  7. Mate. Listen to Chrisdav. I almost got a ht with a similar uk clinic. Forget the fact you will be out of pocket. You will most likely end up looking a lot worse than bald with a massive scar and many of your precious grafts used up. You will need a repair job by a proper ht doc meaning you will have spent twice as much and used twice as many grafts. Sorry if I sound full on but want to make sure you don't make the mistake I almost did. Ht is a very very specialised procedure and there are very few doctors who can do it properly. You need to find a doc who can demonstrate lots and lots of consistent great results. If not then run a mile. Give spex an email or a message on here. He is a consultant for one of the top docs but ultimately will give you lots of impartial info. Lastly. You will hear this lots but do not let cost and location be the deciding factors on which doc you use. No hair transplant is a lot better than a bad hair transplant.
  8. This is not aimed at you specifically Sphex as luckily you have a great local doc But I do not undertand the mindset of someone who thinks “I’m willing to spend up to 10K” “I’m willing to spend 4 – 8 months with a huge shaven bald patch on my head” “I’m willing to give up exercise, drinking and pretty much socialising for a month or two” “I’m willing to put myself through emotional turmoil” “I’m willing to risk having a no guarantee operation that if goes wrong can leave me scarred, depleted of precious grafts and looking 1000x worse than if I was bald” “I’m willing to take at least 2 weeks of my precious holiday from work” To potentially be able to cosmetically improve the look of my hair (This is fine and understandable) However “I am definitely not willing to spend an extra couple of hundred dollars and a few hours on a flight to at least guarantee myself the best possible chance of success” I can only imagine that someone who says this does not fully understand the implications of what they are getting into. Good luck with the surgery if you decide to go ahead though mate.
  9. Patience is no problem for me Spex. The combover covers the ht to the point where I don't even think about it through the day. I forget all about it except when I get out of the shower. However, after a close inspection last night I am about 90% sure that the very front of my hairline is ever so slightly thicker than pre ht. My girlfriend said she would definitely agree too. I think the doc may just have sprinkled some of that magic, early growth dust on my head. Haha. My 2 month update pics on Friday should tell me whether I'm being overly optimistic or not. Either way. I'm in no huge rush : ) Cheers mate
  10. Hello Guys. I'll be posting my 2 month updates this friday but in the meantime I have a quick question. Do all of the hairs on your head grow at approximately the same rate? The reason I ask is because currently I am 8 weeks post op so all of my native hair growing back is now about 1 inch long. Tonight I looked at my head and in my hairline I can see just a few tiny hairs which are like 1mm long if that. Are these possibly native hairs which just regrew very slowly or possibly some early growers from the new transplanted grafts? Any advice appreciated. Cheers.
  11. Welcome to the board George Clooney : ) I am 8 weeks post op with DR Feller today and I definitely echo your sentiment on him and spex. A first class bunch who above all put the patients best interest first. Do you have any before and after pics? I'd be interested to see your results mate.
  12. The 5 monthers are looking sweet. The difference from 3 to 5 is massive. It looks like you are gonna have one of those stand out mega results. Lucky dude.
  13. It's so great to see someone speaking so positive who was once probably very down about their hair. It shows how positive ht surgery can be. I really enjoyed your post. It also reminded me of rocky and appolo sparing. Haha. I had my first ht with dr feller in jan. now in the shed faze but can't wait till the good stuff starts in another couple months. Congrats on your first success and good luck for march.
  14. He is one of the top ht surgeons in the world mate. Good luck. Hopefully this works out for you. You will be in great hands.
  15. Dude. I do not say this to be holier than though, or bigger, or cleverer. I say it simply for your own good. You obviously have not researched HT’s even 5% as much as you need to. You need to spend every free minute looking at results, learning about *procedures and comparing doctors. * For one, if it was a toss up between getting fut from a great surgeon with a scar, or poor fue from a cheap surgeon, it isn’t even a close call. The high quality out ways the scar 1000000x over. Having natural looking hair in the recipient area, especially if it’s the hair line is the single most important thing in the whole HT. Having a bad ht to save money will cost you a lot more down the line fixing it eventually with a good HT. Seriously man. This can ruin peoples lives. * Here is a little story concerning the scar. I had my stip surgery with DR. Feller on 16th Jan. One of my big concerns was the scar as I shave the sides of my head to a 2 guard. However I have really thick hair in my donor region and meeting Spex he said that he thought I’d be fine with the scar. I decided to stick with strip for higher yield and as it is more economical. 2.5 weeks after the surgery on 1st Feb I had the sides of my hair shaved down to a 4 and told the barber that I had a bike accident so I had a big scar. He was really careful and worked around it, however there was a lack of hair growing as expected. 3 weeks after then (Under 6 weeks after the HT) last Friday I went back to get it shaved down again. The barber looked at my head and couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t even find the scar. It took him like 5 minutes. Afterwards he was amazed and said he had never seen anything like it as there was hair growing out of the scar it’s self (Obviously the tricho closure). He said that my doctor must have done an amazing job as he had never seen a scar heal so well and thin on a head. He then shaved my hair down to a grade 3 into a grade 4 and you can see no sign at all (Bear in mind that this is under 6 weeks post op). Finally he asked if he could take a picture as he was amazed that hair could grow out of a scar, and took a picture on his I Phone. Funnily I was on the bus on Saturday night going for a night out when I bumped into him. He was still talking about how amazing it was and even got his phone out to show me the picture again, much to my embarrassment. Haha. * Anyway, I am not saying don’t get FUE and I am definitely not saying that a scar will be no problem at all for anyone. As mentioned, I have a very thick donor region to cover it and have suffered no shock loss in the area so I’ve been lucky. I am just saying that high quality fut over low quality fue for the same price, I would take the fut every time. Alternatively, save up more and get the good doctor to do the FUE at the inflated price. Ultimately I am saying do a lot more research before you do anything.
  16. Listen to this guy and speak to spex. He is a uk consultant for Dr. Feller but will give you completely trustworthy impartial advice. He is also a long time ht veteran and more knowledgable than any actual doctor I have met in the uk. Personally my top list would be Dr. Feller, Dr. Rahal, Shapiro Medical Group or Hasson & Wong. I wouldn't venture out of these Dr's personally. That's not to say there are not other good docs but I have seen consistant great results from all of these. Finally. Do not get a HT in the Uk or Ireland. Seriously. Go to the US, Canada or at least Belgium.
  17. Hello mate. Sorry to hear about the leg. I had strip with Dr Feller on jan 16th and travelled back the next day fine. As you say it's a good option as there is no swelling yet. Of course you feel all vulnerable n stuff but you do for the full first week anyway. Dr. Feller fave me a plain black bassball cap and as there wasn't swelling nobody would have known there was anything wrong with me. The journey was fine too. Good luck.
  18. Immense. wow. That is a great 9 month result.
  19. These are with the same camera I used for the pre op, post op and 2 week photos with the flash on.
