  1. I second a dermatcj / nanogen fibre combo, It can be a ahssle to style every day whilst going throughthe transition process, I can't stress this enough if you shower with a good quality hair thickening shampoo, it really does have a similar effect to the nanogen fibres the illusion of wider theicker hair shafts, so think about it, the shampoo adds good thickness then you add the fibres and they bicl up even more. I can't beleive the redution on the amouynt of fibres i have to use if I wash the hair with : thicker fuller hair shampoo by shwarztkopf + nanogen daily volume shampoo. Make sure you leave the shamppo n for at least 4-5 mins so almost all of the lather has been soaked up by the hair, you will immediatley feel the weight and volume as begin to rinse. Then what works for me is to use some strong hold hair spray and work it in to the hair making the hair feel 'tack' then add the fibres' they stick better and blends in better as well play around and experiment with your won hair and what works trial and error gets you a good outcome.
  2. I agree a combo wof dermatch and nanogen/ hair fibres can be best. Less is more is the key, don't over do it, but but think of using the dermatch to kind of bold underline the hairline as poosed to create a lower one if you get what I mean. I find using a good hair thickening shampoo makes the effect even better, reserve for when you need to look you best. I would reccomend thicker fuller hair shampoo and and also nanogens daily volume works great
  3. As promised here are my updated pics. Ive included a time line to show the stages from pre op, 6 months, 8 months and now most recently 11 months. again the hair keeps improving, weight, styling ability, coverage. each month - 6 weeks there is s small but significant change for the better, once again highlighting the common thread of allowing a minimum of 12 months to show a the result and 18 months for the final possible end result. here is a reminder of immediate post op and front at 11 months some pics of front and side 11 months - 'out of bed' Note the strategic placement of grafts has allowed me to wear my hair in a way that maximizes the coverage and effect, I have to to say that Dr Fller's judgemnt on graft palcement is spot on, even though I questioned it a a little at the time.
  4. It is now 11 months since my surgery with Dr Feller I will add pictures over the next few days when i get chance but just felt compelled to quickly update you all as feeling really good about my hair and decision to go with Dr Feller. I can now style my hair however i wish and have options available to me i previously didn't have. Its also incredible natural so natural i told my friend about it last night and he was blown away so much so he didn't believe it was a hair transplant even under very close inspection. The best compliments are always the ones that come from your barber, as they see the changes more so every 4 weeks when I go for a cut, he can't believe the diff as he always had to cut the hair in a way that allowed for the engineered comb over! Anyway I also want to mention about seasonal shed something that Spex told me about, It hit me around April just when I did not need it as I was on holiday in LA, and had to wear a cap , being over self conscious truth being told I was so used to the better hair since the HT that it felt worse than it was. Anyway just as the shock loss hit, the hair when it came back, came back with avengence! and now approaching 11 months in the next 2 weeks I am enjoying using styling products that were of limits before the HT, Im also enjoying the weight thickness and styling options that were not there before. I'm very happy I chose Dr Feller he chose wisely with his graft placement and has made the most out of the small HT I had Very happy, pics to follow shortly. p.s I have found a wonderful hair thickening shampoo that adds the final touch - I strongly recommend trying Thicker Fuller hair by shwarzkopff. You only need a little and it works great! Thanks for the support and advice Spex and everyone else Life is good, Thanks Dr Feller!!!! UKresponder
  5. In my opinion I'd only ever go back to Dr feller and that the jury is out on Rooneys HT but based on the cliic and the method that Rooney needs properly research his HT next time ;-) At the end of the day You can't build a reputation on things you haven't done. Let's see this huge wave of booked out HT's for the clinic and how they come out over the next 12-18 months. If they are any good they should be showing results which are as equally as impressive as the established Docs, that knock out consistent results week in week out. It would be good for the UK to finally get more than just one or two docs that are worth going t, but until they get consistent results you have to go with what you know.
  6. The most experienced and consistent FUE Dr is Dr Feller in New York
  7. Guys, I would like to share with you some good resources and experiences in thickening up the shed, I have found loreal elvive for men ( grey bottle ) exceptional for its thickening effect. its in th UK by the way for ?2 bargain! Also I have found nanogen daily volume whne usd with above shampoo to be even better , leave the two on your head for a good 5-6 mins until the lather has almost soaked in. and finally use regain foam when you hair is dryish and that will thicken it up as well triple action! hope that helps
  8. Hi Beef, Your going through the journey as we all have, and it takes time, reaffirmation of knowledge from all the experienced people on here. You will have a swirl of emotions and feelings as you get deeper into this realm. Once you start it's difficult to pull yourself out. I started about 18 months ago and only got my first HT last august with great results already. It takes a lot of time and effort to read and post all day long. especially if your hiding it from our wife etc! The best thing I can recommend is investing in Maximum Hair Minimum Loss;. It is a full multi media online resource that will cover every single thing u want to know and ask. Its by a guy called spex who has helped thousands of us on here for over 10 years and all the guys recommend his word and help. Im sure this will give you the best start you could need check it out here: Maximum Hair Minimum Loss;
  9. Update on pics at 8 month, now with shorter haircut, left side now catching up with right , overall filling out better:
  10. There is no question that the patient is upset, but saying Dr. Hassan did not act defensively or aggressively is a bit of a reach, is it not? I think Nothappy has a right to be upset, not just because he didn't' grow well, but because his opinion of the result was discounted by Jotronic and then by his own doctor. Notice Jotronic has not come on to this thread to personally deny the charges made against him by the patient. Isn't Nothappy entitled to his opinion and to show his pictures in a true light? Is H&W above criticism?? I looked at the pictures on the blog and agree with Nothappy that Dr. Hassans grafts on top of his old grafts should look thicker. Maybe they didn't grow because he had surgery in the past, but many doctors post pictures of repaired patients and they've grown fine and thick. What happened here?? Should not Dr. Hassan have written that some patients grow poorer than others and leave it at that? Why push the blame onto the patient in such a way? By writing that his own patient was malicious and manipulative I think Dr. Hassan put his foot in his mouth and made a bad situation much worse. I agree NotHappy, that many unsatisfied HW patients just "disappear". A certain individual whos name is not allowed to be mentioned... clearly has had some pressure applied to him by them too for complaining, clear as day. How many others have?? Bonkerstonker, the patient mentions on his blog he removed the pictures as they had concealer on them, not the real end result.
  11. Sorry to see this guys situation and how he has been dealt with. HW customer service shouldn't be bench mark after all hey. HW are not all they are cracked up to be in my opinion. It is clear they have just as many issues and unsatisfied patients as other clinics just better at making them go away or hiding them ... or not as the case may be
  12. I tried a spray concealer, they don't look natural, the brand was called mane. I have foudn my own way of getting very thick hair: Its a combination of 3 shampoos and nanagoen fibres. I don't know if guys in the Us get this but honestly for under ?2 The Elvive for men wih reginium thickening shampoo is quite superb, it really does thicken up on its own. I combine it with nanogen thickening conditoner, this is great as it adds that silky feel to the hair which can feel a little coasre after the elvive, then I put pregain You have to leave it in tere for a good 5 mins almost until all the lather has soaked into te hair, when you wah it off the voulme and weight is instant as you run your fingers through your hair Now I towel dry until damp then I add a very strong hold hair spary thicks makes the hair tacky and then i work in nanoge fibres and the blend in without a trace. you have to mess around a bit to figure out the technique and what works for you, ut serioulsy that is how I had been doing it b4 my HT
  13. Most GP's don't know anything about hair loss medication, let alone generics. Since hair loss and Propecia are not supported by the NHS. Generic Propecia is available in the form of finpecia. These are a fraction of the cost at around ?190 for 12 months supply vs ?65 or so per month for branded Propecia. A good source to get them is http://ukfinasteride.info/prescriptions/ You have to register as a new patient, which is all online and they get back to asap as long as it's in stock. Great service. Hope that helps
  14. It saddens me deeply to see people like Spex who go out of their way to make sure people looking for hair loss advice in any from don't jump into something that they might regret, get unjustified and inappropriate negative comments see below; For any one who is still not sure of Spex's credibility just type in his name and see thousands of posts by him giving nothing but his heart and soul into this arena. A reputation like spex's doesn;t happen overnight, it happens from being committed and passionate for a number of years helping people. Just to let you know it was not necessary for him to keep me informed to the benfits of DHT inhibition and to give finasteride another shot as I got the sexual side effects from it originally, the hair I had was-all slowly miniaturizing and I would see tiny hairs being left on my pillow. Spex told me to get some level of DHT inhibition going in my system to preserve what I had left even if it meant half the dose or only taking one tablet every other day. I still wasn't convinced until I came back from a surgery from Dr feller who also said it wasn't too bad what I needed, and hence again Spex advised for getting on the meds to stop any further loss and give me hair the best outcome I could. Well I listened and he advised me to give finasteride another try as I am a bit oder now and also he advised to drop into my system slowly I titrated my self up from 1 tab a week to the full daily dose over 7 weeks, and guess what Not one side effect, and no more hairs on my pillow, the crown area is slowly filling up - BONUS. Amazing since I was one of those unlucky guys that the side effects shut my sexual drive down completley the first time round. Now just think, he could not have bothered with that info and I could have been wasting more hair on the crown area and be going for either a mega session or another HT instead I used only 2250 grafts with plenty more in the tank should I need to. I may still want some hair put in there due to the hair greed factor, but at least I did not rush into it and I have the luxury of seeing what the meds can do on their own. Without a doubt Spex gave me the lifeline I needed at just the right time and age for me. All I know anyone that does a lot of good and becomes popular for the right reasons will always get some negativity towards them - that is life. Cheers Spex and keep up the good work
  15. Tsakalos, Have these issue been resolved? I read through your comments on this topic :http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/159692-becoming-doctors-rep.html and found some very concerning. Especially the one where the consultant from HW called you an idiot! What is the situation now with HW and what was the outcome of your surgery? Can you direct me to your pictures. Surely you have been given them now or have you still been denied access to them, if so why?
  16. Guy's for what it's worth I happened to have a very smooth and pleasant experience from the initial correspondence with Sharon one of the receptionists to going through Spex to arrange my HT. Just to let you know I never mentioned this before because as far as I had seen Dr Feller's reputation was rock solid, I had no need to second guess anything. I might add that in my actual experience dates were shuffled to accommodate my own agenda as I was incorporating a holiday into my HT in NY, The details of surgery, blood work and payment were crystal clear. During the actual procedure, Dr Feller was very relaxed, which made me relaxed it all went perfectly I stayed at the local hotel ' the Andrew i had paid for 2000 grafts and he put in 2250 with no extra charge, he was very open and happy for me to pop in the next day in to his office if I felt I needed to, but I wanted to explore long island and NY with and over sized cap and enough vicodin for a few days to get me home. When I asked for the pre op pics to compare after 6 months I received them after a few short days. You know I don't want to bore people with the conversations and ethics that were discussed. It's just a real shame that people jump all over a post and disregard the decade of work people like not just Dr Feller but several other clinics and doctors have gone through. Over the forums it's easy to take one side of someones story. At the end of the day people that put themselves on the line day in day out and have a reputation like Dr Feller and other good HT doctors mean that they have by definition had hundreds of good and quality results in such a cut throat industry. All I say is this - think about the maths and the situation, one guy has a experience that he personally feels is not up to his expectations vs hundreds of satisfied HT patients?? What and every one starts saying that Dr Feller is behaving inappropriately?? Come on?? Get some balance here - As far as I'm concerned I had a 1st class experience and will not hesitate to recommend or go there again for another one should I need to.
  17. I just gave spex a 6 month update form my first HT back in August. I actually forgot where I was until I got him to send the pre op pics and it suddenly all came back! Only now do I remember going through 1 can of nanogen a month!- Now it's just a sprinkle and hopefully won't need that again I just like to say thanks again to spex as well. He really made me choose wisely and coaxed me into using the meds both finasteride and rogain foam, together they have def had a synergistic effect along with the great work Dr Feller had done. He kept emphasizing me to get the DHT inhibition which I was not going to factor in, but I'm glad I did and I know I would not be this good at 6 months without his reason logic and making sure I got the best possible result out. Spex it's almost as if it's your own hair that you are looking out for! Cheers again and I can't wait for the full result. Any one considering taking the first step for preventing their hair loss should speak to Spex as a matter of priority before you do anything.
  18. Thanks Bill, Its amazing how the hair just goes on a growth spurt out of now where it kind of just happened just after Chrsitmas, and then suddenly everything seems to fall into place
  19. Thanks for posting some better pics after a hair cut!. By the way I'm keen no see the scar video. Been wearing the hair like a 70's porn star as I'm a bit concerned how its come out? Any chance you could some how get the video up so we can get some feedback??
  20. Thanks man I'll def keep everyone posted. Hope your session goes well too If there is any thing I can help you with just let me know
  21. just remember everyones physiology is different and some people scab up a lot some people very little. I personally didn't have hardly any scabs at all and also my new grafts never even shed out! The grafts are pretty well locked in after 24 hours and certainly by day 3 they won;t fall out with just mild washing with a cup etc .
  22. Sure was on it for almost a year at the full dose I mean the immediate effect was no hairs being left on my pills in the morning and def thickening mid scalp to crown but being married at the time and not fancying sex is not tolerable long term so I sacked it off for about 3 -4 months then started up again taking 1 tab week 1 2 tabs week to and so on so by week 7 was on 1 my daily and so far so good with zero issues and again it's effects starting to kick in again
  23. I had serious shut down of my orgasms and massively reduced semen to the point where sex was just a waste of time stuck it out for several m
