  1. I don't think it's a matter of the doctors being 'opposed' to FUE. I went with Arocha for a FUT, but also found out that he does indeed do FUE as well. That being said, I could tell his opinion was that he prefers FUT, probably for the reasons you mentioned regarding yield and what not. A top doc is going leave you with a FUT scar that going to be hard to find assuming you're a decent healer. Check out my website and you can see what mine looks like at a month out on a three guard. With your level of hairloss, and you being as young as you are and not knowing your final hairloss pattern at this point, I'd probably stick with FUE if you're wanting to have it done now.
  2. Hey freakin, glad you could join us in the discussion. When I went for my HT, I was really calm, but was confident in what I was doing at that point because I had done a lot of research. Some aren't so maybe it does make sense to have them signed before the actual day of the procedure. I'm not going to name names, but I've heard of a case where a patient stated he was given valium BEFORE signing the consent forms. Recommended doc on here by the way. And yeah I agree, I read every word on those pieces of paper before signing them
  3. Did he use Acell in the sheet or powder format? Also, did he use any of it on the grafts or just the donor? Acell fascinates me, seems like ground breaking stuff and it's too bad more physicians aren't using it. Cooley is the man! We need more pics of the donor bro come on don't tease us
  4. Thanks aaron, guess that makes sense. Why not take the time and seperate them and make two incisions close to each other instead of dumping them into one? Would really like a more detailed explanation from the doctor if he has the time, I've never heard of this and would like more information on it.
  5. Welcome Reece! Your hairline looks solid to me. The residual loss towards the back could be covered up with Topikk, have you tried it? If you got to roll with a two guard, then yeah fue may be your best choice. This forum has a huge slant towards FUT, but if you're wanting FUE + Acell your best bet will be to go to Dr C_ole out of Georgia. Good luck and keep us updated!
  6. Hear ya aaron! The docs/reps do this for a living though. Big difference, they knew what they were doing.
  7. stamos, it sounds like you have hair now - congrats!!!! Go buy a brush
  8. tom, sorry buddy but it looks like you got taken. I'd roll into the doctors office as soon as possible and see if you can get things straightened out. Try and get your money back though, don't negotiate on another surgery.
  9. RC, no offense but I'd really like to hear from the doctor on this. I see no reason to double up anything, another slit could have been made for the additional hairs to keep them in their natural grouping. Hopefully the doctor comes back to clarify.
  10. Great write up! Congrats on the procedure. Cooley was on my top three list and I wouldn't hesitate to use him in the future, the man is on the cuttting edge! Grow and heal well!
  11. Wow! This might be the best result I've ever seen posted. Phenominal temporal work which makes it look so natural too!
  12. London, you were only one of the people that this happened to which is why I started the topic. Did you know this when you signed it? I'm surprised that his is combined, I wouldn't have signed it in that case.
  13. Exactly one month out now. After seeing Bonker's short hair on the sides and back at a 5 guard, I decided to get even braver and hit my sides and back with a 3 guard. Knew I had a bit of shockloss where the sutures were tied off on the right side, but wanted to wait a month before cutting my hair short since that is the crucial shock loss period. I grew my hair out quite a bit longer than I'd normall keep it to help hide the procedure, but prefer a more cropped hairstyle. Luckily the shockloss isn't as bad as I thought. The grafts are basically all gone also. You can also see the slight pinkish tone where the temporal points and hairline were planted. I've updated my website (linked in my signature) with some 1 month pics.
  14. Are these mini plugs? When I see "FU" or "FUT" I interpret this to be follicular unit, but it doesn't sound like that's what is going on here. What am I missing?
  15. hairthere, I understand natural groupings and the basic concepts regarding this subject. I had over 8100 hairs in 3626 grafts myself, and even one of the technicians made a comment that the donor was a lot better than what they typically see. That's around a 2.3 hairs per graft average. I'm not buying into that this guy's natural follicular units are averaging almost four hairs per graft. Also went and looked at some of Dr Keller's other patient samples and they have very similar breakdowns. Maybe I'm wrong here.... hope he returns and confirms one way or the other. If these aren't their natural groupings I'm not saying this is wrong by any means, but not what we typically see.
  16. London, not sure if you stated this earlier, but why didn't you have more grafts dropped in during this last procedure? Was it a donor issue, or monetary constraints?
  17. So now we have doctors asking forum members to start individual threads to help them defend their approaches. Jeeze..... I take it this thread was started because of LondonHT and his debacle? Let's go with that. His result, whether or not they did indeed have a conversation that he would be back for a subsequent procedure, simply did not look good or natural to me. It's understandable if a person has to have a second hair transplant because of further hair loss, or they would like to increase density to the hairline, but his result looked flat out bad and that hairline location should not have been dropped in with out more grafts. It was completely see through! Poor planning in my opinion. Even if the patient is insisting on a low hairline, I believe the doctor should protect them in these cases since they are the experts!
  18. I've yet to see a breakdown quite like this, were these his natural follicular groupings? If not, can you describe in more detail what constitutes a multi-hair graft?
  19. David, good points! You do an awesome job around here by the way. What bothers me in the cases where they were posted, was that the patient was unhappy about there results. The doctor/rep comes in after the fact debating them and these pictures show up. Seemed like an intimidation move in all three cases from my perspective. It rattled the ex-patient in all three instances so I guess it worked.
  20. I had asked this in another thread but the question wasn't answered and the thread ended getting locked. I think this deserves a thread of it's own anyways as I have witnessed this occuring multiple times since I've been a member of this forum, in instances where the patient was questioning his results, and the doctor (or their 'representative') dropped in photos with their identities fully exposed while 'debating' them. Subsequently, the patients were distraught by this exposure each time it occurred, and rightfully so. There is a lot of information out on the web this topic. Like I suspected, it does look like these were illegal acts unless the typical waiver was signed by the patient. What I didn't know however, was that this patient doctor agreement is also a constitutional right. Are there any lawyers that are a part of this forum? I would like confirmation about what I'm interpreting here, and also am curious if these victims have legal recourse against the doctors if and when this happens? And by the way, my intent here is to not cause controversy, but rather to help prevent this from occuring going forward. Thank you in advance. 21. Bill, if this is truly the case - how is spex still a part of this community? Not only is he here promoting Dr Feller (and unfortunately, being forced to defend him in some cases), but he's also here promoting his book. If you're insisting that you are simply enforcing the TOS, then why is spex still a part of this community? And don't even get me started on the doctors (which also includes the one thats responsibile for this thread) and their reps posting up pics of their unhappy patients while debating them publicly without hiding their identity in doing so.... Bill, I'm sure that you probably know the answer to this....if they haven't signed the form allowing these doctors to publicly display their identity, were these actions even legal? If not, are engaging in illegal activities on this forum also a violation of the terms of service? All I see are repeated warnings and excuses given for these doctors when this has happened. Why not a stern warning like corv got, then a subsequent banning?
