Regular Member Phillyman1996 Posted January 10, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) Is it a good idea to create a juvinille hairline on a 26 year old with hair transplants? I've been on minoxidil and finateride for 5 and a half years with stable loss. Edited January 11, 2023 by Phillyman1996

Senior Member mavigo Posted January 12, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 12, 2023 Absolutely not. I made the mistake of letting a doctor lower my hairline. Don't do it. A successful hair transplant is a natural transplant. You will need a hairline that you will grow into not out of. Aim for a hair line that will look natural at 36, 46, 56, etc. All the best! 3 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted January 12, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 12, 2023 No. Personally I think it is too low (but it's just my opinion). What level of baldness are you at now? GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted January 12, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted January 12, 2023 Trying to recreate or mimic hair at a younger age usually as problems in naturalness later in life. Senior Member pkipling Posted January 13, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 13, 2023 Happy to see all the resounding NOs here already. I went in with this same exact mindset when I had my first consultation with Dr. Mohebi, and he very quickly shut it down and explained why it would be a terrible idea and would not be an option. Lol. So I surrendered to his guidance and expertise, and we worked together to create a hairline that we both were happy with. And to be completely honest, in hindsight, I probably would be even happier with the initial/slightly higher hairline he initially proposed for me! We went a tad lower than he originally recommended because I just couldn't wrap my brain around not lowering it as much as possible... And while I have no complaints, his expert opinion/first suggestion was probably the slightly better route. I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My views/opinions are my own and don't necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff. Senior Member Marko7t4 Posted January 13, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 13, 2023 Getting a hairline that is that low will make you look strange as you get older. The whole point of having a transplant is so that it doesn’t look like you’ve had one, if that makes sense.

Senior Member NARMAK Posted January 13, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 13, 2023 I always think this topic exhibits a very specific response when you say "Juvenile" and mention your hairline as a kid. If however as an adult, you have stabilised hair loss and aim for a more "mature" hairline, which respects the proportion of "thirds" to keep harmony, and your hair loss isn't excessive, NW3 or earlier, i think you could risk it providing you are supremely confident you won't be losing more hair behind and chasing the loss. 1 Follow my first Hair Transplant Journey!
