  1. Jose Lorenzo does everything, including implanting. All his techs do are organize & prepare the grafts for him. I think considering how much these procedures cost the doctor should do as much as possible. Some of them just appear in their suit in the middle of the day to punch holes in your head ('create recipient sites' as they say) and disappear again until the whole thing is over... this after paying them $20,000 or more. The hospital comparison is silly and a lame attempt to protect this shameful industry. Sure, a heart surgeon has help, but his hands are doing the real work.
  2. The grafts can shock loss the weaker hairs that are miniaturizing as was said, but also 3,000 is over-aggressive in my opinion and more has to do with the doctor making more money than what you need. Some docs just want to give you as much grafts as they can and may intentionally or ignorantly kill or transect the native follicles in the area. Then those hairs won't grow back.
  3. Not true. Less trauma, quicker surgery time, less time with grafts out of the body all with the implanter. Much easier on the patient.
  4. I don't think you have enough loss to warrant a ht. 3,000 grafts in the front could kill the hairs you already have and then you'll look like before but with a strip scar.
  5. Is this a damn joke? You have no hairloss. None. Zero. You have the hair density of a prepubescent boy. And yes, you're concerns for strip/FUT are valid, but you shouldn't be concerning yourself at all with hair transplants. I'm tempted to say other things but the moderators would instantly delete them anyway.
  6. Probably not. I have similar scarring but you can barely see anything at a 1 guard. Scars are not visible at all at 1.5 guard. Most likely the same applies for that guy.
  7. " I'm just going to have to accept the fact that ill never have a decent head of hair again. " Jeez man. When I'm done with my procedures I still won't have what you got right now. Enjoy it while you got it and be happy you still have so much hair in your 30s. I think your donor is naturally thinning from mpb. It does happen there too. Too much FUE will make it look even thinner but that's maybe your only surgical option.
  8. It looks thin because they took hair out of there permanently. It doesn't look bad though and no one will notice so don't worry about it.
  9. Also JohnnyDrama, It's not very cool for surgeons to practice and increase their skill set on you when you are paying them tens of thousands of dollars. This is the shady nature of the HT industry, and it's not likely to change.
  10. I'm sure the procedure has gotten better recently, but I still hear firsthand about guys getting bad results from as recent as this past year and from well respected docs. I'm certain that some guys just are not going to get good growth because of the nature of the procedure. I'm not a doc or scientist so I can't explain why, but I guess you can say some people have follicles that are overly sensitive to the extractions and they don't survive.
  11. FUE is unpredictable. It grows well in some, while yield can be poor in others no matter what doctor is doing it. Spare me the nonsense about the European doctors being elite. Do you guys realize Bisanga and Mwamba were trained by C*le and performed FUE in Georgia, USA for several years? All the HT docs know each other and are connected in some way. Rahal was trained by Armani who himself "learned" FUE simply by having a 30 minute phone conversation with Feller. I have great empathy for the many FUE patients who have blown a lot of money for very unspectacular results. Most of these guys never post on the forums unfortunately. The posting is left to the so-called FUE experts that have never had any FUE done themselves and a happy patient here and there.
  12. Well, I'm still waiting for my FIT grafts to grow. Been like 8 years now.
  13. Both Mwamba & Bisanga worked on me in separate surgeries as trainees under the great FUE doc of Georgia, USA.. I had poor growth and donor scars, but don't listen to me. I'm just a very experienced FUE patient. Everyone else will tell you how great they are.
  14. You're not "aware" of a single FUT case of over 5,125 grafts? Really? Did you just join the HT business? Were you doing microdermabrasion or acupuncture previously? I've had less than 50% removed from my donor via FUE and it looks quite thin when cut short. Let's focus less on the donor for a moment though, so please show us some of your results (as in recipient hair growth).
  15. You sound like me when I got my first FUE. Your hair was very similar to mine. I also thought a 1200 FUE procedure in my hairline would set me right. I predict you will be miserable 8 months post op and will wish you would have never had anything done. Think twice. Don't believe the hype.
  16. My point is "ISHRS" shouldn't impress anyone. The entire HT industry is a circus (and I mean industry -- not medical field, in case anyone thinks it is).
  17. I think you need to get a scar revision and get some grafts moved while your at it. Dr. Hasson is your best option in my opinion. If you insist on BHT, get a test done. There have been guys over the years who have spent over $100,000 on BHT and had very little growth.
  18. Don't you feel that way because they pay you money to be featured on this network? Not that I have a problem with you guys making a living but let's not kid ourselves. Most HT docs are sadly mediocre, even the ones featured here... and yes even unethical & greedy.
  19. Atticus, Of course most clinics are going to tell you there is no need for testing because yield in their masterful hands is the same whether FUE or Strip. If it's true that yield could be less with FUE why would the clinic admit it and risk losing business? The best thing to do to protect your money and your donor is get a small test done of a couple hundred grafts even if you have to pay for the test. By the way "Chairman of the ISHRS FUE research committee" sounds like a big friggin' deal, man. Maybe you should listen to whatever he says.
  20. Your case reminds me much of mine, when I went and got my first FUE nine years ago. I had very little hairloss, mostly a recessed hairline and I thought I'd get a little FUE work done and all would be good. The meds are holding everything down....except they were not. Eventually it all went and I'm now left with essentially 'horns' as they say - as I had been warned by a very conservative strip HT doc who I dismissed as being behind the times (and he is a bit). What I see today, just about every FUE case is like this. A young guy getting the quick FUE fix, taking care of that recessed hairline. I suspect because of FUE more and more guys are getting HTs. And that's fine, but guys should remember when the inevitable happens, you're going to need a lot more grafts to cover ground, to look normal and there's only so much FUE that can be removed without the donor looking thin. As long as guys are ready for an uphill battle in the years ahead, then it's ok. But when these kind of threads keep popping up with comments like 'great hairline design,' and this 'doc is a genius' etc, and I imagine young lurkers reading this thinking they have found the cure, it irritates me a bit.
  21. It's quite possible they split your grafts and lied to you. Most clinics in this industry are shady. Happened to me.
  22. Don't do a thing. You should be concerned with saving all your donor for when the rest goes instead of seeking temporary perfection. Your hair looks good. I agree competely with your observations on modern society, by the way.
  23. plyo77, You can get a new hairline and be happy for a few years but the reality is you are going to lose more hair and will need more work. Be sure you are ready to make that commitment.
  24. nikhairht, just understand once you do it, you are in it for life. 3,000-4,000 will take care of you for now, but when the rest of your hair goes, especially that nice mass of hair you have in the middle, you are going to need another 3,000 and up.
