  1. I have had secondary shedding from 5 months on. In other words the early growing hairs have shed and I am experiencing growth in the late bloomers. The net effect is a "perceived" non growth or no difference from 5 months vs 7 months. I would expect shedding of the late bloomers at 9-10 months. Hair growth after ht has a cycle. People show allow at least 12 months to pass judgement. transhair. You have better growth at 6 months than the average I've seen. I'm certain at 15 months you'll see the results. Also keep in mind you ht will not be as dense as your native hair. You have dense but thin native hair which is tricky to blend with only 1 HT. You may need a 2nd pass imo.
  2. To my eyes, she appeared more attractive before her transplant. I think the hairline doesn't match her facial structure and features at all.
  3. I can see your point of view. My initial thoughts were similar. But this is a conservative and safe approach, a suitable hairline as this guy gets older and safe-guarding for further hairloss. Not the top result I've seen, but pretty good. Overall it's a solid foundation for a second HT in the future.
  4. take note finasteride won't get you back the hair you lost in the recessed areas, but it will slow down or even stop the normal recession path you're on. You should reassess things in 6months. If you notice further recession, then start on the above mentioned strategy. should you wish to see the affects of meds, click onto KO's link on his signature
  5. 1. Count your lucky stars you don't have diffuae mpb. 2. At worse you'd be a norwood 2 and very mild vertrx thinning. What you should consider. 1. Low dose finasteride, say 0.5mg/day 2. 0.5mL minoxidil twice a day 3. Take hair supplememts comtaining biotin and saw palmetto. Low dose will limit potential side effects and more importantly is better than doing nothing at all.
  6. When i was taking exercise supplements, I noticed accelerated hairloss.
  7. I see black pinholes where your grafts were placed. This means the hairs are just below the surface. Good signs for you.
  8. This case caught my attention. After reviewing the post op photos, it doesn't surprise me why romeo09 had little growth. There is a lot of bleeding and the graft appear quite pluggy and raised. I suspect that there was a lot of trauma to the grafts or the recipient area hence the bleeding. I wouldn't classify this as refined work. Something went wrong here, sad
  9. olmert: what is a fancy HT doc? Best not to be labelling and name calling when trying to state your argument and contention. Perhaps you might want to refer to these fancy doctors "established". They docs have been in the industry for a long time, worked hard for their credibility and deserve respect from colleagues and patients alike with their history of excellent consistent results. Also any surgeon has a right to charge whatever that want and think their skill is worth. The market will ultimately dictate if their fee are too high or not by how busy they are. In HT (or any aspect of life) there is a price point that is suitable for everybody. Go with whom you're confident with and who's fee suit your financial situation.
  10. Its not at all helpful to be undermining creditability of non "top" ht doc based on their fees. Is it because they charge top $$ and based in USA and Europe that makes them top? Who are these top docs you refer to? There many great HT doc in FUT and FUE that charge local prices ie India and Turkey come to mind. Your bias against FUT is epic and will say much of it is opinion rather than a balanced healthy regard for facts. FUT has its place in HT plan and in some cases the best choice over FUE. But you would never ever acknowledge that right. To rebute you, I do regard FUE as a very good option too. One that I will do when or if the time comes. Olmert.. I think you wont find many better than Radha. She is in the theatre hands on from start to finish. $1 pwr graft for 100% undivided care is beyond anything you'd find. Madhu is fine if you dont mind what you stated about him doing several procedures on the same day.
  11. Unless your mpb has stabilised, your gains with this HT will be lost against the loss of your native hair. I hope you the best result from your HT but I think without taking finasteride, you may be thin again in another 2-3 years. At least you'd still have hairline created from the HT, but your overall look won't be dense if it's not supported by your native hair. Do re-consider taking finasteride, it really helps a lot.
  12. looking good, thanks for showing view of hair when wet. It should look double the density when dry.
  13. At 6 months the pinkness is almost gone, but with your lighter complexion it could be a few months more.
  14. So far so good. You should get more growth from 5-6 months. I will suggest that you should cut your hair short back and sides so it blends better with the top. At 4 months I cut hair short to grade 4, it looked much better. Dr.Radha doesn't have much of a following, but please still continue to post as it still helps others even if they don't comment.
  15. If you are able to schedule a procedure with Dr. Radha you'll have a great result. Don't let the slow email communication put you off having procedure with Radha. I've always contacted her office on the phone if I needed something answer urgently. Are you doing FUT or FUE? If you're doing FUT, I'd suggest the below: - do scalp laxity exercises. This will get you an extra 300-500 hundred grafts. - use betadine solution in your shampoo when you clean your hair. - perhaps follow my hair care regime from the above post. - wear a hat for the first 3months when you're outside to prevent sunburn or excessive UV light on the recipient area - don't touch or pop any pimples unless they're still there even after 2 weeks. Use betadine ointment daily on pimples.
  16. thanks for your comments hadenough2014 Dr. Radha does not post in this forum much, so I hope my case highlights her skill as a HT surgeon. Originally I was going for a FUE procedure, so it would've been incredibly interesting to see what results I would've had from FUE with Dr.Radha. But I opted for FUT instead after considering the yeild vs scar debate. In the future I will do a FUE procedure with Dr. Radha so I will document that if/when that happens. The scar is very good so I hope to cut down to grade 2 in another month or so. Credit to Dr. Radha for perfecting the trichophytic closure technique. I've been doing detailed documentation of my progress from day 1 post surgery to highlight the the real-life/real-time progress, not really knowing what the outcome was going to be like. But progress is beyond my expectations. I see other Dr.Radha progress doing quite well also. I think my donor hair is very strong hence my early results but I also think the haircare regime I used helped my growth a lot too. I used coconut oil on the scalp from day 15 to 3 months twice daily, I took fish oil twice daily, took Foligan supplements as per instructions, shampoo my hair with baby shampoo for the first 2 months and then used regular herbal shampoo every second day. Take 1mg Finasteride daily. I also use 0.25ml 15% minoxidil 3 times a week and 0.5mL 5% minoxidil every day. I also treat my hair with neem oil twice a week while showering. Hope this info helps you and other people.
  17. I'm in agreement with Matt. Though fue has the desirable dot vs linear scar, it will never equal FUT which has superior yield and lower transection.
  18. if my 6 months results doesn't convince you about Dr. Radha over Madhu, then nothing would.
  19. 6 months now. Rapid amount of change between 5 & 6 months with growth and thickening of graft hairs. Before the growth I experienced some extra shedding of graft hairs from 4 to 5.5 months then growth followed rapidly. Still getting a few pimples each week. Styled my hair just to see what it looked like, it held up better than I expected. Looking like what it was when I was 25/6. styled side top front
  20. I'll most likely be a nw6/7 witbout meds in 20 years, that's the nature of my mpb. On my first page, I was sporting a combover type hairstyle and with concealer my hair looked ok. But if you look at the pre-op photos you'll see the extent of my NW5. When I styled my hair, the illusion of coverage was good despite large areas of balding. Now 5 months after a HT it's almost undetectable that I have thinning when I use product and concealer. But day to day since the 5 month mark, I don't even bother styling my hair to conceal anymore, even when going out. Meds has improved the crown only, it hasnt done too much for the mid scalp and nothing at all for the hairline. With another 12 months to come to full maturation, it'd be interesting to see how thing look then.
  21. Great work Dr.Cooley. Very natural placement. I think the patient would've had even more outstanding results had he been on meds for the last 5 years don't you think? I'm keen to see the results of 2nd HT and where the hair placements are going to be.
  22. hey KO, I didn't take many photos pre-op and very few photos I did take were of the crown as it didn't concern me at all. My main concern was the hairline and mid-scalp. Luckily I think I've responded to fin for the crown. I'm due for high res photos soon for 6 months mark. Update in upcoming weeks. 6 months pre-op (phone photo) 5 months post-op (phone photo)
  23. Its always good to look back on past photos to get perspective where I started from. I'm amazed looking back from where I was 2 years ago and now. The freedom and liberty of not worrying about my hair is the biggest payoff for me Outdoors my hair is a little bit see-through on the front left under harsh sun but indoors there is not much issue if any. If I have no more improvement from this point on, I'd still be fairly happy so long as it stays like this for the next 15 years. 2 years ago before starting finasteride (using fin 15 months before HT) 6 months before HT 5 months HT outdoors 5 months HT indoors (taken same day as above photo)
  24. I had below average laxity hence I was more prone to donor shockloss. I had donor shockloss at each nylon retaining suture beginning at roughly the 6-7th week. It couldve started earlier but I had my hair long until the 6-7th week so I never noticed shockloss until I decided to cut my hair down to a grade 4. I'm at 6 months now and can cut down to grade 3 without issues. From my experience it was at 3.5-4 months that I saw shockloss regrowth. As for recipient shockloss, I experienced very little.
  25. Oh holly guacamole... Pls don't use Dr. Google anymore. You have mpb.. You will have periods of accelerated hairloss for no reason other than that the why it is. Use fin or dut to stabilise your hairloss and have a balanced diet.
