  1. BOOMSHAKALAKA - You've done the hard yards. Its all Gravy here on in .. Enjoy the ride!
  2. find it hard to believe no surgeon would give him a transplant.. Have seen worse cases.. He must not have tried Turkey 😂
  3. Looking good thus far. Best of luck with it. Ive seen some insanely good results from Couto in the past. Although they have always been on great candidates with super donor. No doubt he is world class. Its always great to hear the backstory how HT's can change your life situation and happiness. Particularly after a traumatic time in your personal life. For me it was a complete physical and spiritual rebirth i am still enjoying to this day!! All the best.
  4. Looks like an excellent result and you should see some thickening up of the grafts until 13-15 months for FUE. Id give it 18 months before going in again. I would possibly go for some temple points refinement but i would not lower the hairline any further. Sounds like high norwood baldness is in your family history. You are young and need to play the long game and keep your precious grafts as your crown could very possibly start thinning out in your 30's. My 2 cents anyway.
  5. 100% pure Aloe Vera gel.. Absolute miracle stuff for me reducing redness
  6. Rule of thumb is once the scalp is healed and not irritated your good which should be 2-3 weeks. I gave it 6 weeks to be on safe side but i still say your good once your healed. As stated box dyes are generally midler than a bleach treatment which presumably you didn't have. Ive dyed last 2 transplants , just over a month out and no issues at all. Just need a cure now for grey hair , now that the baldness is sorted!!
  7. Human biology is extremely complex and unique to the individual. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Way way more than the official data have side effects but they are of varying severity and in many cases people don't even recognise them or just adjust to a new normal. Kind of like your hearing and eye sight going, it goes at a really slow pace and unnoticeable for a long time. I wasn't prepared to mess around with my hormonal endocrine system so ditched it after a few months many years ago. MY loss was pretty isolated so i replaced with transplants and the rest of my hair has remained strong so its been a good call in my case. But everyone is different and for some i recognise this stuff is holding their appearance of a full head of hair together.
  8. Transplanted hair if taken from the correct Donor area should last most of your adult life. If your hair all over thins out later in life, this will obviously affect any hair transplanted. With or without Finasteride.
  9. No question its a transplant. Meds can't do that alone
  10. That is an absolutely stunning result.. Congrats to all.. Looks like patient had ideal hair characteristics to help maximise coverage and it has made a massive difference to his appearance framing his face.. Placement and regrowth also totally on point. Beautiful work!
  11. Wouldn't panic just yet as it could be shedding for the transplant hair anyway. I had a huge shed at 18 months post op in transplanted area which freaked me out but it slowly grew back in. I've read it can be common for transplants to dip and shed around this time before 'resynchronization occurs and hair grows back at maximum calibre and thickness
  12. If you are transplanting in a different area of scalp i would think there is less need to wait. However if you are evaluating the same area in Crown and midscalp to gauge whether or not you need more grafts in this area like the OP is, then i think it is prudent to wait up to 24 months for the full result to mature and grow in. Hair calibre maturation is a major factor when it comes to transplantation and the hair will become noticeably thicker over time as it cycles after it has broke through. Therefore you want to ensure you give yourself the full maturation period particularly as crown and midscalp areas take longer to mature. You don't want to implant in the same area that is still maturing (most Dr's won't anyway) so you don't waste grafts or adversely impact the original transplant.
  13. i would wait till 20-24 months before rework on the crown. I had crown work and i observed improvements right up to 24 months in terms of thickening which made a perceived thinner area become 'Full' with no scalp visible as the hairs thickened. I have read the below statement from several hair transplant Dr's and i would agree with this particular for midscalp and crown areas. You don't want to use grafts where it may not be required It is not until 'normal' asynchronous hair follicle cycling begins at 18-24 months does hair become noticably thicker.
  14. Andros Townsend playing in the EPL has one of the more impressive results I have seen. He was badly going/gone and probably was worse than this before pic all in all. Not sure who he went too
  15. Silva was an interesting case. I think he did his work over a couple of years as he spent a full season playing with a shaved down buzz cut with the red outline of a transplanted hairline but what looked a gap between the native and transplanted hair. Whether this was down to bad work or an intentional approach is unclear. He then emerged the next season and grew it out and sported what was a very impressive joined up result after appearing to have a follow up op and finished result.
  16. To be fair I think he was wearing concealer for the first while but i think he’s not bothered now... A 2nd pass and he would have a decent result from where he started !
  17. Crown takes a good 18-24 months for some. The real thickness didn’t kick in for me until 18 months in parts . Could still see some scalp right up to 18 months . Patience needed with crowns
  18. Anthony Stokes. Former Celtic striker. Hairline has come in but looks like mid scalp area failed or just needs more grafts there think he did KSL
  19. Don’t forget Antonio Conte. One of the best I reckon as his starting point was bad. Probably even a little worse than the attached. I think he went to Hasson & Wong
  20. The point with age appropriate is really around donor capacity as opposed to aesthetic reasons. If you are that far gone and depending on your loss pattern you are best to stay age appropriate so you have enough in the bank to address all other areas as they continue to lose hair. Blowing it all lowering the hairline is rolling the dice a bit.
  21. I would say to avoid anything this like the plague. In my opinion when entering the realm of hair transplantation the most useful mindset to adopt is you will never end up with more hair than you started out with. Wait till 30 and aim for an age appropriate appearance and keep your precious grafts like a chess game for as and when you will need them
  22. No back and white answer as no 2 cases are the same. The younger you are the more relevant it maybe to take meds to sustain your native hair. If you are 35-40 with a fairly well established hair loss patten and no 'miniturasition ' (take a test) and you have strong robust hair in your remaining hair, finasteride is less of a requirement in my opinion . Especially if your goals are also more on the conservative side. Bottom line Depends how much loss you have and the state of your native hair remaining. I took Fin for a year, over 10 years ago. Had no sides then they creeped in after a year. Although not major sides like some reported it was enough for me to ditch. I also didn't want to commit to a life long drug which alters your hormonal endocrine system. The percentage of people with sides is way higher than the official figures reported and i truely believe some have been permanetly affected. Equally many also seem to tolerate the drug for 10+ years without feeling the need to ditch it although i don't believe they are all fully free of sides. You pays your money you take your chances. IMO Proceed with caution and get all your baseline blood work if you start on it so you have core data if you have issues. Once your on Fin i found it can grasp a strong hold on you psychologically as you feel reluctant to come off it due to a fear of shedding and losing more hair. I do remember that vividly.
  23. Congrats looks fantastic. Koinor is very talented. Would love to see couple extra pics if you get a chance of the crown directly from behind the end and crown 'whorl' area to see the work there. Congrats again
  24. If you start staining the pillows and so on it will be a give away. If you are seeing a girl regularly and staying over regularly it will be hard to keep it secret. However if you are just ad hoc random dating you may be able to get away with it by avoiding certain situations like you have listed. I agree with not disclosing until you are start seeing a girl regularly and see it going somewhere. I used to bend the pillow and only use it as neck support and kind of keep my head elevated. That would prevent contact with sheets and head and concealer staining when staying at a girl house. Id perfected it to a level i could sleep soundly!! If its at your place use black or dark bed wear and sheets. Have a hat handy for the following morning for journey back or quickly put hat on post a shower or bring concealer with you if you can to reapply the next morning. Perhaps by using a little less would be the optimum approach. Less can be more when it comes to concealer. Are you using fibres or stuff like dermatch? I only used fibres. Overall if you are seeing a girl a few times and see it as potential just tell her after a few dates.. Its really not a huge deal to most women and if she likes you she won't care. When i was dating with concealer most women i have told just said they would doing exactly the same thing if they were a man! Just paint a picture you are planning a HT and trying to become the best version of yourself to help your career etc and to stay young looking and don't relay too much insecurity if you can etc.
