  1. stingray good to see you protecting the newbies. i see dr b has helped with fixing your hairline. i haven't been on in years & happened to see this. i'm still happy with my results from dr hasson & propecia has helped to keep what i have left. i'll try to keep up with your progess. good growing rtc
  2. garageland wow it's been a long time. still meeting up with all the boys from around the uk? it that other site dead or still as screwed up when i left it? i'm still as happy as ever with my ht. you're looking good these days. who did the FUE? H&W? i started doing some research for my cousin's daughter who is female & cursed too. just doesn't seem to be as many options for women. i plan on calling jotronic for some advise. after my 2 grandchildren came i stopped dying hair & it all went gray. i like it much better as it looks much fuller in contrast with scalp. well good growing to you & hope to talk to you in the future. rtc
  3. fook i think he stated he has not had it yet but is anxious to have it done. he is still in uk & hasn't crossed the pond since dr feller started it i believe. rtc
  4. dr l will the grafts be in the hairline or will you try to create a swirl in the crown? hmmm just curious where does the hairline start on a rat? at the top of the nose? above the eyes? rtc good luck with your research
  5. i had my ht in 05 & customs was a breeze. i was asked to take off my hat & i explained i just had surgery. i raised the front of my cap about 6" leaving the back still on. she looked & waved me through without taking it off completely. no one behind me was the wiser. piece of cake. good luck the rest of the way. rtc
  6. BEFORE HT 1. Get a massage the night before. It's good for the mind & the back the will be sitting for hours & hours. You must remain very still for a very long period. This is my #1 tip. 2. Get a travel pillow for flight & sleeping; it's a must even if you don't travel. It will keep your head elevated from pillow while grafts are at a unsettled stage. Do a search on Google. Many airports sell them but try to get in advance. 3. Buy whatever you need before going for ht. You will not want to shop with a swollen face. The clerks may throw the milk & eggs at your 'bigface' in fear. 4. Take a sleeping pill the night before to get a good night's sleep. Your mind will not let you sleep & will be filled with many thoughts & anxieties. 5. If you can have a friend or loved one with you. It's an exhausting day & you will be better off with some to watch over you or run errands. 6. Bring a loose hat or bandana or 2 with you as spares. They could get bloody. Make sure they are new or washed you do not want to get infected. 7. See the doctor the day before surgery if possible to go over what will be done. It gives you time to think about suggestions & may save you from a hasty decision. 8. Have doctor's office wash your hair every day you are still in town. They do it best & will also see any problems that can be nipped in the bud. 9. Think of how you will be hiding ht or telling everyone about it. Have a plan for both ways as you may change your mind after procedure. I did. 10. Trim your nails before ht &/or wear socks over your hands to keep from scratching at night. i did this for about a week after surgery. 11. Make sure you get Lidocaine or something to numb for staple removal day before you leave doctors office. The only thing I could buy over the counter was very ineffective for pain. 12. Buy a soft toothbrush to keep area around staples clean. Gently get rid of any blood buildup, which will help with staple removal. 13. Do scalp exercises if you are sure you are getting HT. Start as early as possible even months in advance. Every minute you do them might mean more grafts & less tightness after surgery. 14. Keep a hat or bandana on doorknob. Nothing more embarrassing then answering the door naked headed & getting weird look from the UPS guy. 15. Get a buzzcut and/or start wearing a hat weeks before surgery. You will get all those stares & questions answered while not acting so nervous. After HT someone may pick up your body language real easy & know something is up More tips to come as I think of them.

  8. no if they did all men would take propecia. you are the exception. rtc
  9. dr l i just got off the phone with laura & she's working on that prayer. boy you picked a tough one. i take to giving blood & needles like a quivering idiot. couldn't you have asked me to do something easy like those guys on "jackass"? papecut my eyes, chase a bull, hold some kind of explosives, ... let me know how it goes & i'll try to muster up the courage. if i can't i'll try to bribe my wife by giving in to her wishes for a day. rtc
  10. dr l many times i have been talking to people who have all their hair & scoff at the idea of a transplant. i have made them all an offer of $100 a month to shave their head with a bald horseshoe pattern. not one person has taken the offer. though it's not a horseshoe pattern i would like to donate $100 a month until her hair grows back. of course that means you have to keep on shaving till then. go with the horseshoe pattern & i'll raise it to $150. tell me where you would think it would do the most good to help children with your daughters condition. today i had to tell a friend about the adoption that failed last month for my son & daughter-in-law. she said she would prayer for them & about 2 hours ago i received an email from my son with them holding a baby boy they are adopting. i'm calling laura in the morning with a little favor to pray for your little girl. rtc
  11. fookinhair i love that name. all of us here have looked in the mirror & called out your name at one time or another. i too can't wait to see the end results from PRP. rtc
  12. un did you get PRP treatment over the entire ht area from 1st ht or did he try it only in the area of 2nd ht? we are all waiting to see the results. are you in the nyc area? rtc
  13. dr l any distractions that can take your mind off this terrible disease are well worth taking. i'm sure you'll get a few giggles from your daughter. i see we have the same initials, my middle name is herman what's yours? i always hated it until i learned it meant brother. rtc
  14. dr lindsey i just saw this post & your daughter & family will be in my prayers. i guess the shavedown will also give you some insight to us patients but hopefully yours will come back. god bless you rtc
  15. dr feller in the past 2 years i have been on blood pressure meds & feel they may have caused some minuturization. i seen my cardio doc today & we are lowering the dose to 25 from 50mg. will PRP be helpful with this? anxious to see your pics & videos. will do some research on dr greco in the meantime. rtc ps will a dropped popup cause a hair follicle to pop & drop???
  16. any updates from you guys? are you still using revita in 2009? was it worth the extra $$$? did it thicken the hair shafts? rtc
  17. i guess this proves that guys with more hair get more head. try to get a little more before the shed. it could be 3-4 months before you have your hair back & we all know what it's like to wait that long for it. rtc
  18. scarless surgery in china??? is dr armani now giving free eggroll with 6 grafts??? rtc
  19. the stents a have around my heart can cause hairloss as with some of the meds i take for my heart. i post their names later. one thing i happened to notice at my cardio doc was how many men were balding. most. rtc
  20. TRY TO KEEP A FOLDER OF PICS THAT SHOW PROGRESS ON YOUR COMPUTER. THERE WERE MANY DOUBTFUL DAYS THAT WERE PUT TO REST AFTER I REVIEWED THEM. IT REALLY PUTS THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE. CHILL FOR 3 MORE MONTHS & THEN REVIEW FOLDER. RTC SORRY FOR THE CAPS I WAS 1/2 WAY THROUGH ALREADY. I FEEL SO LMS & POWERFUL.
  21. tc no one can truly predict future hairloss. they can guesstimate but will never know. i often see men with 2" strip around their head & i pray i never become that. if so i'd be screwed because of my scar. if i had fue then most of that hair would have refallen out. if you feel you may become nw7 i would advise against ht. buzz down & accept the enivitable. i advise everyone the try this before ht to see how it looks. many are surprised the 1st time they do it. the 1st time i did it was after ht & i liked the look over a lot of hair with a bald top. i looked less bald with buzzed look. i love my ht now that it is in & have accepted my crown will always lack hair. rtc
  22. dr feller do you know of any doctors that use these techs for hire? i'm sure theforum would like to know who's doing this. rtc
  23. i agree the techs can make or break a ht. i too bought a nice gift basket for the techs. they busted their ass that day. i even let dr hasson have some although he didn't works as hard. somehow dr wang got some too & he didn't even help rtc
  24. drew with the degree of loss you have i would start out by concentrating most of the grafts in the hairline then fade back to the beginning of crown. many times patients spread the grafts across the whole area & are unhappy until they get 2nd ht. you will still need 2nd ht down the road. then you can decide whether it is worth putting grafts in crown. the hairline & top are the #1 priority. good luck you have picked a great doctor. rtc
  25. Bill good luck to you. did dr hasson use tric closure the last time? i don't see any hair growing through scar from ht #3. as far as the mohawk id'd say you look more like Mr HT after all it's your 4th. rtc ps 4 weeks of staples ... damn
