Hey all!

It has been a while since I posted and just wanted to provide an update.

June 24th will be 3 months since I had my HT at Eugenix. These past few months have flown by. My HT seems like ages ago but I’m only nearing the 90 day mark.

The numb feeling in my donor and recipient areas has completely subsided. I can finally feel certain parts of my frontal scalp again. I know it takes a while for the nerves in this region to heal.

I honestly haven’t shed as much as I thought I would. I’m seeing new hair grow in which is exciting. Looking forward to months 4-8 since that’s when most people say the growing kicks into overdrive!

Attached are pics taken today. I’ve been getting by with hair fibers and hats. I did have shock loss and so the hair on my mid scalp is growing back slowly. It’s starting to ramp up now which is encouraging. I’ve always had thinning in my crown so I’m worried that I won’t be able to achieve my previous hair length I had before my HT. It was easy taking the hair in surrounding areas and styling it to cover the crown.

As far as meds I’m mainly on Minoxidil and take a few supplements. I also use Nizoral 2x a week and dermaroll. I’m not taking Finasteride and have no plans to do so. I haven’t cut any of the hair on top of my head yet and mainly just get a fade on the sides and back.

Here is a close up. I do have hair fibers on in this pic in the mid scalp region and crown. You can see where the transplant was done on the hair line. I have all these long wavy hairs growing in. Is this looking normal? At what point do I trim or cut these without jeopardizing my potential gains?

I'm glad to hear the numbing in the donor areas resolving for you. That's what i currently am going through and hoping to see improve soon too.

I think obviously without Finasteride, you are doing whatever you can to maintain what you have but fibres are probably going to become a lot more integral to your covering up the loss in the crown until you are at the stage where you need to address it with a future hair transplant and you have good facial hair to help with that because you can blend it with scalp hair more effectively if you recede furthee and use scalp only on the mid to frontal areas.

So it has been a long time since I updated on my progress. Now that I’ve hit the 4 month mark I wanted to check in and post some pics. I’m amazed at how well the new hairline has grown in and I’m still only in the early stages of growth. I’m beyond ecstatic at my results so far. The long trip to india and journey through that ugly duckling phase is paying huge dividends. Im so happy I chose Eugenix. I can’t stress that enough. I’ve switched up my hair style now and rock more of a comb over. The new hairline allows me to rock that style while also being a great way to hide thinning at the crown.

let me know what you guys think!

Great results. Saving for reference as I’m scheduled with Dr. Das as well; a larger procedure and I’m just already burned out with all the travel planning, but ready to go on the journey nonetheless.

I’d also add that I think you should really take finasteride, OP. You’re going to need to take all the bad words you’ve heard about it online and throw them out from your mind. And then look at the data and see that the vast majority of men taking it are doing so with no negative side effects. The less than 10% who do experience side effects most commonly report lower libido. The horror stories where people claim their sexual organs or lives are ruined…those respectfully aren’t proven to be from finasteride and there’s no evidence that lowering DHT level (if currently at healthy adult male level) by up to 2/3 can suddenly harm your body that way. Can’t happen. I too as a 26 year old was apprehensive about trying it up until this year because of horror stories I heard, but once I cleared my mind of the nonsense I went for it and glad I did. I take 1 mg 5 days a week now for 8 months and no problems at all. If anything just slightly lower libido but as someone who was ridiculously high before, that actually hasn’t been a complaint at all. And as a positive side effect, finasteride helped eradicate my adult acne and thin out my body hair which I desired. I believe I had very high DHT before and lowering it a little has actually been good for me. So if you’re trying for a child, sure, wait…. But then give finasteride a try and just see how it goes man. It can help save future hair loss.

Thank you! The only hair specific supplement I take is biotin. I also take a multi vitamin, B12, vitamin c and vitamin d.

Ive been on minoxidil since 2015 and also incorporate Nizoral into my hair cleaning regimen at least 2-3 times a week. Other than that I eat healthy and exercise regularly. I believe all of these things matter less if you’re ultimately genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness. I’ve definitely accepted that reality.

Thanks for sharing your perspective and experience. For me it’s not even the side effects as much as it is the reliance on the pharmacology route for the next 10-20 years, that worries me. I’m just not a big proponent of putting a non life saving medication into my body for a good portion of my adult life for the sake of saving hair. I think taking anything that modifies your hormonal profile or alters a natural process in your body shouldn’t be taken lightly. I def don’t knock anyone who takes Finasteride. Lots of people do quite well with it. I just made the decision a while ago that it’s not a road I’m willing to go down. I’m 34 and try to take a practical approach with my hair situation. I know this HT wont be a cure all that solves my hair thinning long term. I’m a Norwood 3 and have no idea what I’ll look like 5 years from now. It could be all gone. It could stabilize. Who knows 🤣

Donor cosmosis is absolutely pristine. You should be so happy the 6 month mark. Would love to see  frontal shots if it's not too much trouble.  For anyone questioning how well managed donor areas are coming from Eugenix, this is the perfect example.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Attached are six month post opp pics taken a few min ago in front of natural lighting. Couldn’t be more thrilled at the result 😃🙏🏾

I’m now able to style my hair in ways I couldn’t before. I’ve always wanted to do a comb over style with a part but was afraid to because of my receding hairline.

I respect that. I of course acknowledge potential risk in everything and I think every instance/course of action can be evaluated differently. If one wants to take a 100% anti stance toward a whole island of approaches, then I look at it like…well, humans weren’t naturally meant to rip out the hair grafts from their body and relocate them to a different part of the skin now were we? Nature definitely didn’t intend for that. So if I’m okay with that then I’m ok altering my physical state in other ways, with each case getting its own analysis for whether it’s wise or not. But again I respect your place, and your hair looks absolutely fantastic now! Glad to see you’re such a success story.

Thank you! I totally agree with what you’re saying. I think it all comes down to personal risk and tolerability for health decisions
