MattDober
The antibiotics made me throw up 24 hours after a 2900 graft FUE. I stayed standing and tried to keep as much pressure off my scalp as possible. I didn't have any bleeding or pain, don't think any grafts were dislodged (maybe 1? I had 1 hair in the mid scalp sticking out further than the rest but not sure if it was already like that), but there was definitely so stress put on the grafts I imagine. Having trouble finding any information on this online and my doctor never mentioned it. Pill bottle said take on empty stomach but I should have known better. Attached are pictures of pre, 48 hours after, and 16 days after. Seems like some of the transplanted hair has continued to grow so would that indicate those grafts likely took? Trying to figure out how potentially damaging this is. Edited August 15, 2021 by MattDober
Senior Member Gasthoerer Posted August 15, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 15, 2021 If there is no blood there is no dislodged graft. After 24 h most grafts should be relatively secured. Try not to overthink. 400+ grafts in 2018 and 2900 grafts in 2020 via FUE with Feriduni
Senior Member 1978matt Posted August 15, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 15, 2021 Logic to me (based purely on a non medical background) would suggest no issues at all. The main concern is the blood pressure increase in the act of vomiting. This might cause some grafts to pop out slightly. If that didnt happen then you're in the clear. It doesn't look like it did from the photos. Ironically the blood rush to the scalp might have actually improved graft survival. 1 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
DrTBarghouthi
No worries at all. It all looks fine and there was nothing in the line of events that is concerning. Senior Member gillenator Posted August 17, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 17, 2021 Antibiotics should never be taken on an empty stomach and undoubtedly why the vomiting occurred. 1 Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted August 18, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted August 18, 2021 Have you had an allergic reaction to antibiotics previously? You may have experienced nausea and vomiting from the anesthetic. Either way you look fine. Looking forward to you sharing your journey! Senior Member Doron Harati Posted August 18, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 18, 2021 I vomited for 12 hours when I was botched on my 1st horrific experience at Arenamed clinic in Turkey due to medical malpractice practice of anesthesia overdose andan ambulancecame to rescue ne, on my 2nd procedure\repair HT at HDC clinic all went smooth, but my case on Arenamed was very extreme, I don't compare it to your case, just want to warn ppl from being botched in cheap black market clinics. I know some ppl that vomited after HT, it may be some allergic reaction to the anesthesia or empty stomach as the other members mentioned, I am not allergic to local anesthesia. 2 Doron Harati - Patient coordinator for HDC Hair Clinic, HT procedures are done by MD Doctors with Microscope FUE.
