  1. Good luck. It will be over before you know it, then the real excitement begins
  2. Yes, I think posting the pics wold be a good idea. Its hard to imagine how it could look as bad as you say. I've never seen leg hair that looked like it was worth having let alone adding some.
  3. Subtle in a good way of course meaning you still look like you but with a much more solid hairline. Its flawless I might add.
  4. This is an awesome result. The difference is subtle yet solid and very natural. His donor looks like he has thousands of grafts left if he ever wanted to do more. Good work!
  5. In general it is common to transplant into completely bald areas and get decent coverage. I agree with the others though that without pics you can't any any real advice. The best way to get an estimate of how many grafts you need and what the possibilities are is to do at least an online consult with a doc
  6. Shershko, As you say, it will depend quite a bit on what you have done and how much native hair you have. Like you, I have a job where I can't wear a hat. I went back to work on day 10 after ht#1. I was able to keep almost enough hair to cover the scabs and redness. I got a few looks but each day the hair was a little longer and provided more camouflage. For ht #2 the docs shaved quite a bit and it was a harder sell when I went back to work. I think I was able to pass it off as a bad haircut. You can see my pics by clicking below.
  7. Working out in general can be resumed in a couple weeks but if you go with fut, you will have to stay away from exercises that put pressure on the donor area (like bench press) for longer. I'm not sure I would play basket ball for quite a while after the procedure with fue or fut because of the potential for contact to the grafts. To get more info on docs you are considering, you can put their names in the search field and see threads where others have commented.
  8. The above advice makes sense. I would add though that the buzzed look suits you. So, as Ht Doc said, you should consult with the top fue docs (rahal included) to see what that option would hold for you.
  9. If you use a credit card or even your bank card, make sure you know if there is an international transaction fee. Most cards have one but there are a couple that don't. Capital One cards for example have no such fee. There is another one but I cant think of the name. I got the capital one card just for my trip. I think with most cards its like 2-3% of each transaction. On a normal trip that's not much but if you're paying 20K or so for your ht then obviously that fee is too much. Aside from that issue, you will get the best rate by using a card.
  10. Wb, if you look at my pics from op day to 2 weeks, you will see how quickly the hair will grow. I actually buzzed it down again on day 8. Not sure how long it will take to cover your scar but hopefully this will give you some idea
  11. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing the pics
  12. wb, I think fue yields are fine with the right doc. As you know, there are only a few good fue docs in the world. On the positive side that fact allows you to narrow your search quickly. The donor area grows back amazingly fast when the whole safe zone is shaved. I would say within 2-3 weeks its like having a 1.5 to a 2 clipper cut and progresses quickly from there. Good luck and welcome back. I hope you will post some updated pics so we can offer better opinions.
  13. I had fue to the hairline and was able to more or less hide the procedure after about 2 weeks. At least I think no one noticed. Hiding it was more challenging with the second ht to the crown and behind the hairline. Personally I prefer fue but you will eventually lean one way or the other yourself after doing enough research.
  14. You might try an anti inflammatory shampoo to reduce the irritation
  15. Agreed. Its better to do that massage while bathing in warm water when the scalp is wet.
  16. You should still have your hair in six months. If you you can't use them while serving, you will have the rest of your life after that to use your supplements and shampoos. Good luck and be safe.
  17. I am using only rogaine and some nutritional supps like MSM and Biotin but not propecia/fin.
  18. Good news cap. From what I remember of your pics, this is going to be a huge result!
  19. The shaved looks suits you and is also in style these days. If you like that look I would not do fut as you will never be able to buz like that again if you do. It wouldnt hurt to consult with an fue doc just to see what your options are. Being a nw 5 does not necessarily mean that you cant do fue. I have a friend to is a 6, shaves like you to and looks good. He consulted with an fue doc just to see if he could establish a hairline and get a better shaved look. It turns out that he can get over 3,000 grafts and some reasonable "mature" coverage if he wants although not a full restoration.
  20. Capelli, It's normal to be nervous and asking yourself if you're really going to do this. Things will settle down once you get in the chair and especially when the meds kick in, lol. As for the hairline drawing, make sure you get what you like but keep in mind that the doc has seen and drawn more hairlines in the last year than most of us will see in a life time. He can help you decide and will know what is likely to look good on you. you're in good hands from what I've seen. Looking forward to your write up tomorrow.
