  1. ...Compelling stuff, i'm a little more excited about this sort of development than say acell, histogen, replicell etc as it's development in an other way, or is that because i don't know enough about the technique yet so it is more intriguing than anything, i don't know... I just hope these new and exciting times, these page turners; these chapter makers and hope creaters turn into more than just forum post creations. Good luck everyone! 57mph
  2. Bonkerstonker, i don't get it, you joking or you do really use toppik in your pics? Spex, got it in for Jason Gardiner eh, i'm talking about Paddy Mcguiness though, what's your thoughts on Paddy? 57mph
  3. A-ma-zing! The patient has gone from being unlucky (mpb) to lucky (good coverage), it must have changed his life. Well done to all involved. 57mph
  4. Future_ht_doc, can't provide before and afters soz as it's one of those gotta have been following it types, much like us UK guys not knowing about minor US celebs who may or may not have had hts etc. Bonkerstonker, i read your post and pictured you having first hand experience with the judges, pictured you auditioning for the xfactor! ...Hi i'm bonkerstonker from hair restoration network, yes hi, i'll be singing the classic blues track 'i'm gonna get my hair back baby' by Hairry Transplant... Judge: erm sorry it's a NO this time round, but try again next year!?
  5. All an illusion then, i'm starting to think the men (and women) who use concealers are trapping themselves into never being without it but totally understand why they would, having never used any concealers myself i have never seen results in person and quite reluctant to get on the stuff due to being tied into using it til the remainder of my fuzz has fallen, perhaps i'd start and stick to the concealer if i knew what i had left would stick around, i don't know. Ok back to paddy... Research i've done so far i'll have an educated guess at he is a possible ht candidate and maybe we'll hear soon enough whether he goes that route or not. Again off thread a little, just seen Joe Swash on Eastenders, what we saying there...or shall i start a new thread (if there isn't one already) on his lacking but gaining of hair? I know he's had a ht but yeah, he's got the production team working the concealer magic eh! 57mph
  6. I love your reply spex mate, i totally agree with you. I'll simply add - craig (and whoever can relate to him) get a grip ...and fast!! I don't know what it is but i'm becoming a sucker to reading and replying to threads like this, i just can't help myself and in turn waste 10 minutes i should be spending doing more research on all things hairloss. But hey, best of british to my fellow mpb sufferers at whatever stage they're at with their research or nonresearch as the case may be. Regards, 57mph
  7. if's but's and maybe's! the more i read about replicel the more i think '...like really'! I so hope (like we all do) that the main characters in these '...so far our findings are dot dot dot and we think this might happen and that could happen' have some heavy duty and well calculated conclusions that outweigh any run of the mill optimism. Whether this falls flat on it's arse or not and Replicel becomes another class of 11/12 from school Flash in the pans, i'm in no doubt it really help's towards finding (and getting a better understanding) of what we can do to get our hair back! 57mph
  8. Has Paddy had a HT or is his latest production make-up artist good at using concealer, or both? He's back on our screens on 71 Degrees North after a lengthy break of the television, and his hair looks good considering where it was at a couple of years ago. In the show, the lighting (due to the sun bouncing around of the snow) is pretty damn bright yet his hair looks very good! I only ask as his hairline and diffuse thinning kinda matches that of mine. What you think UK guys? Regards, 57mph
  9. You must have known the type of responses you were going to get from your question and surely that is - who the hells going to mind two seconds out their day to pop a pill that quite possibly maintains the remainder of the hair on top of their head? It doesn't bother me in the slightest and i was thinking recently that if this was all there was to it then that's fine and dandy by me, people suffer far far worse troubles than popping a single pill each day. ...and hopfully i'm not about to stop this ritual anytime soon either, on all accounts! 57mph
  10. Whenever i delve into hairloss research and see the latest possible hairloss cure, i always wonder who the people having the latest treatment done on them, are. Which people have signed up to these trials, who are they, where they live, what do they do for a living, what do they have for breakfast, i feel they are almost verging on being nonentities and faceless (aswell as hairless) beings from the land of hairloss, but they play the 2nd biggest role in creating 'results'. Hey, just my thoughts going out to this hairloss soliders that's all! 57mph
  11. what's people's thoughts on someone who is Nw5/6/7 (pretty much bald) getting their first HT, therefore becoming a diffuse thinner by default and therefore would not be advised to go for further HTs down the line due to the transplanted hairs being prone to shockloss etc, or have i generalised this far to much? Regards, 57mph
  12. ...nobody's starting to hold their breath right?
  13. This thread at this stage has nearly 10,000 views! Anyway, tune in tonight (060911) ITVhd to see Wayne 'the fue' Rooney (i'll take a punt) score against Wales to guarantee us (England) a place in next years finals! Jeezs, i'm not sure if i'm tuning in more for the football or Rooneys latest hair growth. 57mph
  14. i'm on the understanding a HT and concealer can work hand in hand if it really has to and therefore make the hair on your head appear fuller that's all, it was my personal opinion as i stated but your point is taken BonkerStonker, fair enough. I'm under no illusion that HTs can work quite well but if a concealer has to be applied to give the impression the hair is thicker than it actually is then so be it, pretty much the same way jel can be added to angle the hair in a particualr style, straightners used to conceal curls, hair mouse to give lift etc etc, it's all an illusion right? Compared to where he was and where he is now, he looks good what can i say, it looks like he's got hair on his head and if it's down to the HT aswell as concealer then whatever, or have i over stepped the mark with what i'm saying here, what i should have said is 'i don't care if he's wearing concealer' , just a figure of speech that came out in my post, maybe you could change the 'we all care if he's wearing concealer' part of your post, but hey, it's your thread BonkerS so all is good. Regards, 57mph
  15. Rooney has just been on BBC news, on a post match interview talking about his two goals against Bulgaria (nice one Rooney, lookin forward to next years finals games!) his bonce is looking good, he's sporting his classic grade2 short back and sides with a neatish barnet on top, who cares if he's wearing concealer (i don't think he would during a game impo) the result is looking decent. He couldn't wear his hair that short if he'd had a fut right? ...ok, before anyone says he could if he couldn't care less about the scar! Rooney Rooney Rooney... 57mph
  16. Thanks Jessie1 for your post, despite where i may be at or likely to be at, your response was easy to digest so ta mate. I'm not denying we've got to take the rough with the smooth but me myself i'd prefer the better constructed '...but there's still hope so don't give up' posts and messages any day of the week but hey, wouldn't we all, but deep deep down kinda knowing there's not much hope just yet. I'll take this as a lesson and carry on the research, thanks everyone, i'm going to another thread me thinks...! Regards, 57mph Ps Spex in reference to using my pics in the thread, i've PMd you.
  17. A couple of posts here are coming across a little bitter, calling the guy ugly and perhaps knocking him and the result! We're here to check out his hairline not whether he can make the cover of Vogue, get a grip. The fact is his result is there for all to see and for the first few months atleast he'll be mocked for doing this and some willing for his fue to fail (who out of the knockers (uh pardon) could say they'd put themselves forward for that?), it's a great example of whether fue ht's actually work in the first place and whether they work without consealers. Take a look at Rooneys hair just 4 months ago compared to today and tell me this isn't a result that's on the way to being a corker, but hey i'm trying not to get ahead of myself here i'm just a little excited about seeing the result grow in and so are a lot of us in that there's no doubt. Good luck again to this guy and to us all eh!? Regards, 57mph
  18. I know TC17 you're right in regards to particular diffuse thinners but then there's a number of variants on diffuse thinning and (i'm sure we're all aware) many variations of mpb but with my experience i was told i was not a suitable candidate from the few pics i'd taken with my mobile phone, emailed to the rep, you can see the pics on my profile. Hey, i guess i'm just unlucky and the rep has masses of hair restoration experience to easily spot a not-the-best-ht-candidate from a thousand paces, from behind a hedge with their sunglasses on. Thanks and i hope there's others that can share their diffuse thining knowledge... 57mph
  19. Sorry Jessie1 you've had to sum up your HT experience as 'miscommunication' and you're right that this can happen, has happened and will happen. ...And yes i'm in correspondence with the Farjo clinic. So, back to thread, diffuse thinning, anybody like to raise concerns or add input etc. Actually we could include thoughts on the whole online vs face to face consultations i suppose it wouldn't hurt but by all means if the online consult problem has been raised elsewhere then if you could point in that direction, many thanks 57mph.
  20. Hey, i appreciate the replies so far, informative and constructive so thanks. I'm on the understanding that to be on your way for a result you desire you have to have a consultation with the surgeon with whom will be undertaking the HT, there just isn't any other way, even if it's just simply getting that first impression vibe. It's what needs to be done then both the doctor and client have no excuses further down the line right? Diffuse thinner could be a winner is what i could call my next thread, haa. Regards, 57mph
  21. thanks for the reply hairupthere, i was taken back by the 'may not be an ideal candidate' comment, though all the rep had seen was a few pics and therefore to me a little dissapointing, how do you get solid detailed informative guidance from online consults? What good are the online consults if all they are there for is either a no, or a, go see the doctor first hand kinda thing? This is where the whole 'don't let geography play a part in your decision making going for a HT with the right surgeon' falls a part, how can anyone consider a HT with a surgeon that isn't within a financially sound doable distance to their home state or country? It's hardly financially possible for some guys to get a HT let alone travelling to all corners of the Earth to get individual consults with several possible physicians before the HT, do you not agree, upps or have i go slightly of thread? ...sorry, back to diffuse thinning...
  22. Hi, What is the bottom line on diffuse thinning? Recently, (via an online consultation) i was told by a rep of one of the bigger clinics I was not an 'ideal' candidate, and in their opinion 'at this point do not appear like the right candidate'. I understand there could be a whole heap of reasons why i'm not the balding head of choice, but the short info i was given put me on the back foot a little and also disshearting to say the least. Does anyone have any thoughts, experiences with diffuse thinning and being told that quite possibly getting a HT is not the right move? Regards, 57mph
  23. If you're up for answering a couple of questions Jotronic can i jump in aswell, when you say 'Not losing the grafts is rare...first patient I've ever seen that didn't lose his grafts...I can think of maybe five others off the top of my head where this happened. There is no rhyme or reason to it, it just happens' In what respect? I've been researching quite a bit the last couple of years and my main question to be answered is 'is hair transplantation permanent?' Am i getting my follicles mixed up with grafts? You may of course be going over old ground here but i hope you respect the idea newbies are coming along day in day out that need something spelt out to them and still consider results to be some sort of medieval magic trick, so, sorry about this, but this guy being in his 8th year, is this pretty standard stuff now, will his grafts (iyo) easily last another 8? Regards, 57mph
