  1. @Imnothere Hi. The slight contrast should fade with time, my friend. Keep those precious grafts away from extended sun exposure and you should be fine for Valentine's day! Take care.
  2. Cryingoutloud, this is precisely true... Everyone, let me reiterate my point. 1000 grafts can certainly make a noticeable cosmetic improvement if you are increasing density to an area other than the actual frontal hairline. What you really want to do is obtain as many hairs per graft as reasonably possible to yield natural-looking results. A patient can see a noticeable improvement from 1000 grafts depending on their hair color, hair character, donor hair density, hair shaft caliber, & the number of hairs per graft. Below is a depiction of a patient's result from 700 FUE grafts:
  3. Looking good, Rothki. Let 'em grow! As usual, I certainly appreciate the update!
  4. Unfortunately, finasteride cannot actually stop your hair loss. Finasteride only reduces the level (approx. 69%) of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in your blood and on your scalp. It was originally used for treating prostate enlargement in men. You should take finasteride to slow down the process of hair loss and reduce its effects as much as reasonably possible. Typically, in the vertex (top of the scalp toward the back), this drug improves or maintains the quality and volume of your hair. Basically, by accepting the long-term commitment to this drug, you are slowing down your rate of hair loss and thickening your thinning areas. Prior to taking this big step, certainly read all warnings and cautions regarding the possible side effects associated with this drug. Whether to be on medical therapy for hair loss is a very intimate decision. Deciding to pursue surgical hair restoration may not be as important as deciding to maintain your existing hair. Hair loss is totally progressive condition. Not only do you as an individual hair loss sufferer want hair but you should also want to keep it as well. At MyWHTC clinic, we strive to educate you about current hair restoration options to help you decide on what treatments are most beneficial and which to avoid.

  6. My questions are: Does the recipient area have scarring? YES. THE RECIPIENT AREA SHOULD HAVE SCARRING. THE RECIPIENT SITES ARE WOUNDS THAT ARE MADE BY SMALL INCISIONS. THESE WOUNDS MUST PROVIDE THE BLOOD SUPPLY IN ORDER FOR THE TRANSPLANTED GRAFTS TO SURVIVE THE TRAUMA ASSOCIATED WITH BEING TRANSPLANTED. AFTER THE RECIPIENT AREA HAS HEALED, THE SCARRING ISN'T TYPICALLY NOTICEABLE TO AN UNTRAINED EYE. AN AVERAGE PERSON COULDN'T DETECT RECIPIENT SCARRING BY EXAMINATION WITH MAGNIFICATION. Like if I were to shave my head would it be noticeable in the front? NO. YOU WOULDN'T SEE ANY NOTICEABLE RECIPIENT SCARRING IF YOU SHAVED YOUR HEAD. Is the scarring in the donor area really so bad you would not be able to shave it clean? YES AND NO. THERE IS NO AVAILABLE METHOD TO PREDICT WHICH PATIENTS WILL HEAL WITHOUT NOTICEABLE SCARRING. THERE WILL BE HAIRLESS AREAS ON THE SCALP AFTER EACH HAIR GRAFT IS TAKEN FROM THE DONOR AREA. THERE ARE PATIENTS WHO WON'T BE ABLE TO SHAVE IT CLEAN AND THERE ARE PATIENTS WHO WILL BE ABLE TO SHAVE IT CLEAN. DONOR SCARRING IS FAR LESS NOTICEABLE WITH CELL THERAPY AND OTHER TREATMENTS (E.G. PLATELET-RICH PLASMA). P.S. I hope this info is helpful, everyone.
  7. There is no perfect surgical procedure that will allow you to totally avoid any scarring. FUE will allow you to wear it shorter in the donor area, but you would see some evidence of the procedure if you totally shaved the donor area. If you undergo even a minor FUE procedure, there are changes that will occur with each small incision. The changes can be noticeable from weeks to months after the procedure. When you cut skin tissue and extract follicular units, you change the orientation of the scalp. The hair on your head affects the appearance of the scalp to a certain degree, so removing it can obviously change the scalp’s overall appearance. During the FUE process, a proper distribution of the extractions and evenly harvested donor zones improve the overall aesthetic appearance of the donor area. Nowadays, we have advances (e.g. ACell) and other preparation methods to improve the chances of minimizing any noticeable donor scarring. We offer a preparation method of FUE called FIT donor restocking. Basically, it involves replacing the donor scalp hair with other available donor hair. Here is an example of what you can expect to see of a shaved FUE donor:

It is a way to minimize the appearance of FUE extractions and the loss of density while improving the aesthetic quality of results in the donor area. 9. You can make the plunge gracefully when you effectively treat hair loss as a progressive condition. You are doing yourself justice by leaving donor resources for the years to come.
  10. You might have a better yield than you think, Voxman. Hair is what you have been waiting for, right?
  11. Hello JohnSkiles. I suppose that if you would like to shave less frequently, you wouldn't benefit from the procedure as much as you should than if you desired to wear your hair significantly longer and in different styles. The purpose of today's hair transplant surgery is to give the illusion of coverage. To create the illusion of coverage, the surgeon has to use a gambit of techniques to hide the scalp. If you want to preserve your pristine donor area and total hair transplant undetectability, you would need to be willing to compromise its perfect aesthetic condition. There is no perfect surgical procedure that will allow you to totally avoid any scarring. FUE will allow you to wear it shorter in the donor area, but you would see some evidence of the procedure if you totally shaved the donor area. The recipient area should show no noticeable scarring to the untrained eye. There is no way to guarantee that you will heal as well as you might think. If you undergo even a minor surgical procedure, there are changes that occur with every small incision. When you cut skin tissue, you have to contend with changes in skin pigmentation, hair pigmentation, and blood flow. I would not pursue the effects of surgery because of a desire to prolong your time between shaves.
  12. C29f. You don't have anything to worry about here. You are just experiencing some normal shedding of hair shafts. You will be experiencing the shedding of hair shafts as the transplanted hair follicles go into the dormant phase.
  13. Hi Effe. Are you not pleased with the location of your hairline, or are you not pleased with the density that exists on your hairline? Below is an example of lowering the hairline of a female who had a naturally high hairline and large forehead.
  14. Hi. You might want to improve your chances of finding surgical hair restoration by considering some degree of traveling. FUE is in many places but Toronto shouldn't be your limited boundary of finding expert FUE clinics. FUE is a less invasive surgical technique that involves no linear scarring in the donor area. There's no stiffness in the back of the head after the procedure and no suturing is required. The initial cost per graft is more expensive, but the surgeon can selectively choose each follicular unit graft. Some patients who wear their hair longer can choose strip (FUT), but they will have the linear scar in the back of the head. Hair restoration surgery is not a simple decision and you shouldn't base your decision on one geographical location. You have lots of time to look around for a clinic that best meets your expectations and appropriately addresses your specific goals. I hope this response if helpful, Fearlessbtk.
  15. @Cryingoutloud Hi. Can you post a photo by chance? When did the bumps begin to show? How much inflammation or discomfort are you experiencing? How many grafts did you have transplanted? With the exception of the skin condition, do the results look natural-looking? Thanks for sharing your concerns. We look forward to your response!
  16. Hi. You will experience a change in appearance in the next few years and this will change how you see the problem. I hope you choose to stay away from surgery until you have pursued maximal medical therapy. Swallowing a pill won't always be easy, especially if the results aren't visible until six to twelve months. Do everything that you can to avoid surgical hair restoration. The effects of surgery are permanent and there is no guarantee of satisfaction. The commitment to a treatment plan is crucial because the nature of hair loss is progressive. Make sure that your physician devises a treatment plan that is in your best interests. Your donor resources are very finite and reserving donor supply is critical due to the fact that future hair loss is unpredictable. We can slow the progression of hair loss but we can by no means control it. Imagine losing much more hair... You should consider yourself to be extremely fortunate and you should enjoy what little hair loss you do have. Have your hair loss monitored, but don't undergo any surgery until you and your treating physician knows what is occurring.
  17. In a relationship, some guys demand their respect, some want their respect, and some guys have it coming to them no matter what... A man is more than the amount of hair he has on his head. Men are not defined by their degree of hair loss.
  18. @Emerson12 Hello there. 1000 grafts can certainly make a noticeable cosmetic improvement if you are increasing density to an area other than the actual frontal hairline. What you really want to do is obtain as many hairs per graft as reasonably possible to yield natural-looking results. May your next procedure be a charm on the 3rd time around, Emerson12.
  19. @Toubey Hi. This is merely a normal condition as a result of the trauma from your procedure. Definitely follow your post-op instructions because you don't want to cause any damage to those transplanted grafts. You should remember to keep your grafts covered and away from sun exposure.
  20. Hi fellows. I'd just make her like you for the person you are, but finding her will require some effort because you shouldn't settle... If you begin to notice balding, you should let her know how much it troubles you and begin finding treatments at that point. @shreyas24. None of us are perfect and we should act accordingly. I think that confidence is everything when it comes to dating.
  21. Hi m0dthispny. The left side seems to be producing a better yield at the five-month mark. These are still very acceptable five-month results. Congratulations on the big improvement!
  22. @Young22 Hi. You are more than welcome to share any photos and voice all opinions. We look forward to it, Young22. Take care.
  23. Hi Baldybee2. This is true; it is common to have a few on a non-balding head, but miniaturizing hairs aren't being replaced with stronger hair. Essentially, the caliber of these hairs are being reduced with each cycle as they shed. Over a period of time, or eventually, they won't regrow and will be gone forever. The way to keep your hair for a longer period of time is to stimulate it. Are you maintaining your hair as well as you would like, Baldybee2?
  24. If one of your surgical hair restoration goals is to obtain moderate coverage over a particular area of less than about 180 square centimeters (about 1 ? times the area of a standard music CD), you could quite possibly find happiness in surgical hair restoration. An average donor area will have about 80 follicular units per square centimeter. The size of an average donor area (back of scalp) can be as large as 200 square centimeters. Many factors are responsible for successful surgical hair restoration. Proper placement of follicular unit grafts and consistent balancing of hair densities allow for the transplantation of your hair to appear natural-looking. The illusion of fullness from a surgical procedure can generally depend on your unique physical characteristics, follicular unit density, and hair density. Density equals the number of follicular unit grafts over a given area (Density=Follicular units/Area). If you are a Norwood six patient, you could have about 300 square centimeters of baldness on your scalp. To attempt to adequately treat this pattern of male pattern baldness, the majority of a recipient area may require over 6000 grafts. The strength of your donor area will dictate how much hair loss you can effectively treat. For this reason, not all individuals are candidates for surgery, but each case is unique. The limitations of surgery only allow the surgeon to have an ability to create the illusion of coverage. Not every hair transplant patient can attain full coverage. In cases of advanced hair loss, full coverage is not a reasonable result. A patient’s goal may be achievable if the expectations are realistic. Some patients can be entirely happy with the results from a single procedure. On the other hand, you may well find yourself at the cusp of achieving your primary long-term goal. At this point, you may quite possibly alter your perception of uniquely defined happiness by adopting more artfully intricate surgical hair restoration goals. Once you decide to make the move to pursue the surgical solution for you, remember to question every aspect and step of the entire surgical process. By all means, practice due diligence and attend more than one consultation for good investigative measure of such a life-changing process. Remember, not all well-known clinics operate as methodical experts in the field of hair transplantation. It is your responsibility as a patient to know the skill set and degree of artistry possessed by your chosen physician. The irrefutable evidence that separates the best surgeons is the consistency of producing aesthetically pleasing, natural-looking results. Comfortably making an informed decision about surgical hair restoration through in-depth consultation with your prospective hair transplant physician should minimize the probability of the occurrence of any physical and psychological trauma associated with extensive donor scarring, mismanagement of donor resources, and waste of hard-earned financial resources. During consultation, take an appropriate amount of time to discuss your hopes, concerns, and prioritized goals for hair restoration. Carefully verbalize your defined goal to ensure you clearly communicate your most ideal coverage, ideal density, and hairline design for appropriate balancing of facial features. Being thoroughly educated on the causes of hair loss, understanding the progressive nature of hair loss, and knowing the limitations of today’s surgical hair restoration methods can provide you with the necessary tools to readily identify and recognize the most commonly made mistakes and pitfalls associated with undergoing hair transplant surgery.
  25. The female hairline has to be restored with finesse. It shouldn't be hidden under any infamous hat appendage to conceal any facet of any female's natural beauty and appeal. A feminine hairline also has to be one of the most distinguishing features to contribute to a female's appearance. Adult females typically have lower hairlines than adult males. Females usually maintain their hairlines without the significant recession that males commonly experience. Young males typically have lower hair lines during adolescence and normally experience varying degrees of recession as they enter adulthood. A feminine hair line must complement a female's more vertical forehead which is typically more rounded than a male's. Similar to the eyebrows, a female's hairline must compliment and frame the face. This female patient had a larger forehead so the hairline was lowered to add proportional balance to the face. Dr. Patrick Mwamba, MD, meticulously transplanted 2,699 follicular unit transplant grafts onto the frontal hairline. Below are depictions illustrating the thirteen-month results that don't articulate the degree of contentment that this patient has obtained. Prior to the treatment, the patient could never show the frontal hairline and lacked the confidence to try other hairstyles. One thing is for certain, all correspondence with this patient is truly heartfelt motivation in every sense of the word. We are very excited about the patient’s positive change. What a pleasure it is to help another individual who sought high-quality hair restoration at a cutting-edge medical facility where compassion dictates our actions. Hairline design is merely a single talent that exists within our insurmountable skill set. This is one example of creating a more aesthetically appealing feminine hairline to mimic the essence of Mother Nature. As of today, this patient has no apprehension of being detected as a hair transplant patient. The results are acceptable to allow the patient to wear virtually any desirable hairstyle with genuine confidence. The patient seems to have adopted a totally different way of thinking and is proud to have a significantly improved social life.
