  1. Guys, I'm gym rat, first of all I was back to bench pressing and normal activity after the staples were out, did this for my first HT non issue a great result and no grafts are gonna get messed around. 2ndly I also was straight back on the dermatch and fibres only as and when needed, again non issue nothing is going to upset the grafts like that. they are well locked in after 72 hours. I used to use nanogen, but now I have discovered caboki and it is miles better, gives a more natural result and u use MUCH less than before. Holds well in rain and sweat as well. hope that helps UK R
  2. Hi Staggert, I kept the hair as long as possible just to see what it could do to conceal any work done, I did the same for my first HT, amd it was ideal because last time round I had basically all of the outer edges done in a u shape, so thmiddle hair was able to cover up the implnated area after. This time round I have a good monk's look, so the hair which is at the back is long enough to cover the mid scalp. I use Caboki fibres to conceal the area and it just about looks ok. I'll show you a pick of what I mean, each to their own though! UK R
  3. Hi dkle2, Over here in the UK Propecia is not an NHS prescription drug, meaning a lot of Gp's don't really know much about it or like prescribing it. Either way you end up having to pay via a private prescription or a private consultation with a Gp who has experience prescribing for hair loss, unfortuntaley most GP's in the UK are driven to hit targets in the more imprtant parameters such as heart disease, diabetes etc and the like. Gp's don't like prescribing in areas they have no real body of experience in to get comfortable, so finidng these good guys is a bit of a headache locally. You can go via a number hair clinics but again you will be charged a heavy premium, which might make it financially difficult. uk finasteride.info is a safe legitimate site that many of us have gone through so you have an option there or if cost is not an issue go via a hair loss clinic. I wish I was in Australia! hope that helps UK R
  4. Hi Albian, Good luck Dr Lindsey is right up there witt the top docs, Im sure he will have nailed the best outcome for your situation. UK R
  5. Hello Lisa, I thought this thread would be of use to you. At the end of day the top Surgeons which are recommended on this forum will be able to perform equally well for women as they can for men. Please stick to the the Docs that are being reccomended time and time again, in NY I would say DR Feller should be one of your top choices and he is very understanding and compasionate as well with lovely female staff. see this thread on Dr Unger http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/144746-dr-robin-unger.html best, UK R
  6. Hi Faro, I echo the thoughts of everyone here, I had a similar hair loss story to you, it was the last year or so that accelaerated in terms of loss and then I went into panic mode to get this thing fixed, naturally I wanted something close to home, I looked into Europe and the UK, but as you will see, there is no body of evidence based results, they only ever have one or two examples and they are questionable at best as you have mentioned yourself, not to mention they are at a higher premium per graph any way!!? You have to basically take location completely out of the equation. Excpect to pay ?500-?700 on travel costs on top of your budget, but you should look at that as an investment instead of an extra cost. Take the advice of David here, there are several world class surgeons on here that can give you consistent natural results with much less grafts than other clinics. These guys are full time passionate surgeons that only want to nail each case so they give you the best possible result. You should look for a clinic that has: An open house for consultations and results That can show dozens of great results That only do HT full time That have a dedicated high class support staff Your most likley gonna end up in the US, through these forums you can look at a number of results and you should start seeing a pattern towards which Docs who are showing good consistent results with also glowing reviews of the patients experience. I ended up going across the pond I short listed 3 guys all of them excellent, but ended up with DR Feller who is based in New York, and I have been very pleased with the results that I went for another one a few weeks ago. I hope that helps with the rationale of making a decision. Once you take location out of the equation you will be suprised at how much more choice and class of clinic opens up only to your long term benefit. You have to remeber once you start on this journey it is a long slow process, the sucess of your first HT will ultimatley put you in control of how you want to manage your hair loss in the future, becuase you will most liley need another tweak at a later date due to the progressive nature of hair loss as I found out for myslef just recently as my mid scalp was losing some density as well, because I got such a good HT first time round with only using 2000 odd grafts I have maintained plenty of donar supply for the future, your only in your late 20's you need to think long term and consider the extra cash into the travel as some form of prudence in to the best possible future management for your own hair loss needs and expectations. I also get my medication from UK Finasteride, I know one or two guys from NI got theirs ok so worth asking if they ship to Ireland. best, Uk R
  7. Good afternoon guys, Well I have been a regular user of both toppik then nanogen using them to conceal the balding areas, they done a great job, however I stumbles upon a new hair concealer fibre called caboki on you tube of all places. I went and bought it on a trial offer you just pay shipping $10 or so. THIS STUFF IS AWESOME! It blows away topik and nanogen fibres, previously with the later you really had to cake on the fibres, almost layering it on depending on how bad your situation was, I also ended having to use alot of hair spary to kind of glue it down, it looked a little unatural at times. however this stuff is incredible you will see the fibres are bigger and they actually hold on tothe hair you need so much less it's like black and white. The fibres cling to your hair not cake your scalp over, you literally rub it over you hairs like a roll on and you can see the effct staright away and its much more natural as the hairs are properly thickened up not just being smothered with loose fibres. check it out here cabokicom's Channel - YouTube this will make a big dif to all those who rely on fibres as concelares enjoy!
  8. Hi Cueball, I know a lot of guys from here that have used uk finasteride, nothing but positive feedback, It's all legit and uk based as well so you get the meds like within a few days, Once you register they reply to your emails within hours and always keep you in the loop. Really good value as well all the best UK R
  9. Cheers guys, I think it was around 1450 graft into the hairline and the rest was around 400 into mid scalp
  10. Great pics to show the real effect of a HT all the best with your next op
  11. Greetings, I am 11 days post of of my 2nd HT with Dr Feller. Just to fill you guy sin I had 2250 strip last august which did a great job in hiding any kind of hair loss to where I was before. I was so pleased with DR Feller did with me last time round I had no hesitation in going back in again to see what he can pull of this time round. So my main goal was to drop the hairline by a good 1-1.25 cms and in particular address the centre of the hairline which had a lot of loss. During the consult per op Dr Feller said he really was worried about my mid scalp forelock area, which i really wasn't to bothered about until he dug up the before pics from last August and showed me just hwo much density had been lost, I was getting away with it but in a centre parting it looked less dense and more sparse than the rest of the hair, so slightly reluctantly i did go with his advixce and agreed to addressing the mid scalp. I know his judgement and graft placement from last time round was absolutley spot on so I knew I his advice and concern was for the best. As always nothing but the best time with the Doc and his lovely staff. Ive got some pics here now 10 days post op I will get the preop and im post op soon. Now I need to find a wig.......
  12. I have used Dr Singh and UK finasteride as well. His service is awesome, His assistant answers your emails within hours and as soon as you pay you get the meds like within 2 days it's all recorded delivery which you have to sign for. Impressive. The meds are all legit with long 2 year expiry dates in original packaging. What I like about them is that they keep you informed all the way as in from first email to when the money has been paid to when the drugs have been posted. I just wish this was around before I was blowing ?700+ a year on Propecia from the belgravia hair clinic!
  13. Cheers everyone, I could do with the temples and the front of the hairline being thickened up lowered a little to do this, You'll see when I get the pre-op pics done, but I m sure if we nail that 2nd procedure it will be put to rest. The crown is a funny one when the has is a bit messy etc and long it looks great but there is a need for it to be thickened up. keep you guys posted UK R
  14. How time flies? First of update now just shy of 18 months which is considered the final result one can expect from growth etc. reminder : 2250 strip back in August 2010 here are the before pics and im post op So here is the final result at 18 months: I am totally pleased with the result it really has matured from say 10/11 months right through to know, some areas actually grew more, but the thickness and weight of the hair is now pretty much all there. We are all different but in my experience for the first HT I had quick growth through from 4-6 months and then a final kick in from 12-18 subtle but to the individial big as you will only know your self. So Im off to see Dr Feller in Dec for HT #2 I have to say I can live with what Dr Feller did here, his placement of the grafts from the first HT was spot on, it just made wearing my hair style easy and it made me look great. However I would love to make it even better and have zero thoughts of my hair going through my head, a windy day still makes the barnet a little uneasy! However we are only young once, call it hair greed or what ever all I know is how successfull we are is directly related to how good we feel about ourselves, The better you feel the more risks you take and the more opportunity comes your way, wheather that means having the confience to stand in from of 100o people giving a keynote lecture or asking out foxy lady across the bar the effect is the same, so if tweaking your hailine and adding some more depth to your shed does that for you then why not? Hence Im off to See Dr Feller for a 2nd HT, this time I would like to fill in the temples and create a strong hairline at the front. I have actually thickended up the crown since starting on finpecia - Ideally like to address there as well if we can. I have no hesitation on seeing Dr Feller for the 2nd HT, I made the decision after the great result I had first time round He's just a great surgeon knows exactly what to do with the grafts to give you the best result. Watch this space I'll keep you posted on how the 2nd HT pans out 2nd HT coming 19th Dec UK R
  15. I have used finpecia 2 years in a row and have got it from Dr Singh - ukfinasteride.info. I mean you get it within a few days, quickest service I've ever experienced, you are emailed throughout.
  16. Paris_caine, It's normal to feel nervous and jumpy before the operation. I was much like you not knowing what to wear, do, feel, eat, take etc but all you need to know is you are going to one of the most sort after hair transplant Doctors in the world. As Spex has mentioned he has done quite a few including mine which i am overjoyed about and so much so am returning on December 19th for round 2 into the crown and hairline tweak. I am greedy. But at the same time knowing the results I can expect I have the confidence and rationale to go for more, when you have a world class surgeon behind you, you really have nothing to worry about. I wouldn't trust any other Doctor with my head now as Dr Feller is just a class act along with Spex. You should seriously consider Spex hair loss eduction modules and ebook which everyone who purchases raves about its called Maximum Hair Minimum Loss http://maximumhairminimumloss.com it helped be well after my first hair transplant and also this upcoming one. You will be fine and remember that Dr Feller one of the most prolific reputations for good reason. Just remember everything that happens after the surgery is pretty much out of your control after 24-48hrs all the grafts are locked in, you won't knock them out, your own individual make up will determine how quick you grow, how much scaring you will have, (which will be minor with Dr Feller). The good news is the you have given yourself the best possible result by choosing DR Feller in the first instance, don't worry about the rest. Spex's hair loss project will make you feel assured when you go through the extensive video modules that you will be no doubt asking about again and again post op. Its great piece of mind and in my opinion an essential resource to all HT guys both pre during and post op. all the best UK R
  17. Hi Hairsterical, looking goooood at 4 months! I have to say I had a very similar growth pattern, had my first HT with Dr feller in August last year and again got through christmas with my head for most of it and then boom just took a look in the mirror mid Jan and suddenly saw the great growth after just 4 months. YOu will be enjoying the next 12 months for sure. Im at around 13 months post op, and i can tell you that its still getting better, thickening up, more weight and managble etc, BUT also still seeing new areas of growth that were simply ot there before. You got to give it the full 18 months, even if you are fast starter you still will see bettering of the result later. Nice clean work from, you made a great choice, Im also going back in for my second op, Im so pleased with what I got already I want to get the hairline strong and pack some into my crown I'll be going out for a few days in manhatten for sure, no drinks needed the accent will suffice! keep the updates coming! best UK- R
  18. the place I go and I know a LOT of forum members have had good service from is http://www.ukfinasteride.info I think 1mg is around ?200, you get it within a couple of days, super fast service, a god send for us Uk guys
  19. Hi there, You found a good source in Dr Singh and Uk finasteride.info. It's up to you which one you go for. The generic option that Dr Singh tries to provide is the Almus branded generic tablet, when I asked about the generic his receptionist said that the usual generic finasteride tablets are quite small and are a lot harder to cut into 1mg doses. They try to order generic by Almus I think which have a much bigger oval tablet easier to cut in to 1mg by far. I tried the whole proscar/ generic cutting thing, and to be honest your never gonna get equal amounts of each drug and consistency in cutting and of course doing it hygienically. Proscar would be easier to cut, thay are both kind of a false economy but still vs Propcia is a handsome saving but when I found the finpecia option much less hassle for ?199 I still save about ?500 vs Propecia of the course of a year. Each to their own though but I won't go back to cutting up pills for a whole day! If you ask them they get back to asap and you usually get the meds within a day or two if it's all in stock with the pharmacist etc. Good fast service.
  20. Hi J, the cure is quite correct, you are lucky enough to have come to these forums to do your research, there is a ton if info in here, it will take you some time to go through all the questions and concerns you will no doubt have. Spex who The cure is referring to is the probably the single most experienced guy you could ever wish to meet and discuss Hair loss and HT's with, He has been helping people on several hair loss forums for over a decade and has seen several hundred individuals just like yourself f your are naive to hair loss and Ht's. I think he has had something like 8 + HT's in his life and he knows the intimate details of everything that can go right and wrong with correct planning and appropriate treatment both medication wise and Ht wise. I personally got a lot out of Spex who advised me the correct meds, and HT surgeon to invest in and all I can say is it was a first class and the best possible journey for me. Incidently you might want to check out www.maximumhairminimumloss.com | #1 hair loss information site it will save you hundreds of hours of research and give you everything you want on tap all the best UK R
  21. The patients photos clearly show improvement in the areas worked on. This is undeniable regardless of the cloud cast on quality of pictures. What troubles me and seems pretty clear is that Jessie1 played a tactical game here which he will of course deny yet got his "concerns" up online prior to any official evaluation or discussion privately with the clinic. Ummm, why not just wait and discuss this with the Doc and a plan forward privately rather than "asking" for laymens opinions online publicly prior to seeking direct advice from the Dr, umm i wonder why?! I think its an old trick but its one that can easily be seen straight through as leverage/extortion. Why not post an account AFTER private discussions. I doubt any of this would have happened at all if jessie1 had tried not be so tactical and knowing the experience Dr Feller has with these forums and being attacked I think this is the crux of it and will not allow a patient to extort him in any way. This is my opinion.
  22. I agree Spex has hit this on the head here, I recommend reading this post I did and I can speak from my own experience that 6 months again is way to early to make a call
  23. I have to just put my stance on this topic about most growth happening at 6 months. In fact today just by coincidence I posted my latest results at 11 months I also uploaded a comparison from pre op, 6 months , 8 months and today 11 months. You can clearly see a difference in actual growth as in new hair coverage as well as the quality and thickening I can tell you that Dr Feller went quite the way back towards either side of the crown and only this last month has those areas actually kicked in and covered up as in growth not quality of hair. see pics here for ref: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/161446-11-months-update-2250-strip-dr-feller-very-happy.html Fue has more trauma associated with the graft, torisonal forces and tension on the graft whilst being extracted, they by definition have not the same integrity as a graft dissected from strip, under the comfort of a million doillar microscope. You have cannot be disappointed at 6 months, I'm still growing at 11 months and I expect the fullness quality to be the final leg of the Ht come 16-18months. Factoring , FUE's characteristics , individual physiology, blood supply how you react to surgery how can anyone make a fixed statement on maxing out on growth at 6 months?? You have not reached any where near your full potential by 6 months whether that be new growth or thickening and integrity of hair Wait 12 months before you actually define your result as good or bad. You have also realize that not all areas will grow at the same time in the same manner as per my own experience. At this early stage just like I was feeling you think there is no where else for growth to come from, yet you will be surprised and when you least expect it you will see another shift of growth 8 - months onwards hope that makes sense .
  24. Thanks hairthere, looks like you got a devnt shed as well!
  25. You have to think long term and where you might be 10-15 years down the line? I would always reccomend getting on the meds, if anything think of preservation vs' growth. Remember once the clock starts ticking for us hair loss victims that means each and every day that horrible thng called DHT is slowly but surely eating away and corroding the healthy shafts that you may have left. Just like rust on a car. I can promise you this 1 year from now you will have more hair lost and minituarized from the attck of DHT than you have today, compound this by 10-15 yeras, hormonal changes, metabolism, and general aging and you are on a sure but steady decline. To make it more real think of it like a pension or even better an insurance poicy i.e like a pension build up a reserve of funds ( protected hair follicles now) so that when you want to draw upon those follicles you have a health you have a healthy suppy protected from DHT erosion. there is no short term solution to a long term problem. You want to get on the finasteride and regain foam this investment on medication will cost you about $100-$120 per year for foam and $150 or so in generic proscar. worth it totally
