Petchsky's procedure with Dr. Feller of Great Neck, NY

I flew across the pond to see Dr Feller, a journey seemingly trod by many an Englishman. We don't have any H/T docs of his

calibre, so he has been adopted by our people icon_smile.gif

When i showed up on Monday morning i had not yet had a chance to go over the finer details of what i want. In my head

i'd assumed that he would work on zone 1 and rebuild my hairline, but by the end of the day Dr Feller and his team had

1800 grafts, which enabled him to go right back in to zone 1,2,and 3, which is more than i expected, leaving me pleasantly

surprised. The procedure went well and his team worked away sowing my graphs in to the many tiny slits Dr Feller had made.

Like i had read many times the worst part of the procedure was the injections, some find them worse than others but no big

deal in the scheme of things. All in all the experience was top notce and ilook forward to seeing the growth slowly

coming in over the next 8 months.

Thank you Dr Feller and his team, and not forgetting Spex

Congrats on your procedure!! Looks super clean, as always per Dr. F's work.

Take advantage of the downtime, it will be nice and long (at least it will feel that way waiting to see signs of life), by enjoying some good books or catching up on movies!!

Look forward to following your progress from accross the pond.

Happy Healing.

work looks great petch,as expected.i especially like the jagged hairline.

what was the reason for only 1800 grafts though?was this down to poor donor or did dr f only go for what he needed for the job in hand?

anyways looks like your in for a nice result.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments!! Only got home today and currently nursing two puffy eyes, my skill at deception has twisted it in to a food allergy....no idea if a food allergy can give you puffed up eyes. but it seems to work so far.

CB - It will be this Thursday 8th Feb, and it's staples though, not sutures, lookin forward to having them out already!

AdamB - Yes mate, i noticed your thread earlier, definitely be keeping an eye on your blog

Tubs - home sweet home, apart from the unpaid bills that I opened earlier.

Balody - more down to a question of money, but I wanted to go conservative, can always lower later on. Dr F got an extra 300 grafts from my strip and being the gentleman he is, he put them in for free.

mmhce - Thanks, I just let Feller do his thing. Look forward to seeing the work you have done, any date as yet?

Bill - Why I thank you, i'm blushing, can i borrow your foundation icon_smile.gif

Eman, cheers buddy, downtime is a bitch, but i have my NY Yankees hat that Dr f gave me to hide behind and if anyone is interested i'm working on a book called "a million and one excuses" especially for the post h/t stage...so far a i have, "sorry, i can't come out tonight, the dog has eaten all my clothes" still working on number 2...

Looks like great clean work Petchski! Not surpising for Dr. Feller though :-).

It looks like Dr. Feller avoided implanting any hairs within the existing frontal forelock strip area which wasn't shaved. I am curious as to Dr. Fellers approach on this since it seems that the existing hair there will eventually go bye bye.

Perhaps Spex could provide some info on this. Did Dr. Feller stay away from that are to avoid shockloss and if/when it goes the patient would come back to get it filled in?

Petchsky- send the hat back and we will send you another one. I don't want you to have to worry about the stares due to the hat as well as the stares for your "allergy" issue.

Like football (english league), there are some fierce rivalries here in baseball and I knew writing my comment would catch some flak being that one of the teams here in Chicago hasn't won the world series in 100-years...the white sox on the other hand are only a couple of years out of winning a world series.

Incidentally, I do have a White Sox hat! I'll rotate to keep the peace.

Out of all the American sports, Am football, boring, hockey, nah, basketball, nah, baseball, yeah okay, if I lived in America i'd definitely follow baseball.

Also, America football is getting more popular in the UK, they even had a write up in the national newspapers on the game and advertised it on the sports channels.

Answering an earlier question - Dr F didn't work on the forelock bit because it was thick enough and he didn't want to transect any follicles...and i'll go back and fill it in when it thins out, hopefully a good while, using propecia and rogaine with good success

Right, adding a few more photos, day 6, day 12/13/ day 11 of donor scar.

I'm surprised how little redness I have and I appear to being healing very well! Be cool if anyone could on whether it looks like a have shock loss or not in the donor, i'm finding it hard to tell

Edit2add - buzzed my head to a grade 9 with my beard trimmer, took ages and ended up being a bad idea as you can see the donor scar line. Looks better overall though.

not sure you will be able to tell if there is shockloss in the donor until the native hair begins growing back a little bit, so it could be a month or more until you'll know.

Happy Healing buddy and the recipeint site looks super clean. Look forward to following your progress

Cheers Eman, still not 100% sure on shock loss near the donor, but I think there is.

Updated with my 1 month photos on my blog...not much to see, my hair looks bad, take 3+ plus to get back to baseline I think, shock loss/down time are definitely the worst part of the H/T process, not to mention irrational fears, although i'm doing quite well staying away from mirrors.

Going to start using dermatch or nanogen on the scar to help conceal it.

Bring on month 2, i'm hoping i'm an early grower!

These will be your toughest times, but hang in there. The growth that will begin in a couple of months will make it all worth it. The range of emotions during this time are very roller coaster-like, so keep patient.

It is good that you mention the healing time--as I have said, it took me over two months or so to look normal. I know it is different for everyone, but those that say after two weeks they are back to normal I feel give the wrong impression of healing time. Now you can also be one who tells people not to understimate healing time whether it is a 1800 graft procedure like you or 4300 like me.

Thanks for the update!
