  1. On your way to having a good result
  2. Hi mycrowngone. You will eventually be bald nw6/7 in the front and crown. Its much much much worse to be bald in the front than the other way around. Fix up the front and only the front. Its where you look at yourself in the mirror and where people see you 95% of the time. Who looks at the top and/or back of someone's head? Not unless that person is looking fr9m behind or an absolute giant looking down at the top of your head. Whats the point of have hair on the crown and thenater losing hair in the front? Ok if you want to look like a Shoalin monk. Fix up the front first and foremost.. then if you have any grafts left over on your 2nd or 3rd HT address the mid area and crown. In my opinion. Regards Logan
  3. the shedding started from mid last week but nothing dramatic, most of the shed were long thick hairs in the donor area and to lesser degree miniaturized hairs. Also had some graft hairs fall out, I'm guessing a few hundred up to this point. Not sure if its related to natural hair fall from the HT or from resuming finasteride. It's kinda coincidental that as soon as I started fin I had progressive shedding.
  4. I wpuld describe FUT and FUE this way. FUT: almost all transections will occur during the strip harvest as this is the only blind moment for this procedure. Good surgeons who master strip incisions and careful not to transect during the strip will have very mimimal grafts transected. When the strip is divided in follicular units its highly improbable that any folliciles are damaged as they are completely viewed by eye under magnification. Advantage of FUT is that more grafts can be extracted with statistical less transection rate. FUE: each follicular extraction is technically done blind. Of course most follicles direction of growth can be predicted by the surgeon but not all of them, some can be as curved as a "C". Each and evey follicular extraction has a small inherent risk of transection. Advantage is that you dont have a linear scar and recovery time is quicker.
  5. Ablisshair. I didnt have many blood-type scabs, the few ones I did have were mainly on the left side where most of the work as done. I think had more serum scabs than blood scabs. Serum scabs seem to heal and fall off quicker. I guess I was lucky cos my head looked at its worse at day 1-3 and got better each day after that. Perhaps try washing your head twice a day, but make sure you ask your surgeon first. My surgeon instructed me to wash twice a day with a dabbing action with my fingers to not disrupt or damage the grafts, so that's what I did. My postop day 1-15 regime. Eat 2 eggs for breakfast. And fruit and grains. Yoghurt with cereal and soy milk. Wash my hair and scalp twice a day for the first 15 days, morning and night time with baby shampoo. Resumed my viatmins and hair supplements day 6 (should've resumed it on day 1) Resumed finasteride on day 10.
  6. In addition it cost me 32$ for 3 month supply of 5% minoxidil. U just gotta know where to look online. Seems like you've burned a fat hole in your wallet. So hope this info regarding using proscar helps out.
  7. Btw I use the generic brand.. cost 50$ for 3 months supply. Perhaps propecia is 1 script only. Ask your GP for proscar, then get the generic of proscar which is 50$ at chemist warehouse.
  8. Find another GP. My doc gives me a script with 5 repeats
  9. I had this conversation with Dr.Radha regarding FUE and FUT. I'm paraphrasing things, but she indicated it pains her and her staff to do FUE procedures because in her heart she knows that a lot more graft won't survive as compared to FUT. Initially I was considering FUE due to the no linear scar aspect of FUE but later realised I would be severely compromising my donor area should I need a 2nd or 3rd HT procedure. For my NW5 pattern of diffuse hairloss, FUE wasn't the best HT option for me. If only I had just a NW2/3/4 receding hairloss pattern, I would've had FUE instead of FUT.
  10. thankyou David -TTP and Pete-of-Farjo for your interest and following. UPDATE: Day 16. I've eagerly been waiting for this day to moisturize my hair with oil overnight and wash it with regular shampoo in the morning. Day 16 I am allowed to scrub my scalp. Ohmygosh it feels so nice to scrub my head. Up til now, I've only been allowed to use baby shampoo and use a "dabbing" action. I dont think I've had any grafts fall out or if they have fallen out its been very little. The grafts still look very strong and have even grown about 1-2mm since my last update. No redness on recipient area, only slight numbness on the scalp, mild tenderness on the donor scar. This must be atypical of most HTs. I'm sure I'll have a mega shed at day 30-40 right? If I dont then it'd be the best thing I could I ever hope for myself in my recovery. I very happy with the scar for day 16. It looks 75-80% healed to me. Looks blended in with the normal scalp and not a large scar gap either. Credit to Dr.Radha for her precise work, I think there was very little trauma to the scar and recipient area during surgery, therefore I'm having such a good recovery so far. 11. if you have a lot of doubles and triples you'll get the density you're after, if you had more singles you might need concealer.
  12. Great hair growth superb work. The hairline (as spanker eluded to) is a bit harsh, some irregularity would've nailed this HT
  13. While researching Dr. Path for my own HT, I come across Dr.Pong. Long story short, he deemed me unsuitable for a HT and offered to assistance or referral to someone who could. I wasn't impressed at all. Needless to say, I think he picks and chooses his patients to keep his results mickey mouse. I could be wrong, but it appears that way to me. I had no issues with other surgeons later on that were able to do a HT for me. As a HT surgeon, his results looks good. Perhaps you can assess your options of surgeons in India or Turkey.
  14. if you have a good donor area and stable hairloss pattern that is not diffuse, then that would be the best candidate. In saying that, if your hairloss is diffuse, which I have, you can also still be an acceptable HT candidate and have good results. Perhaps find another reputable HT surgeon for a 2nd opinion.
  15. I'm sincerely disappointed for you. I'd wished you would've had better outcome. Hopefully you have a much better outcome in the future.
  16. I think the problem was in the first HT of 3600 which was spread over the front and crown area. Such a big area would've needed a lot more grafts perhaps 3000+ for the front and 2500+ for the crown. It was spread thin to begin with so results weren't gonna be great. Hopefully with the 2nd HT most of the grafts were dedicated to the hairline and front cos imo the hairline and front density is far more important crown coverage. Lets all wish oncled all the best.
  17. hi Oncled, I'm curious how you are progressing since your last update.
  18. Initially I was going to do FUE, but changed my mind to FUT when I realised that I may need more a viable donor area for future HTs. FUE will be my 3rd and last HT procedure in my HT plan. How far are you into your HT? If you are at 3-4 months, its still gonna look bad. Most people don't get much growth until 6-9months. For me i'm on day 13 and it looks good no shedding yet, but at 2-3 months I could get a mega-shed, not looking forward to it if/when it happens.
  19. Apologies, I am meaning 95% graft not transected ie harvest yield. Growth yield is different. Growth success is an unknown factor it is impossible to guarantee that. You can reasonably guarantee low transection in FUT whereas FUE is much less. Thats a fact. Btw mickey85.. less of your agro would be great.. just saying my friend. Follicles do not all sit straight on the scalp. Some are straight, some have a curve. It's theses curved follicles which will be transected more often in FUE. However the straight follicles also have a risk of being transected as well. You have to remember that FUE is a blind method hence the lower yield rate. FUT is only blind during the strip harvest stage. Transection during FUT by the top surgeons is minimal compared to FUE. FUT doesnt suit everyone. Nor does FUE. Weight up the pros ans cons and consider what's best for your case. But purely based of yield, FUT will always win. When it comes to recovery and scaring FUE has the trump card. I've done a strip procedure and plan to have a 2nd FUT in 15-18 months. But at some stage I might do a small FUE procedure to fix up the FUT linear scar.
  20. Oh gosh, 3 botched HTs, that is distressing. Would be great to see how this case turns out. Keep the forum posted
  21. As good as FUE is right now or might be in the future, it will never be near the efficacy of FUT, FUT yield from top surgeons will be at least 95%. With FUE, even if the surgeon is exceptional and well trained, they will transect at lesat 10-15% of the grafts, remember they are punching blind. They are just guessing the direction of the direction of the hair follicles, the top FUE surgeons guess very very well. 60% is a poor yield so I plead with you not to consider FUE with your shortlist of surgeons if that's would they are gonna guarantee you. IMO, I would recommend FUT for HT1 and/or HT2 and save the donor are for FUE for HT2/HT3.
  22. Hairline looks good and the results look good considering the hair length but hard to really judge unless this fella's hair is cut shorter. I think this fella may want to get a new hairstyle to maximise the full beauty of his new hair cos its dragging him down making him look 10 years older than he should look.
  23. Do u know what exactly what is happening here? I certainly don't, I have no idea why fake identities or other inconsistencies. No my place to add more fuel to the fire. But there are those now throwing accusations here and there without substantiated evidence. Let the mods or whoever do their job, investigate the validity of things and then get back to us about the true nature of things. In the meantime, I'm getting notifications everytime someone writes something on this thread and frankly kinda annoying as there's not much to be learnt here. There are threads I'm interested in learning from (this thread is in the NOT category) and it's distracting to get notifications from this thread all the time. Ok, is there a way I can not get notifications from this thread. help?
