  1. your 7th question is the most important one i think. in my opinion there is a two great doubts about smp; change in the ink color.and to achieve the 3d look. from what i have seen so far , goodlook ink is the place that really achieves the 3d look more than any others, at least the gallery in their website, some results.seem like a real 3d accomplishment. however, i am still not sure about them. their aggressive marketing is what makes me suspicious. in my life whenever i see or experience a agressive marketing all i think was how scam is the product. i think the company should be more cool. if the results speak for themselves , all you have to do is to guide the patient like many of the ht clinics represantatives do in htn. having a good who regulary posts and informs about smp from good loom ink will be very good. thats my two cents bro.
  2. Scar, İ am thinking about it for a few days now and posted some questions on the smp thread whic dr rassman involved. İf we talk in terms of ht, we all see that the smp is always applied with a same density as the sides. This as johnb said surely create weird look after 3-4 days. But what if you apply smp to have a dffuse thinner look? Some people (like myself) can life with a diffuse thinning look and still look good bald. İ asked rassman about this but havent got an answer. O course , to support it fue is the best idea for this.

  4. İ have never heard anything about the relation bw smoliking and hairloss. Also 2 days of not smoking before the procedure?? İm already thinking about how can i stand for hours in a ht without smoking and nver heard anything about "2 days before " thing. Anyone knows about this??
  5. william , congrats with your ht. 5000 grafts with fue? that is amazing! and someone please give me some info about dr.de reys since its my first time i heard about him???
  6. mpk, in the rewind case, the hairline is very very high. yes there is a significant iprovement but keep that in mind. in my opinion the place and the shape of the hairline is the most essential part of the ht.first you need to research more about fue doctors , send them pictures , have a face to face consultations if you can and tell them your thoughts about 5 oclock shadow. we all can give you some ideas but none of us are experts and our knowledge is limited. dont stuck with one doctor. chect out stephan at bhr like matt said. in my opinion he is a great case for fue buzz.
  7. im not sure if dr. rassman still follows this thread but id like to ask some questions to him since his opinions about this procedure are so important for me and many of us who are interested in smp. 1- who/which type of client would you consider as a "not a good candidate for smp"? i mean besides unreakistic expectations , what are the things that make you reject a patient? 2-is there any way of artistic approach or a research in smp to make it look like more three dimensional? from what i see in videos of applying , it looks like a tattoo artist is putting dots with a needle. 3- lets say someone has between 80-90 fu/cm2 in their donor and sides. is applying smp with exactly the same densitiy as the sides looks better or making it less is better? in my opinion the less is more approach would be more suitable because it will look like a diffuse thinner. what are your opinions about this?
  8. jhlo and ttds, i just wrote some pros and cons based on my research and they are copletely unprofessional and subjective thoughts, in short my thoughts:) however , i have been researching about it for two years now and i hope i can help. by the way jh, could you share some pictures and please give us a journal about your experience? all we do is talk with each other other this and complain that noone here on htn is doing this so your thoughts mean a lot to us.
  9. if you want a full head of hair that you want to grow than 2500 grafts is a total waste of time and money.check out h&w or rahal in complete restoration for nw5-6 cases. however, this dilemma is something that im thinking a lot. what if someone who is nw5-6 simply does not want a full restoraion and just asks for to have an hairline to buzz it really short and have the 5 o clock shadow effect? just draw a hairline with app 15 cm long and 1-2 cm wide and put it in a normal place like 5-6 cm abowe the eyebrows. i have not seen someone who has done that but some balding people just keeps thair hair "line" and nearly completely bald to nw6 level and when they buzz, it looks great. we all know the importance of the hairline so in this type of cases, can it work?? moopookoo, i think you should first choose what you want; a complete restoration or a shade effect on a bald head? i think many of the people can inform you about the complete restoration but about the shading i never got an decent answer till this day which im seriosly considering of. god luck with your decision.
  10. orry but i have to write this. im so tired thinking about it. it is in my head all the time. it affects my confidence, my pschological state, my work performance, simply everything. Im 25, and always raging that i am too young to be dealing with this,im nw5-6 by the way. i buzz my head with the lowest clipper for two years now. since im a diffuse thinner, it loks like i have a full head of hair but after e-4 days, the hairloss seems obvious.and i literally hate my hairline. it is a nigtmare and all i know is that i dont wanna live like this ,not with this hair. im in this forum for 3 years now and i ve done my research very well. some days when i see some results from h&w or rahal , i feel good because it reminds of that there is hope for me somewhere out there. but the other days when i look at the mirror and see my head and.. i lost everything. i know many of you will say life is not about hair, you need to stop worrying about it etc.. but after 3 years i know i cant do it. i feek like i need to do something but im scared. im scared that if a ht would satisfy me. im 25, so i dont want those fabcy words like "age appropriate hairline". i want a good young hairline.(not teenager hairline by the way, im well educated about this.) on the other hand, i like my buzz cut. i believe buzz cut is the best when you experience hair loss. if i kept the shade of a hair with buzz cut ,im ok witdh it so i am really interedted in smp. however it scares me even more than a ht. so now im 20 days away from finishing my military service. all my friend think about their girlfriends or their career, like normal people but all i think is my hair and what im ginna do about it. i want a normal life. normal thoughts. i wabt a day without avoiding mirrors so that i wont feel bad. i want a single that i get up and feel myself nornally, achieving my full potential. i want ti believe that this mood that is going on for 3 years ebds ib one day. im sorry for the dramatuc post but i have noone to talk to about this.
  11. chrisdav, I'm 26 as well:) All I'm saying is with that no of grafts I'm sure a lower hairline can be build. I don't want to be comparative but check out Dr. Rahal's hairlines. They are relatively lower than h&w's.
  12. In short, HIS-Helmet Hairlines, requires very short cut and nearly a white head. GLI-Good hairlines, seems like they achieved the 3D effect more than other companies, bad sales approach, doubts about doing it in one procedure. NHI-Best hairlines, best reputation , they have a lot to lose if something goes wrong with the procedure so most reliable, can give you good ideas about combining FUE/SMP, SMP work is not so impressive. All in common?? BLUE color! Yes scar, I totally agree with you. Since there is no one that has this for 10+ years , we will never be sure about this. ps: Let me tell you about my HIS forum experience. I was a member for two years and a regular poster and there is a guy who had his procedure. He always tells how happy with his HIS experience and his result but his head looked terrible in my opinion. I told exactly " I don't want to be offensive but this is one of the worst result i've seen. I can't believe how you can happy with that." Than, bam. I got suspended.
  13. Joe, Don't get me wrong this result is amazing but I want to ask something. Is it patient's choice or does Dr.Hasson always prefer high hairlines? In many cases of hasson&wong, the only thing that I don't like is the high hairlines. It seems like with 7k grafts , a patient can get 1-2 cm lower hairline. Please don't get me wrong ,I'm not trying to be offensive and I am a true fan of H&W work but this I needed to ask.
  14. Joe, Yes great answer, especially the one about twins. So I want to ask, what is the maximum number can this patient get? And also about density/laxity , which one is more essential , donor density or donor laxity?
  15. Bjk1903, I assume you are turkish right?
  16. I want to ask something, yes it is obvious that there is no problem in yield with megasessions. Are you as hasson and wong taking more grafts per session or are you taking more grafts overall? I mean if a person has 10k grafts in his donor bank, are you pushing this number up or just taking more in one session? Another question is london_lad had more than 7k grafts in one session.if he was your patient now ,would you be able to take more grafts or does it completely depend on the individual?
  17. I'd like to say a few words about this since I'm very interested in doing smp. I have been researching about this for 3 years now and 3 company stepped forward; HIS, GLI and Dr.Rassman. I went to London 7 months ago and see HIS procedure done to a technician named Damon who works in the London clinic. I must say it was a dissapointment. Color match was very good but the hairline is very very sharp and obvious that it is drawn, exactly what I don't like about HIS.Damon told me that he had the procedure couple of years ago and never got any touch up. When I ask about the hairline he agreed it is sharp but he said they were "evolving" their tecnique with new offices and techinicians so the hairlines were improving. But what I see didn't seem very attractive to me. About GLI, I mailed them about my concerns on the fading out, removal and the appereance, send them my pictures. All I got was a price quota and lots of mail saying that they're the best in business, their unique technique etc.. Very agressive sales approach I think. Yesterday I emailed to Dr.Rassmans clinic and I'm waiting for a reply. What I think? First, what I see in HIS was not impressive but I was exacty what I thought. While I was browsing their pics and videos, all I was saying was "damn what is wrong with those hairlines?" and got my answer. GLI's gallery still impresses me eventhough their agressive sales approach. Dr.Rassmans clinic seems they are drawing the best hairline but their work is not so great I believe. How best to approach this? 1-Never do it without any hair. No matter what they say, it will be obvious that it is a tattoo. And you know that there is a drawing on your head that never gets shorter or longer.it is a big risk. 2-it will fade out.check out rassmans blog. Eventhough I'm not very impressed with his smp work, he is more honest than any other companies and he is a well known hair transplant doctor. He says that it will fade out eventually. 3-if you do it on a completely bald scalp, make it less dense than your sides. I see in my daily life there are some diffuse thinners that thinning in nw5-6 but have their hairline so it will look like that. I'm sorry if I sabotage the topic but these are my opinions. Eventhough there are some cons about doing this, I still think it is a good option for higher nw levels and never get a great density with ht.I for example , I really don't want to lose the option to buzz my head no matter what. But I know I'm going to end up being nw 5-6. So these are my two cents.
  18. I'd like to put a different perspective, my conclusion (one might say "the flaw") about the hairtransplants. Most of us dont regocnise any hairloss until we loose %30-40 of it like mahhong said. After we do, most of the people start to have their haircuts shorter in order to "hide" the thinning effect. Shorter the haircut, vthe less obvious the thinning. But if you grow your hair longer , you start to try different styles to get the best non-thinning appereance but it will always look thinner than the sides. If you became nw5-6 completely bald, the best hair style is to buzz . Some might say " if you buzz it , why you need hair ?it is damn short" but many of us know that it is not true. A hairline frames and defines the face eventhough you buzz it. This is where you face the problem( at least my problem) ; with fut meaning more grafts than fue ,it is impossible because scar looks horrible.with fue , the no of grafts will never be enough. So what's left? To max out your donor with strip and hope for the best. Yes there are truly great results like london lad or nicnitro but those results depended on many factors like donor density, laxity etc.. You know them. Many of us are not perfect candidates. So at this point , ht becomes eliminated for guys like me who prefers shorter haircuts. Long story short, i think if your density between your sides and your top are different ( assuming top is less) ,short cut is the best. However you cant do that after a hair transplant because of the scar. I know that noone could get his teenage hairline but there must be more options for a hair loss sufferer.
  19. I guess I made myself clear with the title but.. I mean what should a guy do if he is nw5/6 (completely bald) and wants a buzz cut hair? I mean all of us know that hairline is essential and creates a great look even though if you cut your hair really short. Is ht is only for the guys that supports longer hairstyles or is there any way for guys with higher nw levels to achieve buzz cut look???
  20. Wow, I'm gone for 2 weeks and my thread got popular!! First, thank you everyone for your answers/thoughts, I really appreciate all of them. Now to clarify my thoughts ; Yes, I'm in a way get used to the buzz cut/bald look BUT I only get used to it because I can get the 5 o'clock shadow somehow and I really hate my sides. The buzz cut hides it quite well , that's why I like it. I leave my sides 1-2 clipper longer , but sometimes it looks really silly. Some people notice it and say "you forgot to shave your sides". I didn't!!! After 2-3 days , it does look at the same length and after one week-10 days , it looks like I have just peach fuzz at the sides and thinning hair on top. That's why I buzz it to lowest clipper. My greatest example for this type of case is Josep Guardiola, the head coach of Fc Barcelona. When he shaves his head , it looks like he has a full head of hair but after 1-2 weeks , his baldness is pretty obvious. When shaved ; Not shaved; My case is pretty much similar; When I shave, I does look like I have a hair but when it gets longer, I look like I'm 40. The thing is I don't know what I'm gonna do when I end up completely bald. In my opinion, the most obvious thing that seperates me from other hair loss sufferers on this site is , I can shave my head! That's why I don't want to lose this option. What many of you say "good result , complete change, 20 years younger" are generally "not good enough , never gonna wear my hair like this , why grow this thin hair" for me. I'm not saying those to be offensive, at the end of the day, I completely believe that the best result is the one that makes the person feels about themselves the best. I want a ht because I want to feel myself better. I think I'll feel better when I have a result like London_Lad or Bobman or Can't decide and on the other hand I'll feel my self better if I have a shaved head with a decent 5 o'clock shadow for the rest of my life. edit: Photos ;
  21. scar5, thank you for the reply! Yes, I have a lot of conflicts about fue vs fut. I showed my pics to Dr.Bisanga and he told me that I'm not a good fue candidate because of my age (26) and my nw level (5a-6 diffuse thinning). On the other hand , I'm really really scared about the fut scar! But I consulted with Joe from H&W and he told me that I have amazing donor laxity and I know he is one of the good guys in this industry and I trust his judgement. If I go with fut road , I'll go with Dr.Hasson or Dr. Rahal. I never thinked about any other doctor and I don't think I will. But as you said, the scar is really scary and I don't want it!! I buzz my head with lowest clipper (you can see my pictures from my other threads), and I don't hate it because I can get the 5 oclock shadow but I want to improve my hairline. Also I am a bit perfectionist so maybe even I get 10k grafts , it won't be enough for me . So SMP is something I really consider. Sometimes I think of only to get SMP but having only a tattoo on your whole head.... I mean what if someone finds out? It's more embarrasing than wearing wig because you can always get rid of it if someone makes fun of! Some days I feel like " I'm gonna live with this messed up head for the rest of my life" but some days I feel like " hey , look at bobman , jotronic ! They changed their life , so I can change it too!!" , I bet you know what I mean. I am very confused about what should I do !
  22. Hello everyone, I am planning on having a fut operation because I'm not a good FUE candidate but in some consultations they say that I have a great laxity so I'll probably go down with fut road. But for the last 2 years I've been buzzing my head and buzzing with a good hairline wouldn't be a problem for me. So, I'm planning to take my chances with fut , max out my grafts and if I'm not gonna happy with the result , I'll do smp with good look ink. Good Look Ink seems to be the best place to apply this to have a buzzed head not skin head. My question is , has anyone or anyone you know done this? I mean for the last 1-2 years a lot of us talking about SMP but I haven't seen anyone sharing their own experience in HTN. What do you guys think? Is it wise to do fut+ smp?
  23. Hey guys , I just wanted to ask that what is the best of the best result that you have ever seen in your research?? I'm asking this to everyone including the ones who had ht or planning to have a ht. I'm just curious what you guys think. There is no "depends on graft no/hair type" bla bla , just your no#1 result.
  24. thank you guys, I've never done scalp exercises in my whole life but i'll start in military to make it more loose. My biggest concern with FUT is scar, of course. I really don't want to lose the option to buzz my head because I think buzzing is the best way if you are a diffuse thinner. I know many men who do this and looks like they have a full head of hair. Also, if I'm gonna do this and after I'm done , I don't want to look into mirror and see a empty or thin crown without any donor left. London_lad is my top example of how I wanna restore my head.
