  1. The female hairline has to be restored with finesse. It shouldn't be hidden under any infamous hat appendage to conceal any facet of any female's natural beauty and appeal. A feminine hairline also has to be one of the most distinguishing features to contribute to a female's appearance. Adult females typically have lower hairlines than adult males. Females usually maintain their hairlines without the significant recession that males commonly experience. Young males typically have lower hair lines during adolescence and normally experience varying degrees of recession as they enter adulthood. A feminine hair line must complement a female's more vertical forehead which is typically more rounded than a male's. Similar to the eyebrows, a female's hairline must compliment and frame the face. This female patient had a larger forehead so the hairline was lowered to add proportional balance to the face. Dr. Patrick Mwamba, MD, meticulously transplanted 2,699 follicular unit transplant grafts onto the frontal hairline. Below are depictions illustrating the thirteen-month results that don't articulate the degree of contentment that this patient has obtained. Prior to the treatment, the patient could never show the frontal hairline and lacked the confidence to try other hairstyles. One thing is for certain, all correspondence with this patient is truly heartfelt motivation in every sense of the word. We are very excited about the patient’s positive change. What a pleasure it is to help another individual who sought high-quality hair restoration at a cutting-edge medical facility where compassion dictates our actions. Hairline design is merely a single talent that exists within our insurmountable skill set. This is one example of creating a more aesthetically appealing feminine hairline to mimic the essence of Mother Nature. As of today, this patient has no apprehension of being detected as a hair transplant patient. The results are acceptable to allow the patient to wear virtually any desirable hairstyle with genuine confidence. The patient seems to have adopted a totally different way of thinking and is proud to have a significantly improved social life.
  2. @Uk_lad I appreciate you sharing your history. You seem to have reasonable expectations and that is a good start in qualifying for surgical hair restoration. Whatever you decide to do will be life changing. A 5.5 centimeter hairline may work for you depending on the shape of you forehead , but try to avoid considering dense packing at age 31. If you must do surgery, start with a test of 100 FUE grafts so that you can evaluate the growth and find out if you are able to accept the effects of the results. Observe how well your donor will heal and examine the yield to find out if it is acceptable for you. By the way, you seem to have average donor density, but you have medium-fine caliber of less pigmented hair. Your happiness is worth no amount of money but remember that money can't necessarily allow you to buy any additional donor hair. Make sure you chose an ethical clinic that specializes in conservative hairline restoration. The last thing that you want to have happen is poor quality of work being performed because you will only complicate your situation. This may not seem important now, but not all well-known clinics can restore the hairline and even fewer of them can remove bad hairline work (hair angles and improperly placed grafts). Don't just rely on photos results or expensive pricing to dictate what you perceive to be high-quality restoration. Keep us updated and best of wishes out there on your hair restoration journey, brother.
  3. This is the type of subtle change that makes the patient happy because the patient can remain totally undetectable. Currently at six months post-op, the patient can see a small reward from such a very smart approach to strengthen the front. This procedure is evidence that nothing has been wasted, and the patient’s donor resources were efficiently utilized. We can expect more growth over the next six months.
  4. @Arlo If you spend a good amount of time on this hair loss community, you will observe that most of the members here offer an honest opinion regardless of what clinic you are pursuing. If you are in search of the truth, definitely ask as many questions as possible. This can be the difference of you succeeding or failing. Take advantage of this online community as an invaluable resource. Not all individuals are candidates for surgical hair restoration. You may want to post a few current photos to gain some insight on improving your unique situation. Definitely have more than one consultation to increase your chances of having your procedure properly performed. Your diligence to find out the credentials of this clinic that you are currently consulting is very important. Don't worry about special pricing until your research is complete. You may not way to limit your choices based on pricing and location. One of the most important considerations for you to make as a consumer is the level of quality that you should expect. I don't know any history of this clinic that you have mentioned. There is a very small chance that this clinic can offer you a price for unlimited graft because you only need and have a certain amount of donor grafts. You could also have more hair loss at a later time in the future so efficiently manage the hair in your donor area. Welcome to the forum, Arlo.
  5. February 26, 2014 As of today, we are extremely pleased to announce that we are officially offering an additional day of consultations in Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Patrick Mwamba, MD, is extending his itinerary duration to meet the demands of the many individuals who are seeking free in-person consultation with a hair restoration expert. These free in-person appointments offer individuals a great opportunity to discuss how we may help them achieve their hair restoration goals. During the consultations, each attendee will receive first-hand knowledge of what Dr. Patrick Mwamba, MD, recommends for non-surgical and surgical treatment of hair loss. Dr. Patrick Mwamba's specialty is in follicular unit extraction (FUE). FUE involves no knife, no scalpel, no stitches, and no linear scarring. WHTC is exclusively dedicated to the advancement of hair restoration surgery. Educated individuals can decide on what method is most beneficial and which method(s) to avoid. 6. The best place to start doing follicular unit extraction (FUE) homework is at home for most of us. Starting your searching off efficiently is to have more than one consultation to do yourself some level of justice while offering educational awareness regarding follicular unit extraction hair restoration surgery. There are lots of different clinics that will recommend higher and lower numbers of transplanted follicular units to treat each individual patient’s case. The most uncertain aspect of proceeding with an FUE procedure is the experience of the newly trained surgeons and medical assistants. Don't compromise excellent results by limiting your choices to geographic location, greatly reduced pricing, and hastily scheduled FUE surgery prior to completion of research of a prospective FUE clinic. One FUE procedure is surely life-changing but one bad FUE procedure comes as life-altering and adversely affects a patient's mental health, emotional health, and self-confidence. The effects can last an entire life time so be very cautious when approaching an FUE clinic that solely divulges the positive information of their entire FUE procedure and omits the negative aspects of their FUE technique. Do think it to be peculiarly abnormal when you find yourself in a consultation and happen to be hearing everything exactly how you wanted to hear it. Every word has exactly the sweetest ring to unfurl your ears. Be mindful of how quickly you should excuse your premature departure from such consultation and proceed outside to the safe confines of your parked vehicle. Hair Restoration Network is a prolific online community that promotes forward progress which is constantly being made. This community is conducive to achieve upward progress for those who seek to find reputable FUE clinics. We must all conduct due diligence through research and education. Don't concern yourself with the pressures of sales pitches, promises, cheap pricing, and unsubstantiated patient results. This uncommon information is not typically made available to the newer forum members. WHTC clinic relishes providing prospective patients with the most vital information prior to their pursuit of the most effective treatment plan. I certainly intend to provide some lesser known details to those who are on a time limit to observe hard-obtained information. I can’t hesitate to help anybody who searches for truth. There are more limitations than most prospective patients seem to realize as being substantial. Some of the limitations are the initial cost per follicular unit graft, the number of follicular units transferred in a single sitting, and possible effects on the scalp can include unnoticeable and noticeable areas in the donor area that show signs of hypo-pigmentation and hyper-pigmentation. Many patients never experience any noticeable changes in pigmentation within the donor area. In some cases, FUE patients can be required to have their donor area shaved or buzzed to approx. 1mm in length. The option for zero-shave follicular unit extraction (FUE) by follicular isolation technique (FIT) is exclusively available at WHTC clinics. There are a few select FUE clinics that consistently offer and perform a non-shaven preparation method of FUE around the globe. Zero-shave FUE by FIT is the most minimally invasive and stealth form of donor harvesting currently available. With zero-shave FIT, the patient remains totally undetectable in the donor area immediately after the FIT procedure. FIT is the method of harvesting which follows each initiated follicular unit incision that occurs subsequent to extracting complete follicular units. Similar to FUE, FIT is also a minimally invasive surgical procedure consisting of removal of naturally-occurring follicular units. FIT also involves no linear scarring, no sutures, and no scalpels or knives. Enjoy the week, everyone!
  7. @ UK_lad I would have to ask you what specific goal is your first priority. Oftentimes, the amount of hair loss can place too great of a demand on a patient's donor resources. Of coarse, many hair loss suffers have the desire to get exactly what they had at the age of eighteen. This isn't usually the case as the average patient has approximately 6500 FUE prior to exhausting the and overly thinning the area. I must also see if you could post a few more photos to show the current condition of the crown area. Like the procedure of any consultation, we prefer to see and measure your donor area, discuss the negative aspects of the nature of the FUE surgical method, and have you attempt to provide a indication of the hairline location that you find appropriate. The best place to start is to have more than one consultation to do yourself some level of justice while offering educational awareness regarding the surgery. There are lots of different clinics that will recommend higher and lower numbers of adding transplanted follicular units to treat each individual patients. The most uncertain aspect of proceeding with an FUE procedure is the experience of newly trained surgeons and medical assistants. Don't compromise excellent results by limiting your choices which are pertaining to geographic location, reduced pricing, and hastily scheduling FUE surgery prior to completion of intimate research of a prospective FUE surgeon. One procedure is life-changing but one bad procedure leaves adverse effects on a patient's mental health, emotional health, and self-confidence. The effects can last an entire life time so be very cautious when you are approaching any FUE clinic that has solely divulged positive details of the procedure. There are more limitations than most prospective patients seem to realize. You are in the right place to make great forward progress on your quest to find excellence in FUE method. Please make time to conduct due diligence with your studies of reputable FUE clinics. Don't concern yourself with the pressures of sales pitches, promises, and undocumented verbal agreements. This uncommon information is not usually made available to the newer forum members. WHTC clinic doesn't believe in providing prospective patients the most vital information prior to you pursuing your most effective treatment plan. I certainly hope that you can see my intent to provide you with such hard obtained information. Don't hesitate to let me be of any further service to you.
  8. The density of the graft placement was 25.8cm2 so that puts the hair density or the number of hairs per graft at about 3.7 This is an acceptable result considering the uniformed appearance and condition of the scar. It’s not always easy for patients to hide or explain a strip scar. The majority of strip patients are fully aware of this disadvantage prior to the procedure but a few of them aren’t. A lot of patients have the intention of wearing it longer in the back so the scar doesn’t pose any issues.
  9. @Romanino I do know that the density of the graft placement was 25.8cm2 so that puts the hair density or the number of hairs per graft at about 3.7, however, I don’t have access to this patient’s medical record so I will approach Dr. Patrick Mwamba ,MD, to ascertain the particular orientation of the grafts. The mid-occipital region of the scalp typically averages high hair density (180cm2 to 190cm2). From our observation, the yield of growth in linear scars from FUT a.k.a strip procedures isn’t always ideal when follicular density is above about 30cm2. This is an acceptable result considering the uniformed appearance and condition of the scar. Our approach was to blend the FIT extractions and minimize the appearance of the strip incision to allow the patient to wear a shorter hairstyle. It’s not always easy for patients to hide or explain a strip scar. The majority of patients are fully aware of this disadvantage prior to the procedure but a few of them aren’t. A lot of patients have the intention of wearing it longer in the back so the scar doesn’t pose any issues.
  10. From the particulars that you have relayed, you have very little chances of tissue being infected. A trapped hair can cause this minor inflammation to develope, it's basically a foreign body. To be frank with you, HairGainer, the area just needs a little tender loving & care.
  11. I agree that more than one consultation is very appropriate. Education about all hair restoration solutions is paramount. Best wishes,HatforPat!
  12. There are quite a few clinics that have patient financing. I don't quite remember many of the company names. I know that Carecredit is one of them. Don't give up and don't stop pursuing your happiness because of one setback. Sorry to hear about your loss.
  13. @sunnyd Hi. It's good to hear that your experience with Dr. Lorenzo went well. The graft placement looks very good. I have no doubt that the doctor and staff have given you their best. Itching can be one seriously annoying condition but its a good sign. How many hours were you in the chair? Are you itching in the donor at all?
  14. I enjoyed reading your post, Cant decide. It's hard to focus when you have expectations that can consume your thoughts. You have the right mentality to maintain a healthy stress level. Seems like the stress can fall away when you process your inner thoughts in a positive manner such as this. I hope that each day gets better and better for you. You should be looking fantastic by the time that things begin warming up outside.
  15. @Hairgainer Hi. It looks like you may have a few pimples to relieve. Were you prescribed any antibiotics at your clinic for post-op care? Did you happen to notice hair fragments shedding over the last few weeks? Have you been scrubbing this area as you wash your scalp? Have you irritated this area in any way or attempted to apply pressure to these areas? How long has this redness been visible?
  16. There are a few reasons why graft counts can vary among recommendations. Some clinics are more aggressive than others. You may want to find out if these clinics are performing the same methods because this can be one of the reasons for the differences in graft counts. The grafts placed in certain areas of the scalp can increase or decrease the number of hairs per graft. There are several different kinds of calculated densities in hair transplantation as well. Some clinics just have different design orientation.
  17. Hi. What do you find to be desirable in a hair transplant surgeon? Are you are considering your surgeon based on one geographical location and one specific method of surgery? Has this surgeon in Baltimore given you an evaluation by any chance?
  18. Albatros, I understand your position. It’s imperative for prospective hair transplant patients to develop realistic expectations based on the possibility that they may be unable to treat all of their future hair loss. Given your current goals: temples and lower hair line. I don't justify correcting these areas with surgery. You have way too much hair to benefit from a 'session' of FUE. Maybe do a test of 50 grafts another year from now IF you must know how you heal. Maintain your natural aesthetic appearance by continuing your medical therapy. You aren't losing hair, keep it that way...
  19. I don't know the particulars of your entire case, but Rogaine won't help or hurt your yield from the procedure. The hard part is being patient with the early growth that you are already noticing. At 3.5 months post-op, I would speculate that someone like yourself would see little improvement if you did start it. Rogaine could be beneficial for you in the long term but it requires commitment.
  20. @ASA Hi. Shaving the donor area is not necessarily a requirement for a session of FUE. Many clinics will require the donor area to be shaved to complete the session, however, there are a few clinics that requires no shaving at all. We focus on allowing our patients to have more than one option to avoid a completely shaved donor area. Shaving the donor area will reveal the linear donor scar from your FUT (strip) procedure. Strip scars can be several millimeters wide so shaving isn't an option for many individuals. Very few individuals will buzz down their heads with a strip scar showing in the rear. At the present time, patients who want to wear their hair short (1 to 2 guard in length) in the back will either have their strip scar treated or chose FUE method. There was no option to have FUE at the time that your FUTs were transplanted. There's no certainty that you can have another FUT session without examining your donor area and scalp laxity. The donor area excision from FUT procedures can cause the scalp to tighten. With FUE, there is no question that it would be a viable option for you at this time. FUE is less invasive than FUT. FUE is slightly higher in cost because of the time it requires from the doctor. FUE doesn't require sutures and it involves taking single hair grafts from the donor area one at a time. FUT requires sutures because it involves cutting a wedge of tissue from the donor area. Both methods can be an option for you depending on your specific goals.
  21. @Slugworth Hello there. A two guard on the back and sides should allow you to maintain anonymity with your co-workers. They will react in a certain way no matter what length you choose. Consider initiating these changes earlier than planned because you may want to allow yourself some amount of time for experimenting with hair styling. I wouldn't touch the top unless you know for sure that your clinic will shave the top as well. You might want to give them a call to see if they can compliment you with such an arrangement. Here's another consideration for smooth transitioning after FUE surgery. Think about getting yourself some kind of concealer because you may experience slight pinkness that could linger for up to three months. This is due to increased blood flow and inflammation from the trauma of the procedure. I hope this info is helpful to you. Best of luck on your journey!
  22. Hi. Are you still on the minoxidil? If so, you will more than likely see better results with minoxidil. If you want to assess your results with minoxidil, use it for the next six months too. During this time, you should also begin providing yourself with photos for consistent documentation. Unfortunately, many times, minoxidil users won't notice any results until they have discontinued it. The purpose of minoxidil is to extend time and slow the rate of hair loss. Laser therapy is very time consuming and may not give you as much benefit as minoxidil. Not all individuals see the same results with laser therapy. Many answers depend on your specific goal for the products you choose.
