  1. Most of the questions mate have been covered with people’s experiences a million times across the forums. Use the search features to find relevant threads. In a nutshell there is an element of risk with hair transplantion in terms of it not working optimally. And all drugs have side effects. And there is a risk with having side effects with Propecia. I personally do not take it and fortunately do not need it and would not be comfortable taking it . You need to weight it up and make a personal decision. There’s plenty out there who had the sides but equally there appears those who have not.
  2. Just my 2cents. While researching was impressed with Erdogan and Kesers results. What put me off having a HT in Turkey was the grafts numbers quoted. Which seemed excessive for the area being covered. I’d rather pay slightly more and preserve my precious donor.
  3. Hi Johnfish, Congrats your results are looking excellent so far. Do you have a pre op picture before any work done? And also maybe a picture of where you are now with some harsher lighting from above? Thanks
  4. QUOTE when I was balding I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the reflection staring back at me, now I look in the mirror and think this is how it should’ve been. This statement here really resonates to me when I started out and can totally relate. Am sure it strikes a chord with many others too. Congrats on your HT journey man. The outcome has been great ??
  5. I disagree slightly around 7 months being 'early' in the process of the frontal third of the scalp. Most grafts should have appeared in this area by now. Back towards crown the growth is normally slower and can take lot longer. I would advise the OP to grow the hair out so the thin areas are very clearly visible. Who was the surgeon? I also thinks this looks like a well known Dr from Brussels's work. Will let the patient confirm though.
  6. I don't agree meds are a pre-requisite across the board for hair transplantation. Not every one needs them and am proof of that myself. It's possible that bald spot won't progress that much further. Every individual is different. There's plenty of guys in their 50's and 60's sporting just a similar bald spot the same size of a small egg. Without progressing 'full cueball' My loss pattern was well established before I took the plunge meds were of no use as my hair was robust everywhere else with no minutarisation In this case bottom line it needed more grafts for the area covered
  7. Looks great. You have come a long way! Do you have any front facing pics to compare clearly against the before?
  8. Looking good.! Hows the redness coming along? Looks pretty minimal from pics and am sure even more so in real life. Have any work colleagues noticed anything?
  9. Love Dr Maras work. Top drawer surgeon I don't think I've ever seen a sub par result from him
  10. Congrats on your procedure. Should be an awesome result ! Also considering Dr Lupanzula for temple points so will follow your case with interest. Interested to see when the redness fades on your temples. Have you told work colleagues etc or you looking to keep private?
  11. Always been impressed with a lot of Dr Maras's work. Good luck and keep us updated
  12. Looks great. I would say another 1000 in the crown would do wonders. Have you discussed what kind of donor you have left ?
  13. FUE scars are generally most impacted by the size of the manual punch. I would always recommend people use a clinic that uses a small manual punch of 0.8. Anything larger than 1mm leaves much more visible scarring and moth eaten appearance. FUT scars cannot be hidden by grade 2. That is a total fallacy.
  14. Congrats on your procedure. You have high lateral humps which is a big benefit in hair transplants. hopefully they hold strong as it limits your loss to the frontal and central vertex. Did the Dr discuss the hairline design with you? It seems jagged in some places. Just wondering was this a conscious design? Did you have manual FUE or was a machine used?
  15. Also I was previously asked for pics. I had procedures with Dr Ilker and Dr Lorenzo. This was my starting situation and where I got too I had a touch up after the first op of around 400 grafts to address a thin area. 3 procedures just under 6000 FUE. In fact I created a thread on 'touch ups'. As having spoken to many patients the impression I got was touch ups are very common for both procedures. Something I think patients should be aware of. Im told i still have excellent donor and upwards to 3000 grafts left. No visible signs of any further minutarisaton and I'm 40. I'm delighted I went with FUE and with my results. I regularly buzz my head and crop it close all over with no worries. Obviously if your on the higher Norwood scale FUT could be your only option Each to their own. If people are happy with keeping their hair longer and go the FUT route knowing the inherent risks and unpredictable nature of hair transplantation all power to them. Its just important people know the facts before hand. With that I bid Adieu to this thread which is just continually going in circles of former threads and covering old ground. Happy FUE bashing
  16. I openly stated i had around 85% growth on first procedure but close to full yield on my subsequent 2 procedures. Hence i created a thread on the subject. You know what though, i would have taken 85% growth on each procedure to avoid a strip scar and to have the freedom to keep my hair short. Its good you make reference to the other recently posted case. As it shows a case which is clearly a disasterous FUT procedure from a forum recommended Dr with minimal growth. The poster has had an FUE repair which appears to have yielded excellently. However if i was a prospective patient and reading threads like these and comments from posters like you. I would have the impression FUT could NEVER fail and only FUE is unpredictable. This is simply not true. There is the risk of unpredictable growth through both procedures. As i have stated many times there is no guarantee with either procedures. Whether that be due to Dr skill, technician error, x factor etc. The patient can minimise the risk by choosing a reputable clinic but never fully remove it. Bearing in mind not every transplant (FUE & FUT) will grow optimally. In general rates from top practitioners are not that far apart. There are hundreds of cases posted online which back this up. We all know there are a lot of FUE & FUT hair mills out there that should not be in business which produce sub par results. Ive spoken to several patients who are absolutely gutted they had an FUT procedure which has failed and they now don't have the budget , donor to fix their situation. And can't shave their hair short. People should be fully aware of the unpredictable nature of hair transplantation before they take the plunge. If you want to continually seek self validation that you chose the correct procedure in FUT and rubbish FUE at every opportunity thats your decision. However there are many many patients who are extremely happy with their FUE results. Also I'm not the one going around making FUT 'jibes'. Rather more responding to 'FUE' jibes and what i see as not fully accurate information. I have always said FUT can get great results just like i think FUE. Also the picture you posted when i asked for a picture of you donor shaved is irrelevant. You hair is grown out and looks at least a 4/5 cut. As other posters pointed out it is not a relevant comparison. This further reinforces the point the level of visible scarring and shortness of hair that can be achieved resulting from both procedures.
  17. I would agree it is very front loaded with the amount of grafts used. However they procedure appears to have yielded very well. If he was able to spread another 40000 grafts through his remaining scalp he probably would not get optimal coverage but should have an overall decent result from where he started. It also says he had an FUT prior.? Clearly that was a disaster given his pre ops pictures. Do we know what clinic?
  18. This thread is just a rehash of the 2015 campaigns . It is beyond tedious at this stage. Dr Feller and bloxham clearly believe if you say something enough times it will become true. I think everyone agrees FUT will yield more lifetime grafts. However the disparity between yields from top clinics FUE/FUT these days is close. Just because one clinic can't achieve similar yields does not mean other talented clinics cannot. There's simply no comparison between FUT and FUE scarring. Cherry picking atypical poor FUE scarring may pull the wool over new posters but people doing enough research will see through this. It's time for everyone to move on.
  19. Have shared them various times. However anyone interested just PM me. Staying on point as this is not my results thread. Can you share a picture of your donor shaved down for interested posters as to measure scars left by both techniques?
