  1. Hey Guys, I don't think that there is going to be any more growth. I haven't noticed much in a while. But I do think thickening and proper styling products make a huge difference. I've been pretty diligent about showing my gaps so people get a good idea of a critical view. However, most people are not inspecting my head in my day to day life. I'll take some pics without the harsh light and with my hair styled and I think you'll understand why its hard to be dissapointed. Like I said its hard to put a percentage on my growth (I didnt expect 100% with FUE) but overall I'm satisfied and if you saw me in person you might suspect that I'm thinning but you wouldnt suspect I had a hair transplant. Abe
  2. Guys - Its important to note that under most lighting my hair looks great. So, during my everyday life, they are not easy to spot. These are under harsh flash. I'm also sure that many can relate to having good hair days and bad hair days even after your HT. When I took these my hair had been kinda thin, scalp itchy. Its gotten better over the last two or three weeks and I'm very happy again. So, although I don't think I have 100% growth, I'm happy with the growth overall and I feel that my hair is getting denser as well. I'm due for an update next week.
  3. He hasn't yet. But he made it sound like I could come in any time. He said in his email it wouldn't require shaving, just a couple of hours. I don't think I'm going to want to do it, or have time to get to CA for another few months, so i did send him an email asking if i could do it in a few months.
  4. Trans - I prob will. I think there is still some thickening to come, but I'm glad he's very willing to help if i feel that i need it. Abe
  5. Hey Guys, Sorry for skipping last month. It does get harder and harder to take the pics and post each month especially when not a lot has changed. Not much has changed. I think there has been some overall thickening. I have some gaps on the right side still. Overall the difference is amazing and I'm happy. But to be fair, its not perfect. The right sided gaps probably will not fill in. They aren't noticeable for the most part, but all of these pictures were taken with a flash. Overall happy - Umar has promised me, he'd fill in any gaps that don't grow in for free. I may take him up on that one day, but for now I'm happy.
  6. JB - I'll be posting again soon. Took a month off - been busy. I'll see if I can get the wife to take some pics tomorrow night.
  7. He did do a great job on the hairline. Its pretty much impossible to tell that I've had anything done.
  8. Thanks Acrobaz - I've been watching your case as well. Looks like you've been making steady progress. Sparky - I didn't think think you meant anything by it. Abe
  9. I'd say definite cosmetic improvement - If this side doesn't fill in I wouldn't call it exceptional. Its still early and I will continue to update.
  10. Sparky - I actually like the hairline - it isn't quite symmetrical but it wasn't totally symmetrical when I had one. Vince - Hairline isn't red at all - maybe just a tad on the right side. Markymark - Donor hair looks good. I'll take some pics next week at my 7 month mark. The right side of the donor area was thin but it seems to be filling in. Thanks Petschki.
  11. Hey Guys, I added some better pics of the hairline and the right side, so you can see what I mean when I say its a little bit thinner. And hopefully see why I'm happy with the hairline. hdude - not everyone who loses their frontal 3rd loses everything. I have no loss on the crown at all and I've been on propecia for years. My loss has been stabilized and i feel confident I won't lose much more. But sure, its a risk.
  12. Than - I'm styling my hair pretty much how I want it. The new hair sticks up a little bit. But I like the hair styled back with gel (which is how I'm wearing it). The density on the left is amazing. I can't tell any difference between my ht hair and my old hair. The hair on the right behind the hairline is still a little thin, but I am noticing new hairs, which I didn't see last month. I feel like things are moving along nicely. I still have a day or two where I wonder if its still growing, but that was mainly last month. I've been feeling pretty good over the last few weeks - so good that I havne't been on the board as much as I could be. I'd still like some thickening and a little more growth on the right but overall I'm very pleased with the cosmetic improvement. Abe
  13. Attached are my updated photos for 6 months. I cut my hair pretty short. Shorter than I've had it in a long time! And I love it. Things have slowly but surely gotten better. Small thin hairs are appearing in the front - i think these are the nape hairs. My right side is still a little thin but I can see it starting to fill in some more. Most of these photos are outside when its overcast. Hair looks good in these conditions. One photo is in harsh light and I didn't wash my hair that day, which tends to make it look worse. its my right temple that looks think. It looks bad but I wanted to include it so you had a fair view of everything. The right side, above the ear, is still thin and I hope this will eventually fill in. But frankly, I'm very very happy with where I'm at.
  14. Hj, Looking good. Big improvement already. I'm at my 6 month mark and I'll try and take pics tonight or tomorrow and post. I'm very happy so far. Abe
  15. 12 more days and I'll take month 6 pics. I'm not sure a lot has changed since month 5, but I won't really know until I take the photos.
  16. Depends on how densely your grafts were placed and your skin tone. I'd say 2 months to 6 months. Good luck. Abe
  17. I have to admit, I thought the same thing, but it looks like he took way too much above the occipital notch - which umar didn't get close to on me.
  18. TC and PD - He charges 7 per graft and then gives you 1 per graft back if you take pictures every month for 12 months and send them to him. The procedure took 2 days. He did about 1800 the first day and 1200 the second. I was out for most of the procedure so it went by quick but they were 12 hour days. Abe Abe
  19. Thanks for the comments guys. GQ - I hope I am only at 40%. If that's the case then I think I'll have a remarkable result. Lately, I've been feeling like growth has slowed down. Hopefully new growths come in soon. Abe
  20. Austin is fairly close to Alabama! Drive your porsche down and I'll meet you half way. Don't forget your pink slip.
  21. I've had 2 kids on it and read a ton before we had them and I stayed on it the entire time. No problems. If there was a real problem Merck would need to post major warnings on their label.
  22. Leeson, I'll trade you my view for your porsche! Lookin good. Abe
  23. Leeson, Good question. And I have to say, I really can't feel any difference b/w the nape hairs and regular hairs. There are definitely some thinner hairs, but I think I'll have to wait until 12 months to see if I can tell the difference. Vincehair - Yes it would have been obvious that I had work done. However, most people use some sort of cover-up if they can't get away with a hat. The first couple of months are hard - you look like crap and you question whether you did the rigth thing. But when it starts to grow and everyday is better than the last, its worth it. Abe
  24. I feel that there is some evidence that shows it could speed healing. I don't think it would do anything as far as growth. I posted a link a while back showing a study regarding lasers after ht. Abe
  25. Month 5 is here! I think things have slowed down as far as growth (or maybe its just difficult to tell). These photos are outside in bright sunlight right after a shower. I tried to expose all areas that I feel haven't come in as strong as the hairline (primarily the area behind my right temple). I know, patience is still key. At this point I would guess maybe 60% of the grafts have grown in? What do you think? When I style my hair I can say that I feel very confident. From a cosmetic standpoint things are a success (it definitely looks like I have a nice hairline with maybe a little thinning). From a success standpoint I still want to see more growth. Abe
