Senior Member Sitries1 Posted December 27, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 27, 2022 Following on from a successful HT with Dr Bruno Ferreira in December 2021 (2500 grafts to rebuild my hairline), I decided to go back in December 2022 to tweak the hairline a little and to add as much density as possible with a 2nd pass over the transplanted area. I had originally booked this 2nd date with Dr Ferreira for the purpose of a beard transplant, however since I had been getting decent results with Minodoxil I decided to use the date in the search for the perfect the hairline. The hairline was slightly asymmetrical which bugged me a little so I wanted to adjust it slightly and then add whatever density we could. Whilst Dr Ferreira warned me that nobodys face was symmetrical and altering the hairline may not be an improvement to the overall look, it was something I wanted to do so he was happy to accommodate my wishes the best he could. The process with regard to organisation prior to surgery was similar to last time although Dr Ferreira has changed his patient Coordinator this year and things felt more reassured this time around. His operation seemed slicker and more well organised. There were what's app and E mail reminders at every stage of the process with links to Google maps for blood tests and clinic details etc. I had opted to stay in Espinho where the clinic is located and sorted my own apartment, but I used the clinics transfer service to and from the airport this time which I think was well worth it to take the hassle away from getting trains or cabs. Surgey day was pretty much identical to last time (same personnel etc). His team are very caring and the atmosphere is professional yet laid back. Everybody knows their tasks and they work together as a well oiled machine. Dr Ferreira spent around half an hour in the design stage of marking out the hairline and formulating the plan of action. I had input in this and he tweaked things a couple of times for me. He made a point of letting me know that I should voice my concerns without hesitation because that was my time to change anything I wanted (this made me feel at ease and have no worries about speaking up). The surgery consists of a team of 4 people - Dr Ferreira is the only one that touches your head and his team assist him. Obviously, it's hard to know exactly what everyone is doing at any one time but from what I could gather - One person assists him with his instruments (filling needles with anaesthetic and sorting out the implanter pens) and the other two are organising the grafts. The day is split into many sessions of extraction and implantation. I would say there were around 6 different sessions of each. The grafts were never out of my scalp for much over an hour from what I could gather. When I saw the result I was super happy and was amazed at how many more grafts he was able to pack into the hairline. Fingers crossed the results are as good as last time - I shall update this thread regularly with my progress.
Senior Member mister_25 Posted December 27, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 27, 2022 Following your second journey, I love how Dr Ferreira listened and went with your wishes of chasing symmetry. It shows that he cares about what you want rather than chasing his own artistry. 3 12+ Months Finasteride + Minoxidil 3872 FUE w/ Dr Hasson | November 2022

Senior Member Sitries1 Posted January 2, 2023 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 2, 2023 OK so it's now 2 weeks post Op. Everything has been smooth sailing and is where it should be at this point. Scabs are pretty much all gone and donor area has healed nicely. Both areas are still slightly numb and sensitive but that's due to be expected I guess. So far I've shed a few hairs here and there but the major shed I guess will start later on this week I would imagine (I shed pretty early last time). As with my 1st procedure, there has been no shock loss to report. As with my 1st transplant, I am not currently taking finasteride or Minodoxil for hair loss/hair growth (I use minoxidil for my beard only). I was toying with the idea of starting medication but I've decided against finasteride at this point as I'm not seeing losses or notable miniaturisation however I'm still debating whether to start oral Minoxidil. I'm just looking into where to find a reliable pharma grade supply before taking the plunge with that. 1

You can get Brand name Loniten in the UK from the Oxford online pharmacy - that is your best bet. Just need a script from a Dr, think Farjo will write one for you if you contact his office. Hair looks good.

A hair surgeon based in Manchester. The pharmacy is legit as far as I am aware. The brand name Loniten oral minoxidil is manufactured by Pfizer.

Senior Member Sitries1 Posted January 8, 2023 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 8, 2023 Just a quick update after 3 weeks. Really happy with the adjusted hairline - it frames my face much better. Shedding so far has been very minimal but I think it will start this week.

My honest answer to that is "I don't know" but I would estimate half and half as a fairly accurate guess.

Senior Member Mycroft Posted February 10, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted February 10, 2023 The initial result was very good, even with the unflattering lighting conditions of the clinical photography and the hairline pulled back. I have to imagine it's going to be mind-blowing once the second procedure grows in.

Senior Member Sitries1 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Senior Member Share Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) Hello all. So I'm now just over the 2 month mark since my 2nd surgery (9 weeks to be exact). I've just had my 1st proper hair cut since the procedure so I thought I would post pics to show how things are progressing. The ugly duckling phase was very short this time because obviously I had a good base following my 1st surgery. So far I'm happy with the outcome and looking forward to it thickening up and growing nice and long again (I'm missing the long locks already!). These photos were taken in favourable lighting so bare that in mind. Edited February 25, 2023 by Sitries1

Regular Member consequence Posted April 8, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 8, 2023 Someone mentioned this earlier but just to reiterate, your first procedure looked so flawless. This seems like a reinforcement of the previous work but almost not necessary. What was it specifically that bugged you about the first pass? I'm going to assume it was something not translating well with your pictures. Was it density along the line? Softening the temple points? Building a casa de papel with Dr. Couto: my 1700 FUE in Madrid.
