  1. SRK - It definitely depends on the area you need to cover. I think the crown is fairly easy to hide. If you are dense packed in the front, there is a good chance you'll have redness that lasts 6 weeks to a three to 4 months. If you're concerned I would definitely go to a doc that will let you keep your current hair long. I'm 3 months and its still pretty noticeable if you looked for more than a few seconds. I also had a lot of grafts placed in the frontal 1/3 and had to shave. Abe
  2. Actually, I may have had a little more head to cover than you.
  3. sjd, I had 3000 FUE into my front. I think I probably had a little less recession than you. But I think with light hair you could get away with 2000 grafts. Abe
  4. No sexual side effects here! Both seem to work fine.
  5. Mike, Who did your FUE and Strip? I'd love to see some pics. I had FUE recently and my donor looks fine now, although my hair is grown out. Dermatch would be the easiest to apply to the back of the head in my opinion. I've used Topik, couvre, and dermatch and I like dermatch the best. Abe
  6. BTW - it would be great if you would take pics and keep us posted of the results. Abe
  7. Markymark, I wouldn't worry too much unless you think that you have an infection. My donor area remained red for about 2 months. I also had some shockloss on the sides. Abe
  8. Atticus, My review of my experience with Umar can be seen in my original post that reviews my surgery day experience. I'm not going to go into further detail other than I have no issues with his customer service, I'm just trying to give others an idea of what to expect. Overall, I'm happy with my current results and I'm hoping for a great end result. Your use of the word 'heresay' is interesting. Someone else said that to me recently. Abe
  9. Leeson, I passed out from the meds and slept pretty much the entire day - which was very nice. Abe
  10. Atticus- I would like to see more updated pics from you if you have them. Also, Umar does run a one doc clinic but he needs to add a patient consultant in my opinion. I think he's a very nice guy and I think I'm going to get a good result, but sometimes it does take him a while to respond to email. Others - Umar doesn't share his technique and I'm actually ok with that (although I would have preferred to know). I know that everyone will not be ok with that and those that are not, should not go to Umar unless he decides to disclose his technique. And I know most of us who research anally (including myself) would prefer to know so I think regardless of what he uses, transparancy would be good for business. I feel that hiding his technique has contributed to many people believing that he is hiding results. My 2 cents - On a happier note, I feel encouraged by lots of recent sprouts. Abe
  11. Asian, I think you would be a fine candidate to thicken up your hairline. But I would suspect you may see future loss, based on some of the diffused thinning seen in the photos. If you wanted to you could probably do a big session at H&W or Rahal and get it taken care of in one session. If you aren't already, get on propecia and stay on it forever. Abe
  12. In my experience it was the 4th week were everything started falling out. It happened very quickly - over a period of a few days all my little babies had dissapeared.
  13. I don't think anybody knows the answer to this for sure. I think its up to the patients physiology and where the transplanted hair was in its growth cycle before being transplanted. Abe
  14. Jaber, Definitely ask your doc. If he wants it short he will probably shave it on the day of the procedure. Good luck and keep us posted. Do you not have any donor hair left b/c of previous surgeries? Abe
  15. I've read good things about it. I posted a study in a previous post under post-op laser comb that showed it could be beneficial to healing. My doc said I could use mine. Abe
  16. Typically anywhere between 3 and 6 weeks in my experience.
  17. Winston Baby, Please do not go to a hospital when you have a stroke, heart attack, get hit by a car, etc. Take no pain pills, take no anti-coagulants, and do not for one second allow modern medicine to heal you. You will be giving your hard earned money over to the evil drug companies that save people every day. By the way, the same people that make your Omega 3 oil are also in it to make a profit. If you do not like capitalism that is fine. But do not comment on other people's medical conditions. You remind me of the lady on the recent MTV True Life show that featured a holistic healer that told a poor kid he has fungus growing in his body that is killing his hair. She gladly took his money for her services. And I think your comments on Dr. Lindsey's thread about his daughter are out of place. Please let others decide on their own medical treatments. Cancer has never been shown to be cured by tumeric or any other food you eat. Abe
  18. Winston, I believe they have a pill for all that anger inside. The omega 3's dont' seem to be working. Abe
  19. Yon, Please post a pic so we can make an assessment. Before, immediately after and current pics would be ideal. Abe
  20. I've told a number of people that I work with. Its been too hard to disguise. I had a meeting with my team for work. We were outside in the parking lot and I had told my buddy that I work with about it a few days ago. He says, "Can I tell Matt (who is our boss) what you told me the other day?" I said, "Oh, yeah, Matt I got a hairtransplant!" My co-worker, "starts laughing and says, no not that, I was talking about that email you sent me." I said, "Oh so you're saying I didn't have to tell him?" Anyway, nobody has cared. Most of the guys with minor loss have asked lots of questions and have said that they will need one soon too. The girl at Starbucks keeps asking why I'm still wearing a hat (I told her it was because I got a bad haircut originally). Now its almost 3 months later and I am getting annoyed that she keeps asking. I don't want to tell everyone in Starbucks. Abe
  21. btw - thanks for the encouragement though! Waiting is not my specialty.
  22. ok, call me crazy, but aren't these sprouts? its tough to get great close-ups on these but I'm damn certain these puppies are growing! I guess it doesn't really matter much but I don't want to seem like the boy who cried wolf!!! Sprout baby!
  23. Dr. Wong prescribes Vitamin B? Is it a high dose? I havent' heard of benefits from vitamin b before.
