUE by FIT retains the ability to ensure that every donor follicular unit graft is viable prior to placement into the recipient zone. Dr. Patrick Mwamba, MD, successfully treated the patient by transplanting 3500 FIT grafts in one session over multiple days. The patient has light brown hair of a medium-fine caliber with about average donor density. At twelve months post-op, this patient has obtained significant coverage and is pleased with the noticeable improvement. Although an individual’s hair loss pattern and hair characteristics are unique, one can compare the details of his case to those presented by reputable clinics in order to find insight on what to expect as a result of hairline restoration. This patient can totally avoid being identified in public as a hair transplant patient. The results duly compliment the patient’s overall appearance by removing the undesired appearance of the premature aging caused by advanced hair loss. We are elated to present yet another happy patient who can return to wearing more options of hairstyles.
  19. @Justin77 Hi. Nearly all of the grafts to restore this area should contain single hairs. These single-hair grafts should be meticulously placed to add at least half of the density that currently exists behind the hairline. What is essentially being recreated is the natural feathered orientation that must be established to maintain a totally soft appearance. Hairline work is by far the most important area merely because it is the most viewed area on the scalp. The measure of your natural hair density would be significant in determining the appropriate number of grafts that are needed to properly treat the area. You may want to consider having more than one session to effectively manage your donor resources. Your donor density and donor hair characteristics will dictate your ability to achieve your defined goal(s). The examination of the donor and recipient area will also affect how cautiously you should approach surgical hair restoration. You can expect to experience more hair loss in the front, and it seems that your recession might advance to a class III A in the future. The most important information that you can know is that it's very uncommon to treat this problem by simply having one single surgical procedure. The purpose of surgery is to create the illusion of coverage by minimizing the visibility of the scalp. Where most individuals lose the benefit from their results is when they don’t develop and retain realistic expectations. Individuals who desire surgery should realize that they may not have enough donor hair follicles to treat all of their recession in the future. Hair restoration by all means requires gross amounts of commitment. Each of us will define happiness based on varying degrees of expected results. Adequately maintaining expectations is a very critical part of realizing the benefits of hair transplantation. Your hairline would look great with 1800 grafts. I don't see any benefit to lowering the current location of your hairline. I'd keep it where it is and add conservative density in case you experience significantly more recession in less time than expected. Thank you for sharing the particulars of your case and using the community for its purpose!
  20. @Rollo Tomasi Hi there. You could also sleep in a reclining seat and dawn a neck brace to maintain your ideal position.
  21. Having a hair transplant in your 30's is a reasonable act. There is a difference that exists between proper hair restoration and effective utilization of donor resources. As I presented this thread, I wanted to create the awareness about the progressive nature of this single problem. I agree, having a long-term plan of attack is the proper way to combat hair loss. There is no way of knowing how many cycles of growth our hair will experience. We have no way of controlling this condition. All anyone can do is try to reduce it and minimize its effects through surgical and non-surgical means.
  22. There have been a handful of uses for body hair transplantation. Donor restocking should be one procedure that we consider to be beneficial for patients who must place a strenuous demand on their donor area due to advanced hair loss. Camouflaging noticeably sparse areas within the donor area is a legitimate application for patients to utilize body hair resources. Unique circumstances to improve a patient’s predicament after mismanagement of donor resources has occurred and it allows the primary focus for any patient to be informed consent. Informed consent helps a patient to avoid any further pitfalls relating to surgical hair restoration. There are definitely a few doctors around the globe who are well-experienced with beard hair transplantation. We at MyWHTC clinic have seen body hair results from FUE by FIT to be effective in countless instances but each patient's case is different. Recently, the antidote for patients' extensive scarring, extensively depleted donor areas, and strip scarring has been our methodical approach to beard hair transplantation. Dr. Patrick Mwamba, MD, expertly performs the most effective applications to yield acceptable coverage and aesthetically pleasing body hair results. Our surgical staff understands how critical protocols are for establishing consistent improvements in the specialty of beard hair transplantation. Establishing systematic procedures for body hair transplantation not only offers patients better results, but it also allows the doctor and medical assistants to better utilize their time and resources as they perform this labor-intensive procedure. Although body hair transplantation is still experimental in many respects for many clinics, they will charge patients excessive rates despite this fact. Beard/body hair can provide great relief for prospective repair patients and those suffering from an advanced degree of hair loss; specifically, the individuals whom would have otherwise been unqualified as surgical hair restoration candidates. Each source of body hair typically displays slight variations in quality depending on the location from which they are harvested on the body. The quality and caliber of this hair can be weak, fine, medium, or coarse. Most commonly utilized body hair sources are chest, leg, arm, back, and beard. The less commonly harvested locations for body hair include nose, pubic, armpit, and abdomen. The texture of the tissue greatly contributes to the degree of difficulty in regard to the less commonly harvested sources of body hair. Beard hair is typically a more robust caliber of body hair and it also shares a relatively similar rate of growth to scalp hair. Beard hair may seem to be the best source of body hair but it still shares the same limitations as all other sources of non-scalp hair. Regardless of the caliber and wave of body hair, there are no certain factors to determine how an end result will appear. Generally speaking, the unpredictability associated with body hair places it as the all-time secondary source of donor hair. We have seen body hair take on the characteristics of scalp hair once it has been transplanted onto the scalp. Body hair that is placed onto the scalp can promptly alter in appearance as it continually grows in cycles. The most notable display of changes in body hair characteristics is the increase in length and decrease in wave; the shorter, wavier hairs taken from the body tend to grow longer and straighter on the scalp.
  23. @tsemusko Beard hair can provide great relief for prospective repair patients and those suffering from an advanced degree of hair loss. There are quite a few docs around the globe who are well-experienced with beard/body hair transplantation. We at MyWHTC clinic have seen beard/body hair results to be effective in many instances but each patient's case is different. Beard hair is body hair so the limitations of body hair and results are not the same as scalp hair. Regardless of the caliber and wave of body hair, patients who have considerably great beard and body hair characteristics can't predict how the end result will appear. Body hair still is less predictable which generally places it as a secondary donor source.
