  1. Hey guys, maybe this is the more appropriate forum. Anyways, down to brass tacks. Last month a cyst that was on my scalp became irritated/infected. The Dr. prescribed me a 10 day cycle of Cephalexin. In about two days the Cyst popped and leaked all over my scalp, it took about two days of me pressuring it to drain/draining on it's own that it completely disappeared. It was about this time I noticed the front of my scalp was very inflamed, scaling, and red. At no time did/does the inflamed area itch. However, this is a very noticeable amount of dandruff on both the red area (front scalp) and back of my head. Some extrinsic factors - The red area is all transplanted hair (four years ago). None of the products I apply/use has changed in the past few years. Once or twice a month I use Selsun Blue. Two months ago (prior to all of this) I began using a blow dryer occasionally. Additionally, prior to all this, I occasionally noticed redness behind my eyebrows. I'm assuming you were all trained by Dr. House, and GO!' Thanks guys, Josh
  2. Hey guys, So my treatment was roughly... 4 years ago? Anyways, after the treatment a small bump appeared on my scalp, it was a cyst. 4 years later the cyst became infected, who knew, pictured above, and I was given 10 days of antibiotics, Cephalexin. The cyst bursted on day three, took another two days to fully drain, now it's like nothing was ever there. I discontinued the antibiotics, a few days later I noticed my scalp is red in patches, not fully covered, and limited specifically to the implanted hair and not found on any other hair. I did not at any time change hair products. However, I did begin using a hairdryer occasionally about three months prior to anything. At no time did the redness ever itch. Over another few days my hair began thinning quite a bit a peeling. I began to apply a product called "Exederm." The redness did not dissolve so I discontinued applying. I have a dermatology appointment tomorrow to hopefully figure out why but I worry they may not be too familiar with implanted hair; or maybe that isn't even an issue at all. Thanks guys, Josh
  3. Is there a shampoo that's highly recommended just for its regeneration properties and not harsh chemical ingredients? From what I understood in reading the Propecia studies (I do my homework) --- ALL of the participants in the studies used Nizoral in conjunction with the Prop? Josh Jones
  4. This is why this Forum is amazing. Thanks for the replies guys, truly appreciated. Josh
  5. I purchased last night: Seslon Blue - Medicated; and Nizoral - Anti-Drandruff Shampoo Wasn't sure which would work. I washed my hair last night with the Selson, and I actually notice a pretty decent improvement this morning. I was it again this morning. I just actually read "how often you should shampoo your hair," and I wasn't aware it wasn't something you shouldn't do every day. I am going to use the Selson Blue 1-2x/week until the dandruff is gone, and then switch to Nizoral 1-3x/week permanently (as I hear it has hair growing effects) As for the thickness of the hair, I greatly appreciate your response. I am glad to hear that 5 months is "early" still, I am aware it's a year long experience, but I was told months 3-6 are the "MAJOR" changes. My doctor said my receding hairline area wouldn't grow in like the other areas, which left me concerned as he mentioned that after I took the damn medicine to knock me out for the treatment. I'm somewhat disappointed in my Doctors post-op contact, I haven't been a very needy client, made all my payment and I've asked maybe two questions in 5-months, and each time I was promised a reply from him, I received neither. However, his daughters replies have been very delightful. Josh
  6. Hey Guys, Question1: I'm 5 months post-op and I redness/irritation here and there, some minor pimples, etc. Nothing crazy. I then switched from Rogaine to Minoxidil and it caused a major flare up on the transplant area of my head. Redness, itchy, bleeding, almost like a chemical burn type effect. Anyways, I've since stopped using it and it no longer itches or had giant blemishes. However, it's noticeably red (I never wear a hat anymore so I'm not sure if it could be from the sun burning the skin?) and is flaking skin off like no-ones business. Does anyone have a possible solution to get rid of the redness/flaking skin? Question2: I believe the word is "Caliber," when referring to the density of the hair, which is essentially my question. The hair in the recipient area is nice and fine and definitely coming in. However, it is noticeably thinner than all the hair that where before. I'm 5 months post-op and am curious if this is something that is corrected towards the end of the year? Or if it's just the luck of the draw. Thanks, Josh
  7. I started Fin 4 months. I'm a 26 year old male. I too was paranoid of the sexual side effects, mostly because sex is very important to me. I have had a strange issue with it, but it can't be isolated at all. I experienced ED a few times during sex, with women I was very attracted too, but it didn't last very long, and within a few minutes I'd be ready to go. For the last 5 weeks I've been with the same girl, and the first night I was with the girl BOOM, ED within 10 minutes, I was actually kind of laughing at the situation. 5 weeks in, sex on average 3-4 times a day, I've never had a single issue with it. I can't isolate it because also I was under massive stress due to law school, and other medications such as adderall. That's my experience.
  8. Thanks guys! I've research a bit and found that on the frontal area, where the hair recedes naturally, that it's not actually that uncommon for the hair, post-transplant, to grow unevenly at times? Consensus maybe? Also, could anyone input on what adding Nizzoral would help with? Are there any other products that would be overly useful? Thanks, Josh
  9. Dr. DeYarman - 2500 Graphs on 1/24/2014 Currently on: .25mg Fin/ED Recently started Minoxidil in the morning, very seldom at night. I'm pretty happy with the results, considering it has only been 4 months. There is still a lack of density that I would like, but overall I'm pretty happy. Dr. D told me that where I had the receding hairline, that it was unlikely I would get as thick of a density. I've been fairly good with the Fin. I think I've missed maybe 6 days total since I started (two weeks after surgery). I did experience minimal sexual side effects, still had desire, just during sex it would just go limp for no reason, very annoying, though didn't last very long. Currently I don't experience it at all anymore, could be though because I'm dating a girl that can only be described as my personal porn star, she's great. I was concerned that on my right side was coming noticeably less dense than my left side; I think it's starting to self-fix but it was pretty concerning at first. The scar never hurts. But things like feeling running water running on the top of my head, or having my girlfriend run her hand through my hair, I miss feeling those. I've been thinking of switching to that specialized shampoo that's recommended with Minoxidil; I may order it now. I may have an additional surgery in a year or so to increase density on the receding areas, but given I'm only four months in it could definitely fix itself. Thanks again to this forum and everyone whom makes it what it is; the information I found was incredibly helpful, and I am very grateful. The first photos was on 1-24-14 with product in my hair, and the last photo was 5-27-14 with product in my hair. One VERY noticeable thing, I recently started putting hair gel back in my hair, is that when I look at my hands after applying, there is almost never ANY hair on my hands. That alone is pretty awesome. Josh Jones
  10. January 28th - March 10th Update Photo. Quick few questions: 1. You can see the hair grows in much more thicker in the middle, is that because there was a blood flow there previously? 2. Where I had my receding hairline, what kind of thickness would I be expecting? 3. What is likely to come off these little sprout hairs? They seem so all alone. Hah.
  11. 2500 units by Dr. DeYarman, done on 1/28 All of the photos are actually about a month a part. I've been pretty good with the Finasteride so far 1.25mg ed. No issues with my sex drive at all. The hair is growing back nicely, I think. It seems to be following the hairline that I had before, which concerned me, but I'm at two months. I can see small hairs sprouting, which is definitely a nice indication. Also I researched it on here and I noticed that most peoples hair grew in thicker where the was hair prior, and it seemed it took a bit longer where there was no hair (in my case the receding hairline). Didn't really get "shock loss." I did have hair falling out in small amounts here and there, but nothing noticeable. The hair that is falling out has a thick white wax like residue on it. Which is beyond me on what it is. I've had zero bleeding/pain. Started using Rogaine in the morning, I read someones article about that it may help speed up the process, who knows. Lots of chemicals. I was going to ask about what the special shampoo they recommend to take with finasteride, recommendations? Thanks, Josh
  12. Thanks bud! Looking bald is kind of a pain the ass, but time flys when you're in law school. Josh
  13. Uploaded Photos: 1-31-14 and 2-05-14 Sucks looking like an old bald man! But definitely looking forward to the next 11 months! Josh
