1600 grafts dr. Lorenzo (by Johnny2000)
ZeoRanger replied to johnny2000's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
I had those yellowish pizza cheese-like dots as well from day 2. I was already on antibiotics anyways as a precaution for the first 5 days anyways. Doctor told me not to worry - result of healing and dense packing. I was a bit suspecious and showed my "pizza pics" to other HT docs and they said it looked normal. From day 6 They will peel of easily when washing and are not hard scabs. Just to be on the safe side tho, ask ur doc for input! I don't think it's a infection. Infections look more angry, redder, wetter and skin would be bumpy. Since this is your 2nd ht on the same site (so no virgin scalp) did the doc say anything about your growth possibly being slower or that the job was more difficult? -
Hairpiece after a hairtransplant?
ZeoRanger replied to Scandinavian's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Does this mean you cannot wear a hat in summer as it would generate warmth as well? This would be extremely difficult because you need to cover the recipient from UV at the same time -
From a logical point of view 2 weeks is enough based on many threads in this forum as grafts are secure after 10 days. But from an irrational and emotional perspective: don't do it. You have an emotional roller coaster ahead of you and everytime you think your grafts are growing late, you'll start wondering if it might have to do with that ice hockey thing you did a few weeks ago. And you start blaming yourself... You don't sound overly passionate and excited about it, so it's not the end of the world giving it a miss.

WARNING, if considering Dr Hakan Doganay, read this first
ZeoRanger replied to paleocapa89's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
I don't think they can spot transected grafts during surgery given the intense time pressure. Most will implant whatever they extracted. Provided the doctor cut enough recipient holes. I also read that transected grafts still may grow depending on the severity of the damage.- 518 replies

So WHAT is your story?? I sympathise with anyone who has a bad result. But in your case I'm not even sure whether you had a bad result or it is just something trivial... Could you be anymore specific? "Erdogan was disrespectful and mistreated me" doesn't cut it. Only results matter. My hunch is you flew all the way to his practice but then got turned away because you were an unsuitable FUE candidate e.g. unpredictable MPB or too curly. Spill the beans already... Otherwise your "Erdogan is bad" campaign has no more merits. It's just as useless as a newbie who posts "I had an amazing result with Dr xyz" but doesn't show any photos.- 518 replies

By vaguely saying you were mistreated and that you know some other people who had issues with Erdogan you're not helping or warning anyone? Exactly what is your problem? Grafts didn't grow? Bad scarring? Grew a unicorn instead of hair? What is it that went wrong? Cut to the chase, bro.- 518 replies

Scabbing after FUE hair transplant
ZeoRanger replied to HayKay's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Read somewhere that crusting should be prevented because once they form, they can develop the "force" to pull grafts out of the recipient. Is this true? Sounds a bit far fetched. -

I remember 2 years ago the doctor in question was praised highly on this forum. Over the past year reviews with growth issues pop up on a weekly basis. I'm also seeing a pattern where "one side doesn't grow in". Clinics would love to blame a patient's freak physiology for poor growth but if one side matures beautifully and the other one doesn't, it has little to do with the patient unless he caused trauma to that side post op or pulled out grafts. The doctor did deliver great results in the past. I suspect this is a tech/implanting issue. How many bad reviews does it take for a doctor to lose a recommendation?- 518 replies

After my HT (only hairline lowering) I realised that my hair dressers butchered me for decades! Because I had to shave down for the procedure so I grew my hair without getting any cuts for 5 months. I was amazed to find out how thick and wavy my native hair was. I was always under the impression that my hair was super fine and thin. False. It was only thin because hairdressers thin it out excessively just so that they look really busy when doing the job. The thinning cut might be good for some customers but for me they're doing more harm than good. I think most hairdressers are employing a one cut suits all approach and that's where they stuff up. From now on I only let them cut the sides and back. Just a tiny bit on top and I make it crystal clear that they should not even think about "thinning it out".

Thanks for sharing. I'd never consider a hair system but it's good to know. So why exactly is this practice a graft killer? Is it the constant skin irritation that impairs growth or is the glue so toxic that it kills off grafts?

20 Months PO Second Surgery Still No Growth
ZeoRanger replied to simple14's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Sorry to hear about your unsuccessful procedures. As far as I know saline is a very outdated storage solution that has the potential to harm grafts. Modern clinics use an ATP solution. Did your scalp get infected post-op? Your dermatologist should look into scalp conditions and rule out lichen planopilaris. That's on of the silent mystery diseases that prevent growth. If it's all good, ask one of the recommended doctors here for repair. You still have some donor for a repair procedure. -
Is this a matter of "breathing" or causing irritation? The grafts are supposed to get their oxygen through the bloodstream. I read many times that skin cannot breathe. Anyway, I saw a thread by a woman who started wearing a wig post op after 7 month with sub par results. So wig being a bad idea is a fact. But I wonder if air supply is the issues here or some other issue eg the wig being so tight that it cuts off bloody supply to the scalp or adhesives causing an infection...

Proscar / Finasteride affected by air exposure? Storage?
ZeoRanger replied to ZeoRanger's topic in Hair Loss Drugs
Thanks, Blake. Yes I was worried about exposing the drug to air and it losing its efficacy. Thanks for clearing that up. -
Proscar / Finasteride affected by air exposure? Storage?
ZeoRanger posted a topic in Hair Loss Drugs
Will air exposure impair proscar when you cut the pill into 4? Is it mandatory to store it in an air tight container? I used to keep the quarters in a contact lense storage thing but since I started taking more vitamins I put them into a 7 day pill storage box/organiser but I noticed it's not airtight. -
How was your duckling phase
ZeoRanger replied to chriswalkerr's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Up the healing process of the individual. Upon reading I learned the following The redness generally peaks at week 6 then starts fading. Redness last longer in younger patients Lasts longer in fair skinned patients (esp ginger). From own experience severity depends under which lamp you are. Fluoro is the worst. Mine started fading after week 12. At this stage I didn't care about anymore cause my fringe was long enough and the grafts started growing in. -

It was dreadful. But honestly 3 months of suffering are worth it, if you get amazing new hair as a reward. I only needed to get my hairline fixed but unfortunately the clinic shaved off all my existing hair so I could not cover the recipient site with my fringe. So I ended up with a red, sometimes almost purple Batman logo right above my hairline. Sexy AF. I was always thought my hair was growing too fast but during this period it took like forever to get decent length to cover the recipient. I have to dress businessy at work so a hat inside the office looked awkward. I could not say I had a HT. A few people in the office are bald and if you get an HT even though you not bald it's sending a political message to the people who control your pay... I built my own flesh toned head band with double sided tape that would loose sit on my forehead without even touching the grafts - but blocking views of them! Explanation: sports injury. People were still annoying constantly asking how it was healing and if they can take a peek. IMO rude AF... They should really get on with their lives... After 3 months when I took it off (as my fringe was long enough) they were almost disappointed there were no visible scars. It told them that's because I strictly stuck to my docs orders and allowed 3 months for the injury to heal. I tried make up.. Mineral powder but it did not work. Aloe vera didn't work either. It dried up too quickly and left gunk on my scalp. I really wish clinics would NOT force you to shave it all off, would spare you a lot of agony. Other than the redness there was no issue with the OP for me. Luckily no shock for me. Just a shocking temporary Batman logo tattoo above the hairline. -
Concealers after HT
ZeoRanger replied to chriswalkerr's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/159726-psa-use-concealers-possible-complications.html Based on the above, I would not do it... However there are plenty of forum users who did use make up and it did not affect the yield. -
Should you shave the recipient area?
ZeoRanger replied to olmert's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
With FUE shaving the donor perfectly makes sense. I also understand that you shave the recipient area if you place grafts in between native or very close to the native hair. But shaving the entire head and areas that are 2cm from the actual site of operation... Clinic policy... Not having native hair to cover up the surgery was def the only bad aspect of the operation. I did think clinics don't fully realise the stress it brings onto some patients. 3 months of hell and stupid questions by people who should stick to their own business. -
Best post op redness treatments

I did not have much luck with aloe vera... I put it on and it dried up within an hour then i had to wash off the dried up residue... Was I just using the wrong brand? -
