  1. Thanks for chiming in Corv - as well as providing a link to your two month update! Hopefully the left side catches up with the right down the road. It's so early in the process that I'm definitely not worried at this point.
  2. Doesn't look like he's recommended here. You can check the recommended docs by selecting the drop boxes in the upper right hand portion of this page where is states "Find a Great Surgeon in Your Area". That doesn't mean that he isn't an excellent surgeon though, the doctors must pay a fee to be recommended here. From what I've seen in pictures his work looks good. Go explore his results over at the Bald Truth Forum, from what I remember he has quite a few results posted up over there. Good luck!
  3. Looks like this is a hot topic! Just checked Aman's 6.5 month update (his latest), and beside the fact that it does indeed look like he behind schedule - the following quote from Aman is really disturbing: "This is my growth after 6.5 months.I spoke to Dr Hasson about my slow growth & he said that between 6 to 8 months you see the main difference. He has advised me to double the dosage of Proscar to 2.5 mg per day and has told me to shampoo my hair on daily basis." To help expedite the patient's transplant growth, the doctor is advising him to go 2.5x the dosage recommended for hairloss? Outside of the fact that transplanted hair isn’t typically affected by DHT, so this so trying to suppress more of this hormone to promote transplanted hair is futile… sounds like Aman is maybe being mislead that it’s his fault for his sub par results. This stuff shouldn’t be played around with, and instead of taking responsibility and supporting the patient, advising him to double up on a medication created to alter a person’s hormones is irresponsible. Hopefully someone comes into the thread and clarifies what is going on here, hopefully Aman mis-understood the conversation with the doc.
  4. Figured I'd toss out an update since Dr Arocha called me yesterday. His head assistant Craig was coming up to Austin today and he wanted us to hook up so he could check my progress with everything. Unfortunately I'm out of state this week on business so I couldn't meet up with him. Never the less, thought it was great of him to call and try to get that coordinated..... Talked with the doc a good 10-15 mins.... I'm a little over 2.5 months and the hair is beginning to grow in. Right side coming in a litte more faster/thicker than the left at this point. No pics in the update at this time... I'll post some up at the four month mark. Also, for those that are intersted... Remember seeing a post a few weeks ago regarding which docs were using Acell. Asked him if he was utilizing it and he said that he did indeed use it sometimes depending on the case.
  5. Did he recommend 1500, or did you approach the doc with a budget? Sounds like you are laying blame, but if you went in under financial constraints then why does he need to 'make good' on anything without you bringing your part to the table? If he recommended 1500, then you need to come forth with the doc's name, because you needed 3k+, a thousand or so which need to be used to rebuild your temporal and side recessions. The board deserves to know if a certain doc is over promising, hope you clarify what was discussed pre-op.
  6. How did each consultation go? Panine has had a few patients post here and they seemed really thrilled with the results. Have you talked to Dr Konior?
  7. Hey Josh, I hear ya..... The sales type of a approach is likely to run me off fast as well. And yeah... these docs differ radically when it comes to how aggressive/conservative they approach HT's. I went with a doc that tends to go for more FUT's, but my level of MPB is fairly high. Not sure where you live, but after reading what you're looking for.... I think you should call Dr Konior - he is Chicago. Two of the docs you mentioned are little more conservative too (True/Dorin). Definitely sounds like you are the right track.
  8. Joey, your hair is wet in these pics. Take some pictures with your hair dry and post them.
  9. Agree with Aaron on the wet hair pics, although for the viewers I guess we can see the hair at it's most revealing. Personally, I liked how you styled your hair in the 7 month pics (the first few off of the link) without any of the hair gel, it looks really solid in those pics..... Either way, sounds like your are happy - congrats!
  10. Good luck with your new HT! Just curious, did you do consults with Panine and Konior who are also in that area? If so, what did you think of them?
  11. At only 22 years old you shouldn't be in any hurry to have a hair transplant. What is your family history of MPB?
