  1. For me, Regaine (or Rogaine) Foam is not a great inconvenience. I apply it once a day, 15 mins before bed. It takes less than 2 minutes. On a weekend I try to apply it morning and night.
  2. goldpharma It's not cheap but it is (in my experience) 100% legit
  3. Bobby, Please please please don't jump in and go with this Dr Markou. It's a recipe for disaster. I mean, when you go to the first car showroom and the salesman says: "I guarrantee this car won't breakdown. Trust me", you wouldnt put down a $5,000 deposit there and then would you? You would go to some other places, take a test drive, buy some Auto Magazines and do a fair amount of research before buying. The vast majority of clinics don't use this laser treatment and do you know why?..because it doesnt work! All it will give you is a lighter wallet. Most people only have about 8000 grafts of donor hair and the last thing you want is someone blowing 50% in a bad operation with poor results. You cant get those grafts back! Selecting a Quality Hair Transplant Surgeon
  4. Photos would definately help. Are you looking to have a Strip method or FUE transplant? These docs probably took a tape measure and did a few rough approximations which may partly explain the differences in what they are saying.
  5. Dutasteride or brand name 'Avodart'. In short, it is another drug used to treat the prostate but is also thought to be more effective than finasteride in preventing MPW. Personally I wouldn't touch the stuff unless it was approved for hairloss treatment.
  6. I've come across Dr Diep before and the good thing is he is being quite open about his results which is a good sign. Never heard of Dr Gorrin before. Try the search function on this forum to find out more.
  7. Check out a UK TV presenter called Declan Donnelly. He has most definately been taking Propecia with great results Britain's Got Talent host Declan Donnelly's hair makes a comeback - The Daily Record
  8. Hi Bobby, I commend you for making these videos. Great stuff. Just a few comments about your consultation. The problem a lot of people have on this board is that laser treatment is not a proven method for reversing hairloss which is why you won't find many supporters of it. I'm a bit surprised this 'Dr' said you should have a transplant on your crown. I would expect any eithical HT surgeon or representative to discuss non-surgical options such as Minoxidil and Finasteride. Your hair loss pattern looks like it could really benefit from these treatments. The fact that this guy has been in business for over 10 years doesnt necessarily mean he is any good. There are plenty of people who have taken HTs without doing proper research or are embarrassed with the mistakes they have made. Whether we like it or not there is still something of a stigma in the industry. Unfortunately there are too many unethical practices who are just looking to make a fast buck out of people who haven't done their research.
  9. 50 grafts per cm will look very dense. Don't forget that each graft has an average of 2 hairs so what you will get is about 100 hairs per sq cm. I think if you were to attempt a greater density there would be a risk of a poorer yield.
  10. I think it is sometimes forgotten that sex drive drops in normally healthy men, even those not taking any kind of medication. This certainly happened to me in my early 30s. Definately do some research on that before attributing anything to the medication you have taken. Personally I don't believe Minoxidil alone would make a blind bit of difference.
  11. Sorry to hear that. They sound like a right bunch of criminals. You could go and say "look if you give me the refund in cash now I'll sign this agreement", or just go to the small claims court, BBC Watchdog programme etc. I wouldnt let it rest.
  12. ...and while we're on the subject of dubious clinics in Florida, he should beware of 'Dr' Larry Shapiro. Don't be tempted by his $1 per graft 'specials'!
  13. Your hairline still looks pretty strong so for me it is not a question of how many grafts but which meds! If I were you I would try Regaine Foam, Nizoral Shampoo and Propecia (if you are comfortable with the very small risk of side effects). See how you feel after 12 months. You can also save more money for the transplant! I sometimes envy people who have lost experienced a lot of hairloss. It makes the decision of whether to have a HT or not a bit more clear cut, unlike cases where you are midway through and don't know how much more loss will occur!
  14. Hi Aj29, Is the reason Bisanga left your hair long during the op to aid the 'design process'? How much time did you take off work and has anyone noticed you had a HT? I think your result will be great as you chose well.
  15. Don't consider a UK clinic unless it is Farjo! ..and if you are coming to Europe then Belgium is a good place to try
  16. Quite right. I saw an interview with one doc (can't remember who) who said that not everyone retains donor, but for the vast majority (high 90 percents) it is there for life.
  17. Hello mate, a few observations: - Your hair appears to have receeded in a MPB manner. I'm not an expert but stress related hairloss that I've seen is often 'patchy'. - Even if your brothers have good hair it doesnt mean your immune. My brother is older than me and NW1! - You are young so the chances are you will lose more hair. - IMO Propecia is definately worth a try. Men can become impotent with or without taking it. The chances are that these people are just grabbing at straws. - Best to book some consultations with a few coalition doctors. Good luck
  18. I think he's right to be conservative, I mean even if you have 8000 lifetime supply of grafts it's best not to use a big proportion of them in one go. You never know, you may need to go back in 10-15 years due to further loss behind the transplant.
  19. From my (limited) knowlegde I think you could get 2500-3500 in a single strip session.
  20. Anyone know if Costco in the UK stock it?
  21. I saw those pictures on the news yesterday. Not great.
  22. A Rogaine/Propecia combo result: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/163246-my-hairloss-story-%2A6-years-pictures%2A.html#post2281319
  23. Ketoconazole shampoo: effect of long-term use in androgenic alopecia.
  24. The cheapest I've seen from a Dr of any known pedigree is Dr De Reys (not recommended by the coalition). He does FUE and 2500 grafts would be about ?5000 including travel. I dont think ?3000 is going to go far enough. How can you be sure that the technicians trimming the grafts are adequately trained and do the job full time? The last thing you want is a poor yield and a strip scar at the back of your head (especially as you have the buzzed look).
