  1. That's a huge difference from where you started. Very nice!
  2. would check with your doctor on that one. I'm curious to know what he says about that. I have had some hairs shed with a piece of skin or something connected to it also but not sure what it is either.
  3. As cgog pointed out its not that people think fue is scarless in a technical sense. Its somewhat of a play on words. Technically any time the skin is cut, there will be scar tissue after healing. So there will be scar tissue with fue. The point that's being made is that you don't have scars that are visible to the naked eye with fue in some cases. Some do get white dots that can't be seen unless you shave down to a zero guard or wet shave with a blade. Other's don't have the white dots even with this kind of shave. I had 350 beard hairs extracted via fue and I shave my chin every day but I don't see any dots. Also, I have seen an fue patient close up who has had over 8,000 fue and I couldn't see any dots even when he shaved to a zero guard. Whether you will have dots or not depends on many factors including punch size, how well the after care instructions are followed, patient physiology ,etc. But the point being made by fue fans is that you won't have a long scar which is visible.
  4. QUOTE<Sean, would you be willing to bic shave your hair or donor region for the benefit of the community to see 3000+ extraction scars? Would any other forum member be happy to do this?>QUOTE Chrisdav maybe that would put some issues to rest especially if we did side by side comparisons with fut patients also shaved with a bic. This problem is going to be that most of us are here to grow more hair not to shave it all off. I like the idea otherwise though.
  5. Congrats aj, welcome to the club. You picked a great doc. Can't wait to see things in 6 months
  6. Excellent choice! He's a true artist
  7. Hi cdog, You'll find a combination of what you describe (smooth areas, black dots, etc) which are are normal for 3 weeks. Some hairs break off at the surface and leave a black dot, others shed completely and don't leave any trace until they begin to grow weeks later. Other hairs will stay and grow with your native hair.
  8. Thanks Orlhair, now lets hope it stays this way, fingers crossed. I had hair once before and look what happened, lol. Have you decided on your next op yet?
  9. I decided to take a few more high def pics and put together a couple more side by sides. I think these pretty much capture how I look in person.
  10. Thanks Bonker, I am looking forward to seeing your pics around month 6.
  11. Thanks Cap and Orlhair, I'm definitely feeling good about my decision to have done this. @Bonker, thanks for the comment. To answer your question, I was told that it is still possible to do a strip procedure after my 2 fue's. I still keep that in mind in case I ever need to do it due to additional loss for example. The initial reason I didn't go with a strip is that I felt it was too invasive for me. I saw a strip procedure being done on tv once and just didn't think I could go through with the strip removal after seeing what was involved. I was discouraged for a while. Ultimately I learned about fue and was comfortable with it because I knew I could manage it. I was somewhat discouraged during my initial fue research because of claims of low yield. Then I consulted with a few docs who advised that they were getting within a few % the same yield with strip or fue. So decided to go that route. I will say though that I was quite tempted to get strip with H&W because of their amazing results. I did an online consult with them and was really trying to convince myself to do it. Btw, you're going to be making them look even better once your latest results grow out!
  12. Thats going to be one dense hairline. Its really quite advanced for 4 months which is a good sign. Usually there is major growth between months 4 and 6 so look out
  13. I think at your age, it was wise not to go too aggressive. If your loss stabilizes you could always go for a second op later if you wanted to. However, with that number of grafts to the hairline, you're probably going to be quite happy when it grows out.
  14. Congrats on the procedure. That's going to look so good grown out.
  15. Thanks Jazzy, the doc said he could get another 2,000 fue without a problem.
  16. So which clinic did you go with? How was the experience?
  17. Attak, Dutch is correct, it took months and months for normal sensation to fully return for me. You will get used to it though,
  18. Hi All, Thanks for the feedback and questions. To calrify, I had the hairline done in the first op about 16 months ago with about 1500 grafts. but it was just the hairline and it was quite seethrough behind it. I went back 8 months later to complete the frontal third and temple points with with 1500 more grafts and a few grafts (about 1,000) in the crown. Total for the second op was 2,511 grafts. So Im now 8.5 months out from the second op and 16 months out from the first. The original plan was to do all that in one op but I chickened out to be honest and decided to break it up into two sessions. The crown is a bit seethrough still but not bare like before. I still may add a little more there at some point but I need to wait a few more months for the final result. I knew initially that I wasnt going to have desnse coverage in the crown. I am told I have enough donor for a third procedure if I wanted but Im in no rush. As for the pics, I had been taking hidef close ups for my updates as you can see by clicking on the link below. This time I decided to take some at a little more distance with my iphone which is at slightly less resolution in hopes that its more representative of what I would look like if you were standing at a normal distance from me. Here is another one taken the same way but with a camera which is hopefully clearer and a couple of the crown, one with flash and one without, along with a preop crown pic. As for the length, I now have more styling options and can let it grow longer so I'm experimentting with lengh and style to try to find that sweet spot. Before, I had to keep the sides short like that or I would look even balder because the front could not be long. @Modenese, my experinece at BHR was great. Most top clinics will treat you well so it isnt that unusual. But I have to say that the after care was and is exceptional. There is so much anxiety and insecurity that most of us seem to go through in the weeks after a ht. If your clinic is there for you, it is much easier. The patient rep was very good at responding to my questions as was the doc. Dr. Bisanga travels a lot and will sometimes check in on a patient if he's near by. Out of the blue one day he called me and said he would be in town on vacation with his family and invited me out for a drink. I met him sort of expecting it to be like a formal follow up checkup but it was mostly just to hang out and have a beer which was a nice gesture. @Chrisdav, I haven't taken any pics outdoors recently but Im sure eventually someone will snap one of me and I will post it. @badbeat, I also love to see the larger fue updates as hopefully it shows that fue is a viable option with the right clinic. Again thanks to all for the responses and please let me know if there are any questions.
  19. Odds are that this is going to look great grown out. Lorenzo, any idea what his average donor density was?
  20. Makem, my personal favorite is Bisanga. As for published results, as Hariri said you should check out some of the other forums. Also, I'm sure all three clinics would be happy to email you more fue cases to look at.
  21. I wouldn't say that's excessive. Its not the cheapest either but you would probably pay more than that at some clinics. The clinic I used in Europe would probably charge 11,000 euro for that amount of grafts.
  22. Hi all, just a quick update to show where I am at 8.5 months out from my second procedure with Dr. Bisanga. I've included my original consult pics for a before/after comparison. Let me know what you think.
